Orochimaru was high rated as a threat to the village because he had insider detailed information about many things like kekai genkai, abilities, personalities, barriers, etc.
And was stronger than the other enemies, Sasori had arguably as much intel on Suna, Deidara stole most the forbidden scrolls so it’s probably just not a knowledge thing

@Virhtue oh okay, it's not even really a problem for me if someone says they think Itachi > Pain, they're fairly relative and each have pro's and con's in the matchup. And it depends a lot on the stipulations for each characters state of being. That's why I was like, saying one is objectively above the other is kind of dog water lol. I'm glad to know it wasn't a legitimate statement.

A good piece to show Kakuzu over Yuugito is that he stated when fighting Kakashi that it's been a long time since he had two hearts destroyed which considering he's the oldest Naruto character at 90 and had just fought the Two Tails like over a week ago. Which was by having his second heart pierced by Hidan's jutsu that negs durability, the same one that was shown to be the deciding blow as they weren't allowed to kill the Jinchuriki which that as well goes to him scaling over with him holding back and Yuugito going for the kill which means even against a Perfect Jinchuriki he lost none of his hearts, lost one of his hearts from the initial two big attacks we are shown at first (paw strike and fireball that blew up the building), or that he lost one of his hearts at some point in the battle as we are shown that the sky went from blue to sunset and hidan doing his ritual for only 30 minutes implying the battle was rather lengthy. The only other times we've seen a heart destroyed is with Raikiri which can penatrate V1 Lightning Cloak, threaten Tendo, and stun V2 Jinchuriki and the other a Six Paths Tool from Kinkaku that was part of the arsenal that scared the 4th Raikage, nearly killed Tobirama and another Raikage and is noted to be above the Five Kage as well as a Rasenshuriken, which like Hidan's jutsu negs durability even though he surivived the former. And for Hidan doing anything against Perfect Yuugito is that he would be as much help as Zabuza agaisnt Gamabunta cause he self admitted that Kakuzu is usually the doer of the pair, not to down play him as he was shown to survive the Fireball point blank and tank Asuma's Fire Style no problem which in the War Arc he used the same justsu on enlarged Choza that it stunned him for a few pages and being an Edo Tensei it should have been less potent in AP but Hidan was able to heal it off as well as the multiple stab wounds inflicted by himself, Asuma and Shikamaru in a week while spending chakara sealing two Bijuu in a row.

It is suggested the Sannin have been out of the village for more about ten years, however, that is exactly how much younger Orochimaru says Hiruzen would have had to be to be able to kill him during the Konoha Kuzushi, so the idea that the weaker Sannin a decade ago were close to/approaching a stronger Hiruzen when the present Sannin are still weaker than than younger Hiruzen seems off, which in turn seems to suggest Rin no Sho's statement is in present tense. "After chasing Orochimaru's tail for ten years, he returned home, but what does fate have in store for him..." - Viz Hyō no Sho (Fanbook), page 54 Kakashi in Part I whilst rusty is equal to or greater than Zabuza who is part of the strongest seven of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen, all of him are already nigh Mizukage tier, which would suggest Kakashi is already Kage-level even before retraining himself. Kakashi was in a coma the first time Jiraiya was offered the Hokage mantle, for what that is worth. Not exactly chosen over him. Raidō Kokutō's did not pierce Kakuzu, he blocked it via hardening the side of his head with Earth Spear. Ino notes that Hidan is used as cannon-fodder to set up Kakuzu's attacks, it seems he is better at withstanding larger area of effect attacks compared to cutting. The Village's Enemies section was even before the Akatsuki or really even Itachi were revealed, so it is likely not considering them. Deidara notes he underestimated Gaara when he captured him, and he likely did not plan on losing an arm (kudos for his ability to quickly turn that to his favour, though), so I would not really call him a master at capturing hosts. He was trying to go above quota, though, much to Sasori's chagrin. In the manga is suggested the Sandaime Kazekage puppet is not any weaker than it was in life, and Sasori's own body is said to be his strongest puppet, automatically placing him above him. This would also make him stronger than Chiyo who was active during Sandaime Kazekage's era. Sasori controlling Sandaime Kazekage with his fingers is him holding back. If he controlled it with his core there would be no input lag, and even with his fingers Sakura at one point saw Sasori's movements with the puppet against the Mother and Father as a blur, and I imagine Sasori is less likely to underestimate a Sannin compared to a hag and a brat. Sha no Sho states Sasori's main body's ability to split apart is "invulnerability", so technically it is all the durability he needs. The Mangekyō does not make the user stronger or faster. That is more to do with the Susanoo, and even then, Nagato was caught off-guard since Itachi blinded him. The Nidaisengama did not place Pain's summons under genjutsu. That was stunning them with soundwaves. Samehada might just be able to absorb it regardless. Kisame in Akatsuki Hiden was able to place himself within a Water Prison as a defensive manuver which would likely disrupt the Toad Confrontation Chant, and Jiraiya's high end shape and nature transformation could likely be countered by Kisame's strongest Water Release.
The genjutsu part is because the itachi haters don't like the fact that Tsukuyomi isn't normal sharingan genjutsu that is resisted by sage mode users! A person I was fighting with told me to watch the episode where granny chiyo told kakashi how to deal with genjutsu and kakashi said the opposite to what he said!

