Jess Chris you have now made me want a Full English breakfast! You will be amazed how many people in the UK skip Breakfast in the morning! I do feel the English breakfast looks more filling and as for the black pudding im not sure it has a certain taste that not everyone likes! You did miss the fried sliced which is just bread fried in a frying pan on the Full English and of course who doesnt have Tom sauce or even brown sauce on their full english! I am sure Chris was having a great laugh when cutting the very very small piece of black pudding for you ha ha ! Great video guys and it did make me laugh! Thanks for sharing!
I have had the fried slice once at the place in Brandon we love to go. It's very different but good. I'm so glad you were able to laugh and enjoyed our fun video. Cheers, friend, happy Sunday! 🤍 Jess & Chris x
@@DaydreamersBarn , put baked beans (with plenty of bean juice), on a couple of fried slices!. I think it tastes so much better than beans on toast!. Baked beans in tomato sauce have got to be eaten hot, because they quite quickly go cold and to me don't taste great once they've gone cold!. Chips arn't normal with an English breakfast; I'd normally have crispy fried bacon, egg, sausage, Fried slice, and baked beans!.
Thank you, friend, very interesting. I will have to try that out! I definitely love beans on toast. That will definitely be a staple that comes back to the us with me. I truly appreciate your comment and your time! Cheers 🤍 Jess x
That makes complete sense because that was quite a large meal. We hope you have a wonderful week, and we appreciate your support! Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris
My english breakfast here goes. Sausage either Lincolnshire or Cumberland, bacon, black pudding, lambs kidney, tomatoes, baked beans, fried egg, mushrooms, you could add hash browns. Also a big mug of tea.
Looking back before we came here, most of that would not be something we would consider breakfast. However, since being here sounds like a delicious breakfast....minus a few items. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers Chris and Jess.
Yes, I am looking forward to watching it tomorrow. I wonder if any of your followers will remember devilled kidneys. Many years ago my father would cook it on Sunday morning, as an addition to bacon and eggs etc. It was very rich but so tasty!
Oh, you're so kind and supportive! It makes our hearts so happy. I would love to see what they all have to say as well. I will have to look into what is. Appreciate you sharing. That sounds interesting as well. Thanks for all the support and 🤍 Jess & Chris x
@@DaydreamersBarn , personally when I order a English breakfast I ask for the Hash browns and if any chips to be taken off and replaced with another sausage and egg . The hash is new and the chips are just a bit of extra stuff . Personally I get no taste from the pudding but will eat it and would rather have mash potatoes and bangers and gravy than tasteless hash. Next time shopping try to get Cumberland or Lincolnshire sausages , some places serve one or the other with breakfast
Might find chips in an all-day-breakfast (pubs etc) but it is not in a full English usually. Ulster fry will be the same as full English + fried soda bread + fried potato bread + white pudding. Most of northern Europe has their own variation of black pudding.. blood sausage.
Well, it's what I have had at 4 other locations. There was not much seasoning in it, but it wasn't bad. What sausage would you recommend I try to cook at home? Thank you for watching and leaving us some feedback. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
In UK there are as many varieties of sausage and black pudding ( blood sausage ) as there are accents and the range of taste variation is astonishing and obviously it is a lot to do with personal taste and local preferences. I have never seen chips on a breakfast plate.
My favourite black pudding is Stornaway black pudding . It has something like champagne and Parma Ham as it is Protected Geographically Indicator of Origin
@@DaydreamersBarn Black pudding can be eaten uncooked as it is steamed during production . Admittedly I have never tried this personally - always grill for a couple of minutes.
Jess, sausages are a localised thing. If you go to a proper butchers shop, they will have different varieties depending on where you are. Norfolk sausage is very good, (I may be biased), also Cumberland sausage. If you could get some different varieties from a butchers not a supermarket, it would be a good video.
@@DaydreamersBarn Go whole hog and get Smoked Back Bacon and Unsmoked Back Bacon. I use both for different things. I also use different types of sausages for different meals. If I'm doing Bangers and Mustard Mash, it's Cumberland, Sausage Casserole (it's really warming in the colder months) Lincolnshire, and for Pigs in Blankets, I use normal Pork and Smoked Streaky Bacon.
Never known chips (fries) to be included in a full English.....usually it’s fried egg, Cumberland sausages, bacon, large open cup mushrooms, fried bread, baked beans, fried tomato, black pudding and Hash browns...sometimes people swap the fried bread for toast, Cumberland sausages for Lincolnshire sausages and scrambled eggs instead of fried eggs. NEVER CHIPS......don’t forget the sauce it’s either tomato ketchup or HP sauce and a big cup of tea or coffee.....I’m extremely hungry now I listed all that LOL 😋
I agree with all of this. This is not a full English breakfast as far as I'm concerned. I limit eating it to once a month (excluding baked beans, as I'm not a fan) as it's calorie-heavy.
