- Fischer-Z front-man John Watts and his parents tell in Brighton (England) the story behind the song ‘The Worker’. A short documentary by Top 2000 a gogo (Dutch Public TV) from 2007.
The best performance I listened on the BFBS on a concert in Germany.
Eerste Engelstalig nummer dat ik ooit direct begreep. Vergeet nooit mijn emoties toen hij het nummer enkele jaren geleden in Leuven aankondigde met "this is for me dad"
Geweldig!!!! what a pleasure to watch ⭐🌈🔊🎶🎵😊💖
Ik was 14 toen ik dit nummer hoorde in een soos waar ik kwam. De volgende dag meteen naar de platenzaak en de single gekocht. Weer wat later de lp. top nummer wat ik nog regelmatig draai. Tijdloos hun muziek. Neem Remember Russia bijvoorbeeld. Had vandaag uitgebracht kunnen worden.
love these repo's
The Worker is a brilliant Fisher Z song. Big fan of their first 3 albums.
I have all 3 of them on vinyl. : )
One of the coolest songs ever
Very civilised family.
Back in them days I thought Fischer Z was going to be the new Kinks, and Jong Watts the next Ray Davies.
Even has Waterloo Station in the lyrics
I like tat Dad looks the same age as his son. When I think of what an English Mum looks like I picture a woman like his mother.
John is still looking great
Mooi
"Bought a 69 Capri, failed the MOT .... What a waste of time ..."
Epic !!
Ford Capris were good cars but John had to come up with something that rhymed. :D
@@Module79L Everytime i sit in my car and listen to that song it makes me smile.
I know how it feels to fail the MOT, not funny and a waste of time and money.
Cheers mate
@@Roomer645 - It made me smile the first time I heard it because one of my neighbours had a Capri and that thing was bullet proof. I guess song lyrics aren't to be taken literally. :D
The famous MOT only became mandatory in Portugal in the late 90's...
@@Module79L The V6 was a good car. The 4 cyl's where a drag made for selling in the third world...
Simon & Garfunkel! 😅
I'd love hearing a Pavarotti cover, you know, opera like
It's that combination.
I am immediately caught again by that keys-part, the sort of reggae-like guitar, the voice.
Annoying miming in the video though.
De rukker
Een van de zegeningen der Coronacrisis: niemand hoeft meer dag in dag uit te forenzen om 'the worker' uit te hangen.
Een jaar geleden had U gelijk,
nu breken ze het ene file record na het ander
