About time. Admiteadly this song has been around in Soundcloud for year, but I havent uploaded it here untill now. I was busy with other things.

Yes, this is Understuck, lol. In our whatever year it currently is. There have been many throught years, but none of them were up to my liking. So while I wont bore you to death about my take, I will just mention few things.
They arent trapped underground, its post Homestuck- timeline wise. (around like Epilouge time) and Jade is "guardian" of sorts. She wants to protect you from being harmed by Rose Lalonde, by keeping you in the planet she governs over. (Rose is antagonist in this au, akin to Asgore. So she isnt evil persay, but you get the idea)
I do hope I can make this au in reality as an mspfa comic, but I am kind of busy as it is and people havent exactly expressed interest in this... so until that changes, its on my backburner.

It would be. I think I would call it "Reckoning" route. You wouldnt walk over Jade in this, as you did with Toriel in geno. The moment she confronted you about this and knew what you were trying to do. She would curb fucking stomp you. Something in the same vibes as TS!Underswap Asgore Geno Fight, something like that.

When I first listened to this over a year ago, I kinda dismissed it for no reason other than I don't like drums like that in Penumbra lol
But now actually having read Homestuck and the bullshit excuses out of the way.
This SONG IS SO FUCKING GOOD.
I love how it fuses pianoidea2 (more commonly knows as PP Piano) and awakeningcrap2, but then for Piano idea2's part of Showtime it uses SOTWW's Doctor, after that at 3:18 we get something similar to... Eternity Served Cold? Some awakeningcrap2 here, some nice choir there. Then, boom. It's the full quote of Doctor Penumbra Style.
We are not done yet tho. Because at the very end of this song, the last bit of SOTWW with the bitcrushed Doctor that I love very much, is played. Chef's kiss.

Colors are pleasant, HUD is lovely and Jade looks "sick af frfr"
For these reasons alone, this au deserves more attention.
Also, if they are not stuck underground, are they trapped by the narrative once again? Which is pretty evident, no shit this is a concept of an "underTALE" AU.

2nd. I am glad with your astute observation on musical refrences. I do recall this taking time to made like a year ago, because I wanted to make sure this was "THE" Penumbra Phanatasm homestuck remix, when there werent the ones I was satisfied with. Lunaxis has done her job perfect as usual. Also fun fact, the last part with Doctor was my idea, lol. I am glad there are people who are savvy enough to catch on them.
3rd Regarding au stuff, you are right they arent trapped underground. (I didnt want to do rehash like how most understucks I have seen doing that). Instead, they are trapped in narrative which is way more accurate to source material. As for why, well...
John Egbert unlike in Epilouges, hasnt in his au dealt with Lord English properly. Lets just say, his retcon powers messed up a lot of things, because they have gone haywire. Causing narrative mess, him going missing and LE bullshit still ongoing but not really.
Leaving mess that his friends had to deal with. And then Frisk enters the universe (they are not from hs unverse, an outsider basically.)
With retcon powers, something John used to have... They want to leave this universe. And the only way to do so, is leaving from that Cherub Portal (the one from hiveswap and hs: beyond canon that was introudced sometime ago). Which conviently is in Rose's Mansion residency pretty far away.
Anyways this is part I elaborate on Jade and Rose's whole deal. Rose, being Seer of Light and basically. Forsee this more or less and realises if she doesnt do right things. Everything will implode on itself. So basically, her goal is pretty simple. Kill Frisk and get thier retcon powers (since thats the only way to get that powers, and also Frisk is uncalculated risk) and fix all of this. And even tho, she isnt exactly keen on killing them, she rather not really. But since Its either everyone she cares about or them... Well, I think you know what she will be choosing....
Jade wasnt exactly thrilled with the idea, like at all. So her relationship with Rose deteriorated pretty badly. She isolated from most people (expect few people, like Dave, Karkat and such) to her own planet, where she now governs over and where Frisk appears.
So thats more or less it, lol.

(but hey, at least the best one wasn’t a deltarune one (god, i REALLY don’t want penumbra phantasm to get the same treatment as megalovaina and people think homestuck plagiarized deltarune)
Most of the UT/DT fandom is older now so hopefully that won’t happen again :c

looking back on this comment, i can see where my past self is coming from, a lot of people in my inner circle REALLY hate homestuck and i can see why, and this extends to Deltarune fans, because when Penumbra drops (which i DESPERATELY HOPE WILL NOT HAPPEN TOBY FOX I SWEAR TO GOG) Deltarune fans who don’t know of Homestuck and/or dislike homestuck will say it’s Deltarune’s song and that REALLY stings because we homestucks REALLY need to rebuild the fandom
especially after the epilogues’ controversy. but i personally suppose that a homestuck resurgence is coming in at MAXIMUM: 2029(because it would be homestuck’s 20 year anniversary). plus, for any of you not bored the hell out by this reply, one of my friends is going to make a homestuck inspired game, it’s called Cookie Quest.

first few things. There isnt chara in this au, as only Frisk got transported in homestuck world.
2nd, as far as routes go:
pacifist: frisk would convince/defuse jade to let them go by proving to her they can handle things on thier own
genocide/Reckoning: frisk would try to kill Jade, as she realizes there is something seriously wrong with them and tries to stop them before they can hurt anyone else.