@@geofflilley7465 The beauty of the Full English is that you can swap an item you don’t like for a substitute in a restaurant or cafe. I usually ask for a second egg as I don’t like tomato’s.....which is odd because I then spray it all with Tomato ketchup. Nowt as strange as folk as they say up north I guess LOL 😊 Enjoy your next full English whatever combo you pick 😋
Well it was ordered from a small English restaurant so this was what we got. I guess it's just based on what the restaurant feels is the proper English breakfast. 😉 But friend, what you described sounds wonderful as well! Cheers, thank you for your continued support. 🤍 Jess & Chris
@geoffilley7465 this was ordered from a small English restaurant. 😉 So we got what they included in their full English for over £9 at that! Cheers 🤍 Jess x
@@DaydreamersBarn I reckon a lot of restaurants and cafes try to add or subtract items to give it their own signature or twist to the menu. Poetic license so to speak. It still looks delicious though. if you order another ask the manager/ sales staff if you can substitute something you don’t like for something extra that you do like. In your case reject the mushrooms and black pudding for extra bacon or eggs for example. All lot of places are happy to comply with a menu change, after all your the customer and they will want to keep your custom. Best wishes to you both 🤗
@@DaydreamersBarnTo prepare a classic full English breakfast, you'll need the following: eggs (fried, poached, or scrambled), two thick slices of back bacon, two hearty Cumberland sausages, a tomato cut in half and lightly fried, baked beans (Heinz or Branston preferred), mushrooms also lightly fried, high-quality black pudding, two slices of fried bread, plus two slices of well-toasted bread with the finest butter. As a man in my mid-fifties, I can honestly say that I have never had chips with a full breakfast.
Jess I am with you when it comes to mushrooms, horrid things. I have never seen chips with a Full English, I havent seen hamburger either. A Full English: bacon, fried egg , sausage, mushrooms if you want, black pudding can be left off too, tinned tomatoes, baked beans, fried bread and/or hashbrowns. I have never eaten biscuits and gravy in my life. Please can you pop a recipe up for us? I hope you, Chris and the kids have a great week.
Hello Denise, Mushrooms are just not something I truly enjoy. I have tried, but they always gross me out. It threw us for a loop that the full english that we ordered from down the road came with chips... I'm glad it wasn't just us that thought it was off. None the less it was a pleasant meal. I have had the request quite for the recipe, so I'm going to create a video on step by step on how to make biscuits and gravy for you all. I will also put it together in a free printable version for you all to have. May take me a minute on putting it together to she with you all be I promise to get it out in December. Thank you so much for your continued support and love! It means so much to Chris and I. Have a great week ahead. Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris x
It was very weird having chips in the morning. We did enjoy all but the black pudding. We truly appreciate your support and your kindness. We hope you have a wonderful week ahead. Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris x
@@DaydreamersBarn I like the way you and your husband are determined to get as much as you can out of the time you have in the UK, when you eventually go back to the US you will at least be able to say that you tried to see and do as much as you could. I think you are both doing a wonderful job. Does the military allow you to go abroad while you are here?
@@Shytot-1 we are definitely trying to take in and learn as much as we can. This opportunity is one we will definitely not forget. We appreciate your kindness and support. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
Black Pudding, or as you will insist on (wrongly😉) calling it "Blood Sausage" , goes back to when absolutely nothing of the animal was wasted. The blood that is drained from the carcass is high in protein so is mixed with other ingredients such as oatmeal or other cereals, herbs and spices like pepper to preserve it. It was always said about pigs that the only bit of the animal that could not be used was the "Oink"! 🙂 Such food items are not confined to the British Isles. I have had similar ones in Spain, France, Germany, Greece and Turkey.
Oh, most definitely. We just wanted to call it what it's referred to black pudding is a distinct regional type of blood sausage. I completed understanding, not wanting things to go to waste, and agree with that. I could eat it, but it is definitely not something I wouldn't order if I had a choice. 😉 Thanks for your time watching and commenting on this video. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
Blood Sausage (Blutwurst) is the German variety, but the British Version is Black Pudding. There are many different types from Spain, Portugal, Eastern Europe, etc,., but they're usually avoided by our squeamish American chums. 😉
That's very interesting. Thank you so much for all of the feedback and insight. We really appreciate your time and thank you for watching! We hope you have a wonderful week ahead. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
Try scrambling eggs without milk. Crack eggs into a pan with a small amount of English butter. Stir the eggs gently. Tip them onto the plate while they're still very loose and liquid. Scrambled eggs should not be firm but should be the consistency of double cream. It's a French thing.Give it a go. Your US palate might need time to adjust but it will be worth it.
