    I really hated the last line stated in this vid. You should be pushing the narrative that it’s something for everyone not “nerds who don’t like traditional sports”.
    I’m sure there are tons of people like me in that crowd that enjoy participating and watch traditional sports as much as esports.

      Yes, you've got to be more open to everyone
      As long as both supporters are respectful to one another and respectful to each genre of sports and entertainment, basket ball, football, golf, boxing supporting gaming and esports.

    Just a slight thing about toxicity pushing girls away , it's not a female only thing , trash talk and toxicity ( more or less depending on the game ) is universal , I've had teams that were random and they were great , cracking jokes all game and lots of positivity , I've also had games with a bunch of toxic idiots .
    Like all of human society you get great people and ew people , also sidenote I've had several games with girls in my teams and if anything the guys playing seemed to be making an effort to be polite

    • @CR0WYT

      Mentally, they're slower in reflexes which is a key factor in competitive video games. They have a choice to join the regular tournaments but female pros know they won't win anything when they go there. They're really good but they're not as good as males.

    • @justroberto5052
      @justroberto5052 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There is though, men have a genetic advantage so your likely to have less woman competitors conpeteting at the same level. So for that reason I would say it makes sense to have another option to allow them to compete professionally.

    • @tofu_golem

      Look at the way female players get treated and ask again why feminism needs to be mentioned.

    • @elie_pink
      @elie_pink 5 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Paul T Sjordal everyone who played games gets harassed and experiences toxicity, not just women. Sure, women experience it to a higher rate, however, every esport is open to female players, just most esport games have vastly larger male player base over female. Males also tend to take the game more seriously and tend to strive to be professionals more than females.

    • @MortyrSC2
      @MortyrSC2 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@tofu_golem Feminist overlook every fact that doesn't fit their broken narrative.
      There is no harassment nor exclusion against women in professional esports. These people are professionals, not raging crybabies from reddit. Casual multiplayer gaming is toxic in general, but I've never, not once, witnessed toxicity targeted specifically at women. Firstly, because it's impossible to distinguish gender. How can you tell someone is a woman? By the nickname? One of my male friends uses nickname "TheGirlGamer", so... yeah... you can't tell.
      The fact that separate male and female leagues are not standard is a testament to how young and unrefined esport is. No one has a problem when women and men compete separately in swimming, volleyball and what not, but somehow gaming is different? Men have an evolutionary advantage in visual and auditory reaction times. This difference averages or is masked by other factors in general population, but here we are talking about best of the best of professional gamers. Every minor advantage makes a difference. Insisting to pit women against men in gaming is just unfair to women.
      As much as people like to believe that hard work and determination is enough to make it - it's not true. Natural predisposition, talent, whatever you call it, is necessary to be at the top of any discipline.

    • @kennethhon1407
      @kennethhon1407 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@tofu_golem The verbal abuse and flaming that comes with competitive gaming is not a gender issue but instead happens to pretty much everyone, not saying its a good thing but women aren't gonna be treated with care and respect by virtue of their genitals and quite frankly if they find it to be such an issue, then it's best they don't bother at all engaging with the community.
