This intro. My god, it’s so good. That it’s just tossed off at the beginning of a fast food review podcast is incredible. Other creators would be assembling a book of essays and trotting it around to Terry Gross et al.
I re-watched the episode and realized that I bowled during High School at the original Bowlmor in Union Square in 1986. I was last there around 1999 when they started the disco bowling era.
Mitch could have easily saved his initial Angelina Folly by saying he was making a pun about the movie Monster (staring Charlize Theron) since it was the Monster Cookie Melt
I think everyone should read the Forrest Gump book at some point in their lives. To say it's slightly different from the film would be an understatement. Like the time Forrest is in a space rocket with a Orangutan and a female pilot which then crash lands in New Guinea and they almost all get eaten by cannibals multiple times. Forrest also forms a close friendship with said ape and the both of them along with Lieutenant Dan ride around New Orleans in a motor-trike together; a truely a magical tale.
Just in case someone gets the bright idea to challenge the pinsetter to a jerk off contest, just keep in mind that some of those things will literally crush you. There's no safety switch and its gear driven. Meaning there's no belts to slip when encountering resistance and there's nothing to tell it something is wrong. Technicians have died under those things. Also, string pinsetters are a new thing, not old school. You will see them more and more because they are cheaper in almost every way.

The most eloquent way yet that Wiger has used to say that Doughboys is his own enduring masterpiece, but also that its bad.