Those all you can eat for a few dollars places in the States. Used to do that, forget about lunch then a sit down meal in the evening. First time I ever saw anyone mix maple syrup and pancakes with bacon and egg and heaven knows what else 🙂 One evening they forgot our order and left us waiting, the manager said if we didn't have our food in 15 minutes it would be free - after about 12 minutes I suggested to my wife that we moved seats to increase our chances 🙂
@@DaydreamersBarn No free meal, 2 minutes to spare 🙂 Food was good, if you want to eat steak the States is the place. Customer service tends to be very good in the States in my experience, if you are paying then nothing is too much trouble. I even like the "have a nice day", a bit by rote perhaps, but hey a nice sentiment none-the-less.
Well done on trying black pudding. I'm a bit food phobic myself so really well done. Now get one of your friends to try it...before you tell them what it's made from ! 😀A common misconception of people from overseas is that our beans are just for toast. They are usually served on the plate as a regular side and an English Breakfast is all about getting all those tasty combinations going. The bacon with the beans, the sausage with the beans, the sausage with the egg, the bacon with the sausage, the egg with the bacon you get the idea. Baked beans are a common side dish over here. Many kids are raised on sausage, beans and chips, fish fingers beans and chips. Try sausage, bacon, beans and chips one night, heaven.
Thank you so much. It was very different but I think we may give it another go when we go to a nice sit-down restaurant. We definitely should have one of our friends try it for sure or our kids.. We really appreciate your time leaving us this comment and all of the inside. We hope you have a wonderful week ahead. Thank you for your support! 🤍 Jess x
I don't mind black pudding personally. I have also tried haggis while I was in Scotland, and I liked that too. I've never heard of chips being served on a breakfast. That's new to me. Hash Browns are more usual.... No bottle of HP sauce? That's a shame.....Breakfast without HP sauce on your bacon and sausage, isn't a proper breakfast Jess! There is quite a variation of sausage in Britain Jess. You can get pork sausage, beef, turkey, pork & apple, and lots of other variations in Britain.... Some of us Brits also like fried bread with our breakfast....
We tried Haggis on our last visit to Scotland. It wasn't horrible, just not something we're accustomed to eating. The whole chips for breakfast were very interesting, not what we had expected. We supported a small restaurant in a village close to us. We appreciate your time watching and leaving us a comment. We hope you have a lovely week ahead! Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris x
The potato products of any description have slowly become more popular on a full English over the last 20 years or so. Chips are something we would never normally see but hash browns have become more popular probably since the arrival of McDonalds in the UK. Also lots of regional variations. especially with the sausages, too many to mention but Lincolnshire and Cumberland are two of the well known ones, both very nice..
Thank you, friend, for that wonderful insight. The chips were odd to us, but we ate them. I will, from now own, only eat in the restaurant or make our own full English. Thank you for your time watching and leaving us this comment. We appreciate your time watching and leaving us a comment. Hope you have a great week ahead. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
Nope - chips (French Fries to you) are definitely NOT a normal part of a standard English full breakfast, and neither is a sausage patty (or beef burger, not sure exactly what you were eating) - sometimes you can get fried potato (mashed then fried) but this isn't super common either. BTW - I LOATHE Black Pudding too (that you chaps call Blood Sausage).
Friend, it was very odd to us, but it was an overall and enjoyable meal. We ordered it and it through us for a loop but was happy to have food to eat. The Black Pudding was not our favorite and probably will think twice about trying it again. LoL Thank you so much for your continued support and time watching our video. We appreciate you! Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris x
Black or white pudding will never appear on my breakfast plate 😂 however for the first time last week I had chips on an all day breakfast, ironically it was also in Norfolk seem strange but nevertheless they were eaten.
Haha. It will be hard to find on our plate as well, my friend. We definitely can't say we will not give it any chance if out with friends. LoL The chips on our plate threw us for a loop. But it overall was an enjoyable meal. We appreciate your time! Hope you have a great week ahead. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
Can you please tell us more about the biscuit and gravy, and how it is made. To me gravy is a rich brown colour, but yours doesn't seem to be. Ha ha. Loved your reactions to the Black pudding! You can get White pudding as well, which I've never tried. Have a great day!
I will definitely share. My gravy, I use the dropping from our American Bacon, heat it up on the stove top, add salt and pepper, once the droppings are hot, I add all purpose flower, once that is all incorporated I slowly add milk to create the gravy. Some use sausage, but it's not how I learned to cook it.
Full English should be egg bacon, black pudding, tomatoes, toast, beans, mushrooms, sausage (hash browns can go on it as well even though its an American import) all topped off with brown sauce. Also some people will add fried bread to it.
