the detail and color on the main character sprite is pretty impressive for the NES. during some screens, you might think this was a Turbografx-16 game.
The enemy logic a lot more reasonable than the arcade counterpart, where whenever the player do a Jump maneuver the enemy decided to froze on the spot until the player lands. The NES counterpart has none of it.
This looks like a game I would've played in the late 80's as a kid, though it's somewhat lacking in distinction from other beat-em-ups in 2023. Good game, though.
That was probably the consensus at the time. P.O.W. was a mid-tier game both in the arcades and at home. Despite being more of a beat 'em up than a shooter, it still occupied the same space and competed against SNK's own Ikari Warriors and Guerilla War, which are very similar in theme. In the beat 'em up/hack 'n slash space, P.O.W. was below games like Double Dragon, Shinobi, Bad Dudes, and Ninja Warriors in terms of popularity.
I fought in the war, and I defeated the enemy with my flash kick!
Nice! Did he fly across the surface already in the laying down position?
@@qubonic No, but he served under General Mills.
General Mike Mills.
Congraturation!

I love this game it’s still nice
About time someone TASed this game.
Congraturation! 18:28 😂
This game had one of the most terrifying death screams, which is why I'm glad there is none of that in this run. Seriously, nightmare fuel in audio.
6:44 Jungle stage with Super Mario World theme.
i love how you can pass half of the game just walking
When your entire infantry is armed with like 7 rifles and some knives

@@Avrelivs_Gold Man, the man is killing us, man.
Any game with rifle butt-smashing is automatic 10/10.
I had this game. It was horrendous.
