A 2023 ProPublican report indicates that Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has, on at least two occasions, secretly attended donor events in Southern California hosted by the Koch network, the conservative political fundraising arm founded by the billionaire Koch brothers.
This week, Justice Clarence Thomas acknowledged he should have disclosed millions in "gifts" he's received over the years.
According to data compiled by Fix the Court, since 2004, Thomas has accepted $4,042,286, or 193 gifts. The group reported that, for Thomas, there’s an additional 126 “likely but not confirmed gifts.”

First of all, it is bad enough and undemocratic that the people elects a president, and then that president appoints judges that will serve lifetime appointments on a court that is responsible to make the final decisions about which laws are constitutionally legal to govern our lives, even if such laws are deviously bad. Many would agree with me that the lifetime appointment for judges is FASCIST in itself. Secondly, if our elected presidents that the constitution restricts to a maximum two terms in office cannot keep any gifts given to them while in office, it baffles the mind as to why supreme court justices with lifetime appointments can receive and keep gifts given to them. This doesn't make any kind of sense at all. As it stands right now, these justices are constitutionally above the law and answers to no one. Worse even, they don't answer to the American people, who in actual sense did not elect them into the position of incredible power they currently hold. If we are really serious about safe-guarding the american democratic system of government from ruin, then our only way out of this constitutional quagmire of billionaires corrupting SCOTUS by buying the allegiance of these justices that ultimately decides the laws that will govern how the rest of us live our lives MUST be urgently corrected through an amendment of the constitution as regards to placing term limits for SCOTUS appointees, along with stricter ethics rules that will govern these justices.

Put impeachment or removal of SC justices out to a vote. DOJ should be able to investigate charges of impropriety and if it finds probable cause, a special election should be called and the people should vote directly NOT THROUGH DELEGATES and a 60% majority vote for impeachment will result in their immediate termination.

Justice Thomas put it out there, compensation by the federal government was. Inadequate. All while lamenting, he was at the age of retirement. Adding what the implications of his retirement would mean to the conservative majority court. This is my take on how he came to receive gifts.