Chris and Jess, loving your video's... Now I am a fan of black pudding and mushrooms, but your reactions are simlar to my first meeting with Biscuits and Gravy in Nashville 😂. Long story and I won't bore you but basically, from what the girl's that recommended them to me said was that the hotel ones weren't the best and I needed some home cooked Texan ones... feel you full English might need the same. Basic to me would be two fried eggs, fried bread (rare these days) and a sausage (Lincolnshire for me, but I am originally from West Norfolk, I expect my fellow Norfolk Dumpling is from nearer Norwich and indeed good sausages all over and butchers always best). Guess as a full English on offer should be baked beans (I'd serve them on fried bread or buttered toast), fried mushrooms, fried or grilled tomatoes (tomatoes cut in half cooked) rear for me to want those. Fried mashed potatoes an occasional home addition (the ones left over from yesterday). Now when it comes patty sausages, you're onto a full Scottish breakfast and we're talking lorne sausages often a choice there lorne or linked sausages. You might have noticed use Brits like a full breakfast, for breakfast, lunch or dinner.... my Kentucky friend Jim thinks I'm weird on that, but seems normal to me and he eats pudding for breakfast (pancakes that I'd call waffles and syrup ). Relatively new invention the full breakfast came about after the war when ordinary folk started taking holidays in guest houses and hotels. We suddenly had lots of spare eggs too, now the forces no longer needed so many, so the Egg Marketing Board played a part in it. Eggs and bacon had been round for ever but not as the full English etc. Milk Marketing Board did the same with the Plough Mans Lunch, to promote Cheese sales. Your videos are very entertaining, many thanks
Hi, y'all! On one of my trips to Atlanta, I had the biscuit and gravy one morning. The biscuit was good, but the gravy was tasteless. I also tried the crispy bacon. Problem was I needed tungsten carbide tipped teeth to eat it!!! It was as hard as bullets!!! The other breakfast items on offer were yummy. I'm with you on the black pudding/blood sausage. Yuck!! Where I come from (Cornwall), we have a white sausage that we call Hogs Pudding. I'd rather have that on my breakfast plate (along with bacon sausage, egg, potato and beans) any day. Good for you trying a version of the 'full English' though.
I'm sorry our gravy was tasteless. Maybe that person didn't cook it properly. What a bummer! We love trying new things. We definitely love the full English but without the Black Pudding. Maybe we will give it a try once more at a sit-in restaurant next time. I will be sharing a video of me making my southern breakfast with you all soon. We appreciate your time and all the support. Hope you have the most amazing week ahead! Cheers 🤍 Jess x
Another great video, love your expressions when tasting the fry up. By the way, the streaky bacon was not your American type as you said. Our streaky bacon has much less fat, compared to yours, I'll never forget the first time I cooked American/Canadian bacon when living in the States & Canada, I was horrified by the amount of fat it produced left in the pan, it was like deep frying it, so unhealthy compared to our delicious variety, whether back or streaky bacon. Also, black pudding is a gift we were given from the heavens. 😋
It is interesting seeing all the differences in bacon. Even when you look at the differences within the country, different brands do it differently. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers Chris and Jess.
I love Black Pudding both hot or cold. Not that easy to come by now though. That sausage looks like a skinless chipolata not a full size Pork sausage.. A true British Breakfast wouldn't normally have chips. Hash Brown yes.
You can have all of our black pudding, friend! 😉 Overall, it was a good meal. The chips did throw us for a loop. Would have loved some hash browns! Thank you so much for your time. We hope you have a lovely week ahead. Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris x
Great video Jess and Chris. I regard black pudding as a real delicacy and an essential element of a good full English cooked breakfast, it’s also great in a sandwich. Chips with a cooked breakfast sounds very odd to me.
Thank you so much for the kindness and support. We really appreciate your time. The chips threw us for a loop. The chips weren't bad. We really enjoyed supporting small local businesses. We will definitely have to try it again, maybe.... lol We hope you have a wonderful week ahead. Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris x
Most English people that I know have an 'English' breakfast about once every six months. They are way too big and way too time-consuming to have on a regular basis. I love black pudding, but there again I am from the North and also love kidneys and liver. All regularly served when I was a child. The great advantage of eating offal is that only the dog and I will eat it in our household. The dog can't cook, so I know that if I buy them they will still be there in the refrigerator at the weekend and won't have mysteriously disappeared. Haggis is also a 'close cousin' of black pudding. You would never, ever, be served chips on an English breakfast years ago, even hash browns are a relatively new addition. My extended family in SC serve biscuits and gravy and grits?, they are tasty, but I have no idea what they are. I think another person has asked if you can describe them and maybe show us how they are prepared? English tastes has changed regarding breakfast in the last ten years, people are choosing Eggs Benedict/Florentine, smoked salmon with scrambled eggs and Rosti with eggs and bacon more often. My personal favourite is a kipper with a poached egg, but there aren't many places that serve it. Arbroath Smokies are even harder to find, but absolutely delicious if you enjoy smoked fish.
Very interesting. 😊 for sharing that about hash browns and chips are a new item to the English Breakfast. I would be happy to explain Grits to you all if you would like? We also tried Haggis on our trip to Scotland. Was very interesting as well. It's not horrible, just not something we're accustomed to eating. Thank you so much for your insight and time watching the video. Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris

@glynnwright1699 most definitely! Would love to share the recipe with you all. Will get that added to the comments and pin it to the top/ put it in the description of this video. I'm helping a friend today, so I will get that done by this Friday. If that's ok?

