Anime reborn is addicted to 0.75% units from stages. Anime last stand is good at adding ALOT of mid updates. Anime vanguards never updates and when it finally does its filled with bugs. Anime defenders is just a cash grab at this point. so in my opinion its hate the game not the player. and a big reason for so little player count is probably because blox fruits just updated lol.

It's a lack of change, every new game follows the same pattern, Story and challenges, a week or two later, raids, then some event, most likely jjk. And then it just continues on, theres always a lack of innovation, and their only boast to fame is quaility, which can only last so long when every new big game says the same thing. Ive said it once, ill say it again, AWTD was a breath of fresh air that took existing concepts and added to them, or made it better. The story skipping, prioritized farming for specific things, and multiple events for old units. If these games just change up the usual method of making a game "good" itll stand out, and imo go above those who are the most popular now.
I'm going to say what I always say in these videos discussing the anime Roblox tower defense games. PLEASE play anime World Tower Defense. In my opinion, it is the best anime tower defense, with good updates, and it's very easy to get the summons, and at some point, you don't even need them anymore. The updates are fun and have unique units and modes, and I love grinding since it's not just getting 1 team that does everything because you need to think to make a team.
2 main problems 1: Games dont innovate, they only copy what the previous game did Anime Vanguards -> Anime Reborn ; Anime Last Stand -> Anime Royale : Anime Adventures -> Anime Realms 2: the playerbase focuses too much on vfx, to the point where ive seen people and creators correlate the word "quality" to "vfx" as if its the only thing that matters, as if most people dont turn vfx off bc at some point your computer just lags too much to have them on Good VFX is NOT quality
I think it’s the fact that there’s so many diffrrent anime tds now so every game has a lower playerbase than just aa having mostly everyone. Its also the fact that the games have lost the value of units. The highest played games are the ones that prioritize loads of rerolls to their players. Aa returning is good but its gonna turn people off because people r gonna cry about rerolls and secrets way more then they used to
I dont necessarily think its the genre thats dying, its just that the games are boring and just too similar to each other. Like at this point only anime td games that are different are ASTD and AWTD, both of them being pretty old. When AA comes back, they are like actually gonna have to do some massive changes to stay out from the rest of the games that are basically just AA but worse and add alot of features that are the norm nowadays for anime td games, like game speed, units manager, seamless retry/next, level rewards and index rewards.
there are just too many of those updates that add a new map/gamemode that you have to grind again and again just to get a 0.5% chance character that is getting outdated the next week or two its not as fun as it should be

AV would average probably 20-30k players if it never banned bots, it’s the biggest anime TD I’m pretty sure since ALS players AFK, and have bots (not like AD but still)
Hey majima here The reason that Anime Tower Defence genre is dying is mainly because the devs dont own the rights to the characters and often get takendown another reason is alot of these games take advantage of current trends and or popular characters with minimal effort and are designed to be a shell-less cashgrab please TD responsibly

I agree. I always had this idea of having a giant boss event type gamemode where like 10-15 players queue into a match and have to fight this difficult boss map. And once beaten you get lots of rewards like Gems, rerolls, evo materials bunch of different stuff. But you can’t do it solo you gotta do it with 10-15 ppl
They need high chance secret like 5% and evo with tedius but garanteed item to farm + pity. So you don't feel like you are wasting your time farming unit manually
Ngl it is dying very quickly and I’m gonna be honest the only ones that acctualy have a chance is anime royale and anime reborn, royale may not have a lot of players but in my opinion it has so much potential and deserves a lot more players than it does compared to like anime vanguards and anime last stand
Feel like everybody playing the same AA copy cats that have been out recently which causes this feeling. Play anime world tower defense. I’m not trying to glaze but being able to skip all of story in one raid and being able to level up crazy in a day is something what many wants in a TD game. Trust me, I was a die hard ASTD player, lvl 600 type shit. I tried ALS, too grindy. I can’t even play vanguards bc I’m on console (I’m not missing out) I don’t care about realms, reborn or whatever. I miss AA but AWTD fills that void. The grind is rewarding as it should be, I can’t get burnt out from it unless I’m hitting too many blinkers.
they need to add a twist with td games like that one game i used to play back then i forgot the name now but you need to roll for your character and you can equip like 1-3 character if i remember then your the one that will defend the tower and use skill on the enemy they should make td games like that again

I agree with you anime TD games in its current state are dying, I remember feeling burnt out on anime adventures before it got copyrighted because all of the updates felt the same and most of the enjoyable aspects were rng based (portals, limited banners, traits, raids).These games all stick to the same formula and rarely try to take a risk and do something diffrent with the genre. I want Td games to try and add diffrent stuff some of the coolest ideas in TD games Id like to see in these newer ones are controllable units like they had in ASTD with kakashi and that mecha unit or a unique idea is having a built in stage make so that the community can make and upload stages using model presets and the best stages get featured .
I think the hype from these games are dying. AA will come back, shoot up for a bit, people will remember how slow the game is and how unrewarding it is and it will settle down quickly. I just think as a whole the community is tired of having to macro, get limited rewards for grinding. Having to pay so much for rerolls. Why are the anime td games 5k or so robux for 50 rerolls. Meanwhile, other TD games its around 1.2k-1.5k robux for 50. Its getting old and people are ready to move on.

AWTD was lowkey peak. I stopped playing it after their anniversary update. Also vanguard’s is on console now but yeah you ain’t missing out

There was no macro needed at all in aa. Bots and stuff were not used in this game.
