I love my madcat HS Anderson Replica. It looks exactly like this one from the vídeo. It was love at first sight, only afterwards I learned it's history. "Prince's guitar" to me was always that exotic purple on the wall behind you. It's pretty intimidating to have "Prince's guitar" since I'm not an advanced guitar player yet, but I really love it.
Always loved Prince since the first time I saw him perform at First Avenue in Minneapolis in 1986, right before Prince and the Revolution headed out on their Parade Tour.
I always knew it was some sort of Tele copy. Thanks for fleshing out the story. And when it come to Prince, when he played the Superbowl half time show, and the RnRHoF closing jam solo, he set the standard at that point for both those performances, blew away any past artist's performances at those respective events, and has yet to be eclipsed by anyone playing those respective events since IMHO. And I say this as a casual Prince fan, not a dyed-in-the-wool-I-own-every-album-fan.
Great, always enjoy your videos. I built my own replica from a Real Life Relics body and a neck fashioned from scratch. I went with a set of EMG pickups for that 80s vibe and more of a Les Paul neck profile. It turned out awesome and I can't put it down!
Mine is a rare version where only 25 were made globally, after they found the original wood in the factory. Only three were shipped to the US and I have one of them.

As long as you love it and play it that’s what matters!

If you think about it he is the only famous guitarist I know of that didn't had a signature model for public sale. Respect for Prince.
Another brilliant episode Thom keep them coming!
Thanks!
The Greatest Solo. He owns that song.
He owned everyone on the stage that night! the way he smirks at Tom Petty while he's shredding! 🤣
I wonder how many of us looked for these on eBay and Reverb after seeing that Prince solo on My Guitar Gently Weeps?
I know I did! Legendary guitar.
Loves these things great video
Great history. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it

As I tell people every year around Super Bowl time, he played Purple Rain IN the rain... absolutely monster.

I always thought Prince was playing a Fender tele…but in my defense, I wasn’t focused too much on the guitar…I was watching Apollonia🫤
🤣 you and the rest of us, my friend. 🤣
Now in order to restore the disbalance in the universe space you have to purify yourself in Lake Minetonka.
I confess! I thought it was a Tele!! I also thought from the sound of his first album that he was using a Strat!
A lot of us did!

Thank you for this video. Is there a legitimate, reliable outlet to purchase an authentic version from?
I believe madcatguitars.com will have a list of authorized retailers.
