- I recorded a bunch of episodes of Strike it Rich a few years back. Decided to go through them and pick out the best bits. Lots of funny ones and a few heartwarming moments too.

@AndrewWhitney1 He also entered the Celebrity Big Brother 4 house (in 2006) and came runner up next to winner 'Chantelle Houghton (a non celebrity). He was so shocked that people kept saving him, he broke down at one point, if I recall correctly, he became so over whelmed by the publics support for him.
He truly is a Lovely, Funny guy ..... UK are so lucky to have him :)

Barrymore was absolutely brilliant at presenting and interacting with people. He got away with with some much because it was fun and never malicious , people laughed with him and would go along with it. He seemed to bring out the best in people.
Such a shame a pool party ended his career.

If it wasn’t for what happened at his home that day when someone died he’d still be going now. I don’t think it’s ever been established what actually happened, but it certainly tarnished his tv career.

You couldn’t even write anything this funny, I grew up watching this show and loved it then but love it even more now as I’m grown up and can understand all the jokes, the way Michael reacts to what the contestants say is pure genius. this is like stand up comedy and a tv show 2nd
The only quiz you watched entirely for the comedic talents of the host. It is a crime how the media have treated this man over the years. He brought me and many others nothing but laughter and smiles.
That was so sweet of Micheal to sort out the prizes for the deaf contestants!

Michael and Brucie were the two finest comedy presenters we've ever seen. Both born entertainers. Such a terrible shame what happened to Michael, his career inevitably tanked.
It would be brilliant to see him back on our screens, but sadly it'll never happen.

This was when television was good. Best days ever. The tears stream down my face with laughter.
I wish sky gave this man a contract, or Netflix, I would have love to have seen him evolve and entertain into the 2000s and 2010s, I wanted to see how the people of the millennium reacted to his comedy, recently showed it to my nephew, and he was laughing like crazy.

We are reduced to shallow reality shows as a bulk of our entertainment when Michael can add so much more . What a better time this was, when Michael Barrymore could place his hand down the front of an old ladies dress. She laughed, he laughed, everyone laughed. Or swapping trousers with a midget. Just a bit of fun. Try doing that today. Real shame about Barrymore, he was a unique host who should have had a life long career in television.
It's a different world today. It's polished to the point where not much is allowed to go wrong too often which is the product they want to deliver.
Make no mistake though, this is more entertaining than 90% of the game shows in current existence.
He would have been ARRESTED for the hand down the dress thing today, and would be up before the court for sexual harassment.
EDIT: Even if the woman in question had no problem with it, the court of public opinion would want to cut his nuts off for that kind of move today. The left has basically outlawed any kind of fun or comedy at all, in their urge to try to create Orwell's 1984.
And we are VERY close to it now.

He’s everything Michael McIntyre wishes he was… this geezer, was the best no contest. Ledge of an entertainer.
His chats with the elderly still cracks me up, whatever you think of Mr Barrymore he had some amazing moments. I think only Bruce Forsyth was better when it came to talking to contestants.
Brucie was amazing and Michael was amazing
Bruce was good but hammy - he kind of just used the same in jokes each occasion but just slightly altered. It was a 'controlled' mayhem - with Barrymore it was genuine mayhem and chaos and it really showed through!
He was absolutely brilliant.

Barrymore's a genius. Pure alchemy, and even filming and technical breaks he turned into gold. My favourite english comedians were 'physical' like freddie starr, phil cool, norman collier, early cannon and ball. Comedy nowadays cannot compete with the warmth Barrymore brought to a TV set? Barrymore shows parallels with Bruce Forsyth, but he's much more insane, to my eyes. I feel lucky to have seen this stuff when it was brand new out of the box. So clever, the mix of danger and warmth. Thanks for posting!!!

Thanks so much for this upload. Watching Strike it Lucky/Rich over the least few weeks has given me a great many laughs in an otherwise difficult time. If only this comic genius was still on TV instead of half of the talentless, artless and charlmess robots who fill the screen these days presenting boring, polished, lame and politcally obsessed programmes that fill the airwaves. Of course there is good on tv now too and yes there was rubbish in the past but Barrymore is one in a million, a very unique talent.
Best game show invented and best host ever on British TV I could of watched another hour of that.

Innocent until proven guilty.......... He was proved innocent!!!!! We lost out on a great many laughs with Barry......Sorry, Michael. Bring him back please. In this bleak time of ours, we all need a Michael in our lives. Remember as a family growing up. We could all watch him, because even though he was hilarious to watch, he could be enjoyed by all of the family, young and old alike. He didn't need to swear or make sexual innuendos to make us laugh. He was totally unique and I wish to God he would come back and do what he does best....entertain. Thinking of you Barry. God bless. It would be great to think the criminal justice system says it all and is 100% effective. Not all criminals get caught, Jimmy Savile was a popular entertainer on screen but was never caught for what he is alleged to have done. The reason why some people are upset is that some witnesses/investigators say people on the day were drunk and high on cocaine, stuarts body had been attacked by sharp objects and Barrymore rather than calling the police decided to leave the house because they all realised "cops would be swarming around the place". Apparently he regrets the whole thing happened but appears to not want to discuss his personal responsibility in that a guest in his home suffered severe injuries and was left in the water while Barrymore decided to leave the scene.
Remember though....there are no ashtrays in Michael Barrymores house
