In history it says that Dapitan was formed by refugees from Bohol after their Kingdom called Dapitan in Bohol island was destroyed by Portuguese and Indonesian pirates.

I'm not sure if there's any restrictions solely for British people, but I've seen a lot of foreigners who visit Dapitan City.