No, they are what come with the order. We didn't add anything, just opened it and ate it as it came. It's definitely not the normal full english we get at our favorite café in Brandon. We now have a go-to spot that knows us we show up. We love it, and it feels like home. Cheers 🤍 Jess x

funny vid - loved it, bit late with the comment. full monty would be Lincolnshire sausage, thick cut bacon, Stornaway black pudding (THE best), tomatoes (grilled), eggs, fried bread, bubble & squeak. Cant cook pancakes, and I only like crepes but not for breakfast and bacon that needs a steam hammer to cut is definite no! Would like to try the biscuit & gravy though. My favourite quick snack is 1 slice white bread 4 bacon rashers ! slice fried bread in the fat from cooking the bacon - what a sandwich in 10 mins, no sauce needed 🙂

Apparently they don't have back bacon in the US Dazz. I think that is called pork loin or something. They only have crispy streaky there, as served in US hotels here.
@@lawrenceglaister4364 I've been to both Countries, America destroys streaky bacon, Canadian bacon is nice and not burnt to a crisp. Maybe it's because Canada has a bit of British influence within its culture! I always thought that Canada would be like America, it's really not, so many things I came across and thought to myself "this is like the UK".
Oh, these comments are comical! 😂 To be honest, it's a preference to have "Crispy" Bacon or not. Please understand it's not everyone in the US that like it they way I do. 😉 Because I make "wiggle" Bacon for Chris and our daughter. Thank you all for the comments! Cheers 🤍 Jess x
You probably didn't like black pudding because it's purely organic and a super food to boot. Maybe if it was Americanised and pumped full of high fructose corn syrup and petroleum based additives you would live it. Truly, Americans have no palate.
Chips for breakfast - very odd. Black pudding sounds a tad better than blood sausage, but not something I’d touch with a barge pole. Gravy for breakfast? and it’s the wrong colour😮 Being a veggie, beans on toast would have done me🙂
It was very odd to have chips, but overall, an enjoyable meal. The black foot pudding for us was not. Our favorite is you could probably tell by my face. Haha I love yells, brown gravy, but my morning bacon gravy is quite yummy! We appreciate your time. Hope you have a wonderful week. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
@@DaydreamersBarn It’s doubtless what you’re used to. Just that it looks a bit anaemic to me, maybe nowt a few splashes of gravy browning couldn’t fix? I guess the only time I’ve had chips for breakfast is when I’d bought a pack from the chippy the night before and been too drunk to eat them!😉
I don't recall chips being common with a full English but you are missing the fried tomatoes. Although I like meat, or did, I am a vegetarian, but only because I don't like the thought of killing animals and eating their meat. Even if I wasn't a vegetarian I would not eat black pudding. However, I don't understand why people who will eat a nice juicy undercooked steak, oozing blood, will not eat black pudding. Black pudding is I believe, a mixture of pigs blood and oats. You were very brave to try it and not feel sick. When buying sausages, I would go to a local butcher that makes their own. Quality is pretty much assured. It is a pleasure to watch such an obviously happy couple make the effort. Sunday roast is the one to try, at your local pub, if they do meals.

That full English didn't look very good. I don't know why a burger was on there or the chips, but agree with you about the black pudding, not to everyone's taste. Try one in a cafe totally different
It was from a local resident. Definitely enjoy them at other places, now. Thank you for your time watching and leaving us a comment. Cheers 🤍 Jess and Chris
That’s the weirdest full English I’ve ever seen, I’m pretty sure that’s a burger pattie they’ve thrown in there 😂 One thing that fascinates me is that, from what I’ve seen on TH-cam, Americans tend to eat their breakfasts one item at a time whereas it’s the opposite for Brits. With a full English half the fun is mixing and matching different combinations of ingredients to find the “perfect bite”. Black pudding can indeed be a bit much on its own, the trick is to combine it with a bit of bacon, egg and maybe someone beans 😊 A bit of ketchup or HP sauce always complements a fry up well too.
I can speak for myself (Chris), I always eat one thing at a time. I don't know why but it is just something I do. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers, Chris and Jess.
Why do Americans call it blood sausage a Brit never would its Blak Pudding. Its also a souperfood ans you dont eat the casing its totaly yummy. Chips with a full English i would through that at the cook, blasphomy. I think the flat sausage if square its a Lorn sausage from Scotland wonderful in a morning roll. We have a saying "im as Scottish as a Square Sausage, its part of us like fantastic Haggis.
Well, we wanted to call it what it is. Black pudding is a distinct regional type of blood sausage originating in the United Kingdom and Ireland. That was not a traditional English breakfast!!!!! The sausage patty is a strange addition and the chips is an odd choice... I prefer white pudding, it has a nicer taste than the Black pudding!
