    I work alone, got myself a garage, with heating to work in. I almost doubled my prices, and got more (and better) customers than ever!
    I've been doing detailing as a hobby, but it's becoming more than that. Thank you for teaching us to be better business owners!

      What heating are you using and is your garage separate from the house? Thank you

    • @Theseones
      @Theseones 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's separate, I live in an apartment. I really don't know what type of heating it is, I just know how to change the degrees. It's not a heating fan since they would be destroyed by the water/moisture. The ceiling has fans, one side of the wall has the heating box thing and the floor has a drain with a oil,dirt and water separator.

      Ideally find a heat source test will keep your shop at 70f year round.

    Hey Yvan, I enjoyed both of your classes and chatting after the classes at the table. Like I said in your class, we've sold the body shop and we're headed to the detail world full time very soon. We WILL be implementing your ideas in our shop! Thanks for everything.

    Thank you for filming this! I was wondering when you were talking about not wetting the interior too much, how were you cleaning carpet floor mats, were you pressure washing them? If yes how did you dry them fast? Thanks

    • @Detailers-Business-Academy
      @Detailers-Business-Academy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We used a dedicated Matt washing machine. Without that start by dry brushing them. Wetting them only creates mud.

    When you say, on average it costs between $75 and $95 an hour...you are referring to each employee costs that, correct?

    Thank you so much Yvan for sharing all your knowledge and wisdom. I hope you can give me advice, I put together a shop it all started as a hobby but over the years it became like a real shop with lots of tools, a lift, compressor, paint booth, etc, I want to make it a detailing or maybe a body shop, the problem is it’s located very far from the city, the question is what are your thoughts if it’s possible to build a business far from the city and not pay rent or you recommend trying renting a better location place but is very costly? I hope my english is not too rusty, thank you for your time.

    • @Detailers-Business-Academy
      @Detailers-Business-Academy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Far from the city is fine, it simply requires more marketing.

    It seems there a bit of a paradox in figuring your hourly cost and charging "per service". If you upgrade from a lint roller to using compressed air (as an example), your time goes down, so your cost goes down. But how do you think about what you charge as you find efficiencies through skill and equipment upgrades?

    Is it easier to wipe up dried N914 or the dried up polymer spots from ONR?

    A customer just called me and he has a 21 f350. He wanted a wash and wax and an interior detail. I said my price for interior is based on condition. He said that he doesn't want to book right now because he doesn't want to be stuck with a $700 bill and he will call around. His interior must be nasty. 😆
