Whenever he had to visit for birthdays or Xmas he would always complain every minute on the drive, whenever he met him at a family event, wedding or reunion, he stayed well away and when he got up to give the eulogy at Bob's funeral, he went on for about thirty minutes on how Bob ruined his chance to win $1000 pounds on Family Fortune.
It's probably also about being on a schedule with recordings/broadcasting, trying to keep a composure that makes you the host instead of just some ordinary bloke. All that pressure which can than turn you into a normal human being in just a fraction of a second.

There is a story called the Prince and the Pauper, which if you had only heard the name of could be pretty easily misremembered as "the princess and the porker" but that's just a guess. The Prince and the Pauper was written by Mark Twain, so doesn't really count as a fairy tale but thats splitting hairs at this point.
The UK ones are mostly always about the contestants and focus on them. The American ones are focussed on the presenter hogging the limelight with their OTT reaction to an obvious double entendre.
