Love the Aston in LMU. The most sexy car on the grid. And just pure joy driving from outside, to apex, and rumble strips on exits, especially on Monza.
What I think is - I'm sim racing as a retirement hobby. One of the hardest things I've had to learn is ways of coping with the multitude of young, dumb and full of c*m, artless young gents who I share races with, for whom other drivers are just NPCs. I know that younger drivers also include the best, fairest and fastest. But, there's always a few testosterone filled young bucks in each race, determined to win in the first lap, that make a mid or backfield start a miserable russian roulette for all involved.
I don’t understand why they don’t want to be the best they can be! There’s no way they’ll finish a race and not have a voice in the gut saying “You won, but did you earn it?”
I totally agree with you. I was doing a Formula Vee or 1600 race on iRacing and a guy went off track on turn 1, was able to come to a stop, turn around, but rejoined perpendicular to the track, when he had plenty of room to rejoin from the track edge. He ended up hitting my rear wheel, breaking it, causing me to tow back to the pits for a repair, but took me from 8th to last. I was trying to get safety rating, so not really trying to "race". I reported him because I feel that if we don't, it will just get worse. I had another situation at Spa doing formula race. Lap one, going into the chicane, a guy come flying straight at it, no breaks, t-Bones me and takes me completely out of the race (too much damage to continue). I didn't save the replay to report him, but that was a less learned. BTW - I enjoy your videos!
That was me in the silver Ferrari, I was on the inside of the track as far as I could go but kept getting squeezed further n further till I ended up almost vertical coming off the wall 😂😂😂😂 GMR 91 Btw
Right on there Dave theres so many on sim racing with no idea what a sporting code is, Im mostly in the bottom splits ( 70 year old guy no talent ) but i try to be fair .
What you said about things like that making people pack up sim racing is pretty much what's happened to me. I'd place myself as an amateur and I was struggling with confidence in online lobbies. When you come up against people like that, who use bully tactics to keep their place, it can further knock your confidence. I was also getting frustrated that no matter what I tried I couldn't improve my times and techniques, so I've sold my sim gear and I don't have any intentions on replacing it. I'll still be watching your videos as I enjoy your content, but I'll no longer be racing.
There’s some absolute weapons on here Dave, I’d like to tell you the driving standard improves in the higher splits, but it doesn’t (I’m assuming this isn’t top split by the lap times so forgive me if it is). Absolutely love the game though, can’t stop driving it at the minute.
Nice video! I would like to see more LMU on your Channel because I think it is always fun and interesting racing. By the way: Can you recommend the Sabelt SRS seat that you are using? I myself consider buying one. Will you do a review on that soon? Thanks in advance.
SPA is always a shit show. Great driving and a fun video. They buffed the Aston a bit to bring it almost in line with the other cars. It is super fun to drive. Loving the LMU content.
Great race from you as usual Dave, I enjoy LMU, not so much the driving standards, not saying we dont have situations in Iracing, but still needs improvement imo
@@adolfobisi6027 100% I mainly drive GTPs, I did the special event 100min of Imola on LMU and didn’t like the driving standards.. situations where on IMSA in Iracing I’d have been on voice chat 😭
You need to qualify Dave. Firstly the DR system puts a lot of weight on where you quali and secondly you'll be away from the muppets. Unfortunately a lot of people tend to drive like it's Forza or something on LMU, people do get banned but it's very slow as the team is quite small and there's a ton of reports going through. Aside from that, more LMU videos please!
LMU is great, I'm trying to learn to not lock up. I really don't want to use the brake assist and learn the hard way but it seems everyone online is using the assist.
Nice and smooth for the initial application then squeeze the pedal if you need a little more when the front end is already pushed right into the track. I don't use any brake assists 👍
Another great race buddy! Would you consider making some content on how you create your videos. They look great. How you record the footage and then to the edit. The software you use etc? Id like to make my uploads a bit more easier on the eye!
@@davecamyt Something for the back pocket 😉 I was hoping to see some footage of us from the IMSA @ Road America yesterday but think you had a rough one in the LMP2. Hopefully feature in one of your videos in the future!
'Kostas cost us!!' - you're not wrong, it's frustrating and I'd also argue it reduces the realism, no real driver would be so cavalier with a real car and real opponents, not for long anyway!
Good content as always Just bought la prima bundle, may you help me with ffb settings. Ffb in iracing is heavy and dull, feels like i am lifting the whole car not turning wheel and feeling suspension. I hope I make sense, if i can copy yours then twick them to my like thanks
To be fair, this is what happens when you don’t get murdered immediately when someone looks at your car wrong like in iRacing. In iRacing you would have been dead 5-6 times
I've thought about this a lot cause I love sim racing and real racing. I use it for practice single player only. I to time attack in rl and learn the track mainly. Right now I'm competing for a national championship and the sim gets more like a tool ever year. I did sim race quite a bit and people ruin it. So if you want real racing while the answer is simple you have to go real racing.
Do reports actually results in anything in LMU? i did a couple in the past but haven't received any sort of feedback, not even "we've received your report" so i assumed since because it's an early access they aren't really taking any action on those reports, they need money to keep developing after all and i feel like if they start handing out suspensions people won't buy it.
Is this game worth getting? The reviews say "mixed." If you actually read them it's people just seething over the season pass instead of reviewing the game though.
He deserved all of it IMO. Outside of the fruitier descriptions Dave gave him during the race, the replay analysis criticism was on point and Kostas better watch it and learn from his mistakes. Even if he was having a bad day, there's no excuse for affecting other people's races.
23:25 Simracing is getting more realistic everyday
Thanks for noticing my shit humour 😁
"The Aston feels great to drive" *flies off at every corner*
In all seriousness though nice video, LMU looks nice.

Let’s go LMU! Really liking it as a game recently. Though I do wish there were a few more weekly race options, and people to fill them
Lack of content is the biggest issue, and now season 2024 is more expensive than standard game + it has less content :F

we need pressure from the community to force the devs to add a decent report system, otherwise this situation is only gonna get worse.