Well, it's what we ordered from a local small restaurant. So, I guess technically, maybe just not what everybody else calls it. 😉 The chips definitely threw us for a loop. We appreciate your comment and time watching the video, friend! Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris
The modern Eng/breakfast (fry-up) is anodyne compared to the 50s brekky ? Who does it in an old cast-iron frying pan with proper beef lard, scraped out & reused, with all the crispy bits to build up the flavour? Everything was piled together. None of this pansy 'grilling' . If you don't have hardened arteries & an upset stomach with the lard, after you've finished, you haven't had a proper eng/ brekky. Big girls blouse!
Oh, thank you for sharing. We have a special place we go for a full English now called Pine Vista Cafe in Brandon. We love all the people working there and love to support a small business! We appreciate your time and support. Cheers 🤍 Jess & family x
A full English is definitely not served with chips or hamburger. The sausage also looks like a hotdog sausage and not a Cumberland sausage. Eggs (fried), back bacon, sausage (Cumberland, Lincolnshire), fried mushrooms (not boiled in water), grilled tomatoes, beans and toast. Also, black pudding if you like it. There should also be Bubble and Squeak, which is Sunday roast leftovers, e.g, vegetables, roast potatoes, etc, mashed together and then fried until it is crispy on the outside. Sorry to disappoint, but you did not try a full English. Props to you both for trying the black pudding, though.
@DaydreamersBarn I was impressed you tried black pudding. Knowing what is in it puts me right off. I am pleased you and the family have had a positive stay here in England. Hopefully, you will come back often to try new things and experience different places and customs. Most of us are pretty decent people and that's why you fit right in ❤️
Chips? On a full English? No way. Blood sausage? You should merge it with the items, not eaten individually. Hamburger? is Pork. You call Beefburgers, Hamburgers, which they ain't.
Haha, We ordered at a small restaurant and brought it home. So we just ordered a full english and heading home to enjoy. The chips threw us for a loop. I think blood sausage is the technical name for it. "It was referenced to in 800 BC, and the oldest detailed recipe is from the Romans around the 4th Century. Proper old. The name variant of ‘blood sausage’ moved along to blood pudding and then finally to black pudding, with the term ‘blak podyngs’ being recorded in the 15th century." Overall, the meal was good. Yes, we do call it a hamburger even though it is beef... It's hilarious, right? Thank you so much for your time. Watching our video and leaving us a comment, we really appreciate it. We hope you have a lovely week. Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris
Brits only really have a full English in a hotel or at a cafe ...cook it themselves usually on a sunday and more brunch ...plus if you want a real full english you cook it yourself and never never never chips...thats a lazy takeaway ...sadly thats not an english breakfsst id like xx
I completely understand that! I will probably cook ours from now one. No ordering out unless we sit in. We love trying new things even if we're unsure of it. We only live once and want to experience it to the fullest. Thank you, friend, for the fantastic support! Hope you have a wonderful week ahead. Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris x
We ordered it, and we have eaten at a couple of different places we have enjoyed much more. Like most things, it was not horrible, just not a place we will go back. Thank you for your comment and time watching our video. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
Sorry Jess I tried your Biscuits and gravy? once and never again. I will stick to a full English or go without, re the colour of the so called gravy is enough to put you off. So back to the full English, Black Pudding (full of iron ) is food of the Gods, yours was missing the fried slice and grilled tomatoes (not tinned plum tomatoes) and chips is a preference but normally sautéed potatoes. regards Mike
I am not knocking you, but every video I have seen of Americans eating, tell me why you smell your food, it's really puzzling, I have been to many country's in Europe and Asia including the USA and I have never smelt my food. Also never toasted with food , that is for drink, I am a fan I am not having a go its just strange. Keep up the good work. E
Definitely, no offense was taken. Your sense of smell is closely related to your sense of taste, so smelling the food will actually enhance the eating experience. We always try to enjoy our food, so smelling it first is definitely a normal thing. Thank you for your comment and time watching our video. Happy Holidays and New Year. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
We ordered a full English and that is what we got. Some of us would be good with mushrooms, but neither would like the black pudding...we already tried that. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers Chris and Jess.
What no fried bread !!! it ain't a full English without that 😲 (although hash browns has more or less replaced fried bread nowadays which i do prefer) .... ❤ you both , ps and chips (french fries) with a full English thats just NO NO NO.........NO
There is no way that you will like black pudding! Mind you, I don't either! The full English looks ok, however I don't much like the look of that bacon. It looks like American fatty bacon (we call it streaky), most unhealthy! You must try proper outdoor reared British back bacon. By the way, are those chips(french fries)? Not really part of a full English! Hash browns would have been ok.
It's very interesting, not like anything we have in the US. We had both bacon to try side by side. I love bacon so very much. We're definitely meat eaters. Love trying so good proper English foods. Thank you for your time commenting. Hopefully, you will enjoy the video tomorrow, friend! 🤍 Jess & Chris x
black pudding varies allot, a poor one is very grainy, a good one is very rich
Thank you for the insight . We really appreciate your time! We hope you have a wonderful week. Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris
M&S Black pudding is the very best.
