Here's the background for the answers you didn't know about:
- Netherite axes can only oneshot a player with Sharpness; they do 15 damage with a critical hit if unenchanted.
- Emeralds were originally Rubies before they were added. They were changed to Emeralds because Dinnerbone is colorblind, and he pointed out that people who are colorblind couldn't tell the difference between Redstone Ore and Ruby Ore at a glance.
- There IS a purpose for Beacon beams passing through Bedrock - it allows you to have Beacons in the Nether if you destroy all of the netherrack above it.
- The question about where cats can sit was about how they sometimes sit on certain blocks without you telling them to (which prevents chests from being opened when they sit on them).
- Redstone dust doesn't have 16 block states; it has ones for its connections on each side as well as its power.
- /blockdata used to be a command, but in 1.13 /blockdata and /entitydata were merged into a single command, /data.
- /structure is a command in Bedrock Edition, but only Structure Blocks are used in Java Edition.
also I'm pretty sure "torns" was supposed to be "thorns"
Redstone dust does have 16 unique placements. 4 for one connection, 4 for an L-shaped connection, 2 for straight lines, 4 for three point connections, 1 for no connections, and 1 with four connections. There are 16 different ways to place redstone on the ground, and technically there are 16x16 ways yo have redstone because of the scaling power levels it can carry
structure blocks are and have been in bedrock edition for a while actually

You can still block arrows after they are in the air. There is just a delay for when the shield functions.

You can't raise a shield instantly, but that shouldn't retroactively negate the effect of a shield that is _already raised to block._

33:30 Rubies were a pre-snapshot thing. They were changed to emeralds because one of the employees was colorblind.
Mobs, blocks, glowsquid ink? They're yours my friend, as long as you have the rubies.
In the first snapshot with emerald ore, it was red, because Jeb forgot to change the texture. Breaking it gave green emeralds though.
Another fun bit of trivia - Notch's precursor game to Minecraft was called RubyDung. It was never released, but various bits of it were used in MC, including cobblestone and grass blocks.

I really like that they put shapes on the different colors of wool so that colorblind people can tell the difference.
I can't believe he remembered the Nether wood types easier than Acacia...
to be fair tho, the nether woods are relatively new, and Acacia is very forgettable.

Honestly how would you make him not do that if you want him to type on the keyboard? It's _technically_ possible to use about 60 armourstands and your sanity to make fingers, but it's really complicated and you need about 40 models for it to work properly.

*On level 19, I can do the part that uses 4 blocks, with 2 blocks.
Redstone dust actually has way more than 16 block states, it's power levels times the directions it can be connected in, and also includes whether it's going up a level on each side, so it's 1296 total states.
"blockdata" isn't a command anymore since 1.13, it's "/data [get/merge/etc] block"

I wish there was more modded parkour. There's a lot of really cool movement stuff in a lot of mods, like Tinker's Construct and botania (The mana blaster has kick that can boost jumps, and there are double/triple jump things)

Even if the shield appears up, it takes a little bit to actually be up for blocking.
btw, the shield doesn't actually calculate whether the arrow was fired before you block with the shield. it just has a 0.5 second timer before it actually blocks damage
Just a note, puzzle 19 was made far harder than it was intended. If the push blocks constantly pushed the blocks then that would have been the required solution, but as it is, they only push the block that lands on them the moment it is pushed on and not after, so you could have put 1 block to the left, pushed another block onto the push block, then pushed the block on the left up another space and just work your way up that way and not have to deal with grabbing the blocks on the ice parts on either side.
Me: yelling at Jordan for not using the barriers.

When i play minecraft servers, i strictly play speed builders on mineplex. Him playing the building minigame hurts me to an immeasurable degree.

33:41 jeb, who created the early textures, is red-green colorblind. Notch wanted to add a nom-diamond gem ore and originally intended it to be a ruby, but because jeb was red-green colorblind it was changed to emerald. It was never in a changelog (i think)
It was actually because of Dinnerbone (The person that had the red-green colorblindness) that they changed the ore from Ruby to Emerald. It was so Dinnerbone could differentiate the two and not confuse it with Redstone.
