    As a Irish person who has British friends and family members living in Britain I would like to thank and hopefully I will be able to meet her in person someday before she passes away I would like to thank her for making me to not lose hope in Britain and it's people for showing me that happiness can be found in the darkest of times when one remembers to turn on the light

    Betty hit it in the nail. Cameron has driven our sovereign state into crisis.

      Sorry but he didn't. He offered you the chance to speak your mind. It was you and your fellow Brits who voted out. Au revoir... Ciao... ¡Adiòs!

      @Roger Out Irrelevant comparison, one is an active lawmaker (once MP, Speaker et now Lords) strongly working for equal opportunites between genders, the other is a singer. Yes, Mathieu is a french proud, but I don't think she ever fought for women's right.

    Women I adore: Betty Boothroyd, Dolly Parton, Joan Rivers, Judy Sheindlin, Margaret Thatcher. Not one of them has ever tried to use their sex or demonisation of men as a political tool or an excuse for their failure. They have worked their arse off to succeed. Sadly, too many women are encouraged to be victims in 2021.

      @Ben Wakefield As a woman, I couldn’t agree more with your choices and reasoning. In fact, probably would be the 5 choices I’d pick myself as far as role modelling goes.

    Dont agree with her views but damn what happened to our politicians, they're all just wimps, at least she had conviction and character

    Remarkable lady. Someone told me her life partner is Patricia Routledge. Not sure if that's true but if so what a wonderful pair of women to meet

    I liked Betty as Speaker, but "This is such an important issue, we must let children vote" is pretty much foolishness through and through.

    The Nazis were left-wing socialists. Yes, the National Socialist Workers Party of Germany, otherwise known as the Nazi Party,work that one out..Also common sense would say train more of your own people instead of importing cheap labour......regards Tony

    • @tajs476
      @tajs476 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The Nazi party was short for National Socialists but they were not left wing at all. Nazism means simply means nationalism. They were anti communist, anti capitalist, anti Marxist, antisemitic, they were basically anti anything that wasn't Germany or German so in reality they were populist and fascist which puts them more to the far right.

    • @albertlugosi
      @albertlugosi 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      You're completely wrong. The Nazis were right-wing. I don't believe anybody in Europe of Brexit Britain would call them left-wing unless they intentionally wanted to mitigate how disastrous their terror was.

    • @colinmerritt7645
      @colinmerritt7645 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry Tony, but the honorable gentlemen are correct. Naziism is a far right ideology. Don't be fooled by the word Socialist. They used it to deceive others as to their intent.
