This is a model we are considering for a summer home build we plan to do in a year or so. There are some changes we would want such as covered deck all the way around with doors out to it from each bedroom and making the windows off the living area, sliding doors. We would move a few other things, such as move the sink from the island over to the near the corner on countertop. I would rework the 2 guest bedrooms/bathroom, I want to put at least a queen bed and a set of bunk beds in each of those rooms to have room for kids/their spouses and our grandkids but overall we really like this one. I had looked at the floor plans for it but seeing your video was SO helpful. One other thing, we may actually build this so it is a second floor, using the lower level as garage, storage, covered patio area with outdoor fireplace but I've told my husband if we do this we either put in a big dumbwaiter or an elevator, I'm not lugging everything up steps.
Thanks Tim. I like the design of this house. More light compared to normal box shaped houses. While the house is circular the interior relies on squares rectangles and 90 degree shapes. Conflict. When I build my circular house. The internal shapes will compliment the exterior design. Round windows, tables, beds, doorways etc...
We have a few of these round houses where I live in western New York. They’ve been here for quite a long time, I am sure these modern ones are built much better.
Thanks Timothy! Spectacularly unique home. I love the generous windows and use of space. It reminds me of a luxurious take on the screwpile cottage lighthouses of the Chesapeake. Imagine it with a second level and a turret at the top. My only concern would be the unique furnishing challenges of the odd shaped spaces. E.g., the king bed in the master looks visually too close to the wall. But the design works really well for the living spaces. I have a friend who designed a custom home with a curved living space like this with an incredible view with a conventionally shaped home behind it for the bedrooms. It flows beautifully. So you can combine the styles if you've got a huge budget. This one is awfully expensive per square foot. Guess we'll need to play the lottery for something this unusual.

Actually a pretty cute little place. And there was more room than I thought there would be. Didn't care for the washer and dryer being in the bathroom. No fireplace...I love the fireplaces. Over all surprisingly cute.

In the 1960s these homes came out in Buncombe County (right next to Mars Hill). They were called roundettes. Kinda of a fad that never really caught on. Then in the mid 1990s a fella bought a package of about 7 used ones. He patched em up and created 3 or 4. They sold as vacation homes. They weren't made well originally and it showed in these 3 or 4. Bit of local history here in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina. 💙
I like this home but these people are insane on the price. At the end of the day, half a million dollars for a home that is less than 1,500 square feet is off putting to say the least, especially when it is a prefab home.
Beautiful but all bathrooms should have a separate commode room and lots and lots of shelves and cabinets everywhere, this does not. The kitchen does have but I would prefer the cabinets to go up higher.
Out here on the Navajo Nation they are called Hogans. Traditionally the door is always pointed to the East...to greet the rising sun