Also, most people do not eat a Fry up or a full English/Scottish/Welsh or Ulster Fry on a regular basis. It is a treat on a lazy weekend morning etc
That makes complete sense because that was quite a large meal. We hope you have a wonderful week, and we appreciate your support! Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris
There's worse things in your hotdogs than in black pudding and you eat those just fine 🤣
Haha, well, no, I don't eat them at all, dear friend. Thanks for watching and leaving us this comment. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
The way to eat any combination food is to have at least 3 items on the fork and thence to mouth
Thanks for the recommendation! We appreciate your time watching and leaving us this comment. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
Fab, thank you for the insight. We definitely love going to smaller pubs for breakfast/ lunch. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
I think that was a cheap sausage that is why its ground so fine.
Well, it's what I have had at 4 other locations. There was not much seasoning in it, but it wasn't bad. What sausage would you recommend I try to cook at home? Thank you for watching and leaving us some feedback. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
@@DaydreamersBarn Tesco. You can usually get some good ones there. Avoid the Richmond brand.
In UK there are as many varieties of sausage and black pudding ( blood sausage ) as there are accents and the range of taste variation is astonishing and obviously it is a lot to do with personal taste and local preferences. I have never seen chips on a breakfast plate.
Fab, thanks for your time sharing this insight! We appreciate your comment. Hope you have a lovely Sunday. Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris x
No chips.... You need to go to the North West to try Black Pudding, they do it the best up there.
Lovely input and information! We appreciate your time. 🤍 Jess x
Jess, sausages are a localised thing. If you go to a proper butchers shop, they will have different varieties depending on where you are. Norfolk sausage is very good, (I may be biased), also Cumberland sausage. If you could get some different varieties from a butchers not a supermarket, it would be a good video.
Fab, thanks for the wonderful recommendation! Next trip to the butcher, we will pick some up. We appreciate you! Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris x
I used to drink in a pub near Holborn station in london that had at least half a dozen different sausages on the menu.
I am all for Lincolnshire style sausages.
But friend, what you described sounds wonderful as well!
Best wishes to you both 🤗
Full English with chips?!! No no no...
It was very odd for us, but we enjoyed the meal other than the black puddle. Thank you for your comment, friend! Cheers 🤍 Jess x

Hello Denise,
Mushrooms are just not something I truly enjoy.
As for blood sausage most countries in europe have variations of black pudding ❤ xx
Fantastic, thank you for your insight. When we travel, we will probably give it a try. We only live once, so why not try. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
Very interesting. Thanks as always. But we (Brits) never have chips (fries) with a breakfast.
It was very weird having chips in the morning. We did enjoy all but the black pudding. We truly appreciate your support and your kindness. We hope you have a wonderful week ahead. Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris x
Chips is an option but normally it's hash browns or sliced fried potatoes
Or bubble and squeak which is a mixture of left over potatoes and vegetables from a Sunday lunch then fried together in a frying pan
Oh, thank you so much for sharing with us. 🤍 Jess x
You forgot the HP Sauce.
Completely understand and agree! Next time, for sure.

Such food items are not confined to the British Isles.
That sounds pretty good. One of us might try it... Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers Chris and Jess.
Chips make it a brunch! Should be potato scallops , hash browns or bubble and squeak
Unfortunately, it wasn't an option for this breakfast. Would have love hash browns. Was very odd, but we still enjoyed the meal. Cheers 🤍 Jess x

Love the story! Was it a free meal? Did you enjoy the food? What was your favorite? We appreciate your time sharing with us. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
Great post guys. 👏🏻🇬🇧🤝🏻🇺🇲
💯 agree with you! We will definitely be doing that. Thank you so much! Take care, friend. Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris
LoL

LoL
The chips on our plate threw us for a loop.
Thank you so much. It was really fun to try both side by side. Hope you have a wonderful day, my friend. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
Full English should be egg bacon, black pudding, tomatoes, toast, beans, mushrooms, sausage (hash browns can go on it as well even though its an American import) all topped off with brown sauce. Also some people will add fried bread to it.
💯
We have had others now and enjoy them so much more. Thank you for your insight. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
@@DaydreamersBarn I buy big rolls of Black Pubbing I love the stuff.

Overall, it was a good meal. The chips did throw us for a loop. Would have loved some hash browns!

Great video Jess and Chris. I regard black pudding as a real delicacy and an essential element of a good full English cooked breakfast, it’s also great in a sandwich. Chips with a cooked breakfast sounds very odd to me.

Why do Americans burn streaky bacon, I just don't get it and why don't you have normal bacon!
Apparently they don't have back bacon in the US Dazz. I think that is called pork loin or something. They only have crispy streaky there, as served in US hotels here.
