Have some great memories of RAF Cottesmore TTTE crash gate 3,I used to cycle from Melton Mowbray as a 13 year old lad to watch the Tornado, then on family holidays to Mablethorpe I used to sit in the sand dunes high up with my 20x50 binoculars watching the next phase crews from TWCU at Honington do bomb runs down the beach towards Donna nook, great memories.

I was passing through at Akky a few years ago and loved watching these old warhorses take to the sky!

Great video. Absolute bulldog of a fighter/bomber, sadly missed. Video shows how key the ground crew are in getting the plane into the air.

The undisputed Queen of Low Level precision strike, especially in the skilled hands of RAF crews and one of the unsung heroes of Desert Storm. I hope the RAF and HM's Government have the presence of mind to keep one or two in flying conditions instead of scrapping them or sold for scrap, as with the iconic Harriers.

Excellent replacement for the Phantom but not as manoeuvrable as the English Electric Lightning.
