  • Watch how to install the Graco Extend2Fit convertible car seat in a front-facing position.
Children who meet the proper age and weight requirements should sit in a car seat that is in the front-facing position in order to remain safe. The Graco Extend2Fit car seat lists the weight of 22-65 pounds as the acceptable weight to ride in a front-facing position. It is best to have your car seat installation checked by a certified or trained installer. It is common for local police departments to have someone on staff who is trained in not only reviewing a car seat installation, but also performing the installation at no charge.
The Graco Extend2Fit convertible car seat includes an extension panel with four positions, allowing for up to five inches of additional leg room. This is a key feature when front facing, as there tends to be more open space in front of the child since passenger seats can be moved forward, allowing for more room. There are three recline positions on this car seat that can be used when riding in a front-facing position. The headrest adjusts to ten different positions. The seat cushions are machine-washable.
Overall, there are collectively really good reviews of the Graco Extend2Fit Convertible Car Seat. I have used the car seat in both the rear-facing and front-facing positions and am happy with the ease of installation and comfort of the seat cushion and headrest padding. The extension panel is the feature I like the most because it allows for my child’s feet to keep from dangling, which is key when your child is trying to sleep.

You'll have to put the foot tray in, as it is rear facing only. Otherwise not a bad install. Be sure to take out the infant padding, check the weight limits on your forward recline, and only check for movement at the belt path.

This really helps me because I was always nervous. Mine wiggles a bit so I used that short extension but it only clicks on one side so I’m now trying to get an extension (its so short it doesn’t fit in any car). This is installed incorrectly. The foot tray is for rear facing only. You need to take the infant bottom insert and head support out (it is only allowed to be used rear facing) and the harness covers need to come off (also only allowed rear facing). Please find a CPST to help you install your seat.

This install is somewhat misleading. This install is only for vehicles that do not have the "bars" that you can clip into with the straps that come with the car seat, in this video you see it clipped in the section for the rear facing set up. That strap slides up the seat to the other holes for the front facing position. I would recommend using those over the seatbelt configuration if you can.

Putting your knee and weight into the seat is no longer recommended and the tray is for rear facing only. 🤗

Why not use the appropriate latch..most people dont need this as most vehicles now have had latches already

Because depending on the weight limit of the latch, highest being 65lbs for most vehicles, the weight of the child plus the car seat can exceed that.

If you’re gonna make a tutorial video on something as important as a car seat installation, please make sure you’ve read the manual. 🤦🏼‍♀️ You’ve got several unsafe errors in your installation!

Never put your weight in a car seat! It’s meant to only hold 50lbs not anymore than that!

Thats only for protecting a child in the seat and has no bearing on installing it and putting your weight on it to make sure its secure.

This seat can actually hold 65lbs

I agree! You aren't suppose to use leg extender forward facing and you have to have it set at a certain number depending on their weight!

I'm so lost on how to install it forward facing. I'm more of a visual person so the instructions were hard to follow for me too.

_Serenity if you have Facebook or can get Facebook please do and join car seat for the little or car seat safety page. They will help you. If you can’t get access to it I’ll help you here. How old is your child and how much does he/she weight and height!