It's called Canadian bacon in the USA or just bacon if you're in Canada but always check 😂
To be honest, it's a preference to have "Crispy" Bacon or not.
Haha
I love yells, brown gravy, but my morning bacon gravy is quite yummy!
Friend, thank you so much! I would have loved a fried tomato. I'm a lover of tomatoes as Chris is not. Trying black pudding was not horrible, but it was definitely not our favorite. We truly appreciate your time and support on our channel. Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris
Peppered Cumberland sausage is the best.
I have been told that. Will pick some of that up to cook at home. Thank you for your time watching and recommendation. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
If you order English breakfast out, you can leave stuff off that you don't want or like or swap for extra egg /bacon/ sausage etc. Chips at breakfast never. Did you not cook it yourself? Eat what you like how you like it. Can I recommend If you have a polish shop/ supermarket nearby take a look and taste of some of their meats/ hams/ sausages. bacon
100% next time when we order it. We will dine in instead of bringing it home next time. Thank you so much for your comment. We really appreciate your time. We hope you have a wonderful week. Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris x
@@DaydreamersBarn I am sorry I didn't mean to offend anyone, please apologise to them for me.
@lynwratten9857 I'm not sure what you're referring to. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
Make your scrambled eggs with mayo lovely.
Thank you for the suggestion. 🤍 Jess x
That’s the weirdest full English I’ve ever seen, I’m pretty sure that’s a burger pattie they’ve thrown in there 😂
One thing that fascinates me is that, from what I’ve seen on TH-cam, Americans tend to eat their breakfasts one item at a time whereas it’s the opposite for Brits.
You can also eat black pudding uncooked mmmmmm
Thanks for the recommendation, we are going to have to pass on that one. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers Chris and Jess.
We understand that it's called Black Pudding, but it's not pudding like. Thank you for your question. We love trying different things, even if it's not what we're accustomed to. Thank you for watching the video and leaving us this comment. Cheers, happy Sunday, friend. 🤍 Jess & Chris x
Doesn’t really represent a PROPER full English. If I was served that I’d never return for another. Oh and why don’t Americans seem to use knifes?
We will keep looking for a proper one. Chees, Chris
It always amuses me that Americans tend to like there steak rare and swimming in blood, but can’t stomach black pudding
Well, not all Americans like their steaks that way at all. I definitely don't, and none of my family's does. 😉 Not that we couldn't stomach it, we just didn't like it. We ate it and could if it was all we had to eat. Thanks for your time commenting and watching our video. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
Tbh most Brits have just eggs and bacon toast and copious amounts of tea ❤...i think most Brits would prefer the American breakfast...have had biscuits and gravy and there delicious ❤xx
That British breakfast sounds like a wonderful proper morning breakfast to me! I love our American Southern breakfast. It's just something that makes me feel good. One day, it will be all homemade/ grown at home. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
@DaydreamersBarn ...I know pretty simple but if you ever do another food one show everyone biscuits and gravy and how you make them personally ♥️ xx
Black Pudding ( blood pudding ) is a Viking sausage . It's known in one form or another in many countries that the Vikings went to.
Interesting, we learned something new with that. Thank you. Cheers Chris and Jess.
😄😀
Thank you for all your support! Hope you were able to laugh at/ with us. Hope you have a wonderful week ahead. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
We had to give it a shot to at least say we did. Cheers, Chris
Proper old. The name variant of ‘blood sausage’ moved along to blood pudding and then finally to black pudding, with the term ‘blak podyngs’ being recorded in the 15th century."
Overall, the meal was good.
Yes, we do call it a hamburger even though it is beef... It's hilarious, right? Thank you so much for your time. Watching our video and leaving us a comment, we really appreciate it. We hope you have a lovely week. Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris
😊 I don’t like black pudding either
I hope you were able to giggle at my reaction! Thank you for watching and leaving us a comment. Hope you have a wonderful week. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
@@DaydreamersBarn ...have a wonderful week also 👍♥️ xx
That did not look like a great English breakfast guys. I would have been disapointed with that myself. Black pudding belongs in the rubish bin.
Well, you haven't had mine, but I do respect your decision, friend. I appreciate you watching and sharing your thoughts. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
Cheers 🤍 Jess x
thats not a full english. No chips no no no .where are the mushrooms ,black pudding etc
❤ you both , ps and chips (french fries) with a full English thats just NO NO NO.........NO
We have tried a few other full English since then. The fried bread is interesting, however, we also prefer the hashbrowns. Cheers, Chris
Quality of sausage can make a full English or ruin it 🐖 🐖
I agree with you, my friend! Thank you for your time watching and commenting. Hopefully, you have a wonderful week. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
Lol that was funny , i wouldnt eat that either it's like haggis,... completely unnecessary
I'm so glad you enjoyed watching. Thank you for your comment. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
crispy bacon...with you 100% Jess
Fab, thanks, friend! Cheers 🤍 Jess x
Chips NO!
Black pudding made in Ireland is best. Yum !
