  • I wasn't going to do it....but I did! I know the Yokomo MS1 has just been released however I feel like this chassis should not be overlooked!
In this video we unbox a brand new Yokomo BD11. Now this may not be the latest chassis in the BD range from the japanese manufacturer as we currently have the BD12.
The BD11 is currently on a not to be missed offer at MB Models here in the UK which can be seen here:

I have previously ran Yokomo cars the last time i raced. One of my very first kits that i built was the Yokomo MR4-TC Custom. I moved on to the SSG SD which was one of my first competition standard chassis. Since i have come back to racing ive also been using the Yokomo platform so i was keen to see what the newer versions of their competition touring cars were like.
Here we take a look in the box however there will be a build video and a shakedown to come in the future.
This is the link for the aftermarket suspension arms which i purchased from RC Mart:

I've been running a BD11 for the indoor season past, it's been brilliant. At £250 I bought a kit from MB as well, just to build a fresh one for outdoors. Incredible value.

I just couldn’t pass on that price! Are there any things I should take note with when it comes to the build. I have seen a few mention the outdrives might need upgrading?

@@RC.89 the outdrives are the big thing. Steel ones are ok, but they don't take brushes with a wall very well. Alloy ones are much more forgiving. The BD12 front C Hubs fit straight on, are stronger and have the mounts for the carbon body support.
I'm using the front bulkhead brace and the RC Maker flex bushing thing. Heavier rear spring helps a lot.
The cars been really competitive and I'm the one holding it back! I'm sure the BD12 is another step, but I'm past the stage that a small technical advantage will make the difference.

@@RC.89 as for the build, just enjoy it. It was my first Yokomo kit and couldn't believe how nice it was to screw together
A cupcake tray is a good idea for screws, as they're packed together, rather than for steps like AE/Losi/Tamiya etc.
Material, fit & finish is unreal!

@Gingapaint yeah I was suprised a bit when I opened the box to find all my screws in one bag but il definitely get myself a tray or container!

That’s good to know that the 12 C-Hubs go straight on it. I’ve been looking at spring options. Do you run the progressive springs or have you moved to a standard spring?