Jiraiya seem to have counters for Amaterasu and Genjutsu. Well some of the path abilities can’t really be used, like Obito only uses the Preta ability once and just mainly used the animal path for the reanimations so for Madara there are many reasons, you could say in his old age, he couldn’t of, due to him either not knowing it or being too aged already with too many amps prolonging his original life force and Zetsu would be the only thing that helps and that won’t work
Edo Itachi who was buffee with infinite chakra and healthy had to be in a 3v1 combinee attack to stop chibaku tensei from Edo Nagato who was being controlled by Kabuto and immobile. Jiraiya would blitz Itachi. Itachi couldn't even defeat the 3 paths of Pain whom Jiraiya took out
Bro, itachi is not beating pain, his Amaterasu can be repelled, tsukoyomi can’t affect the rennegan because it’s a visual rinnegan and itachi can only hold the Susano for a few minutes. And that itachi can only use 3 ms abilities or he goes bling. Itachi is simply hard counter by pain. Then why I think that sage jiraiya is stronger than sage Naruto. You said a few like the distance, the Pains where closer to nagato in jiraiya fight, but we can’t really scale that. Then you said that there were fewer pains so each one was stronger, but I don’t think you fully understand it, if 6 pains are fighting at the same time that means that each pain get 1/6 of the total power because the power being sent by nagato is equally distributed between the pains. So using basic maths I can simply say that the human, animal and Perda path were 2 times stronger than the ones Naruto was fighting. Scale that down to one pain and you get one that is receive all the power like in jiraiya’s case, he fought a animal path that was 6 times stronger than naruto’s animal path. Plus Naruto had an giant amount of info about them and jiraiya had nothing, plus Naruto came with prep, he was already in sage mode when the fifth started, but jiraiya had to charge it then and there. Also pain fought the strongest village, and entire villlage, then sindra tensei it, there were out of chacra. And if your talking about the paths physicality, specially the human path that stopped his punch, that one was 2 times stronger than the one against Naruto. Naruto had all of the avanteges somebody could of had and he still lost, jiraiya did much better than naruto could ever have done against pain, just Imagine jiraiya pulling up like naruto did with naruto’s advantages, he would have slammed pain ( ok maybe not slammed but you get the point).

Deidara should’ve won anyway. He let his emotions affect him too much. He was too low to the ground to begin with. He should’ve been bombing susuke from so high up it would’ve been impossible for susuke to counter effectively. Specially after Tobi set up the mines. Even if somehow Sasuke could reach him, he simply could fly away.
I feel he makes it to Deidara and probably loses, draws or wins _extreme_ diff The bombing runs will be TOO dangerous for ma and pa so SM is actually gonna be a dangerous gamble since ma and pa have to remain on his shoulders

Honestly i think jiraiya might be the strongest of the sannin when there all put at thei peaks of Shippuden with his arsenal of jutsu being a big advantage though orochimaru is more than likely his equal and Tsunade just loses most of the time
@@Virhtue yeah agreed people think jiraiya is the weakest pointing towards his fight against the paths of pain whereas Tsunade fought Madara but they forget to realize that for a good chunk of his fight he couldn't really use his jitsu and the paths of pains are generally high jonin lvl combatants on the low end and near kage lvl towards the middle to high end and when you restrict jutsu it doesn't help

Moreover, Sasuke surprised Orochimaru with a lightning attack coming through the door, but Orochimaru reacted to it while dreadfully sick. Sasuke was still not confident enough, even with Orochimaru in this state, to attack him upfront. I think Sasuke surpassed Orochimaru after his fight against Danzo, but I honestly can't demonstrate it properly. I would argue that every time there is a one-to-one between Naruto and Sasuke, it's a stamp affixing they entered another level of power and that they are very close in power. We could assume that since Naruto surpassed Jiraiya, who was close in power to Orochimaru, Sasuke probably did surpass Orochimaru at this moment. But I'm doing gymnastics right there... Take it with a grain of salt.
Before watching Im gonna have fun and take a guess. Jiriaya beats Hidan, Kakuzu, Zetsu, Deidara, Sasori, Kisame and we all saw him take Konan. He loses to the final 3 but a hypothetical Sage Jiriaya MIGHT take Itachi 6/10 high difficulty, though I dont believe he'd get the chance for sage mode against Itachi.
Yall really do hate Sasori fr😂. Yall keep downplaying his durability and speed. Sakura can perform those punches with a miniscule amount of chakra due to her chakra control. Her strength does not weign until the very end of the fight also she is one of the absolute hardest hitters in the verse utilising a close combat technique only used by Tsunade and Hashirama, and even then she was not completely oneshotting his puppets. As for his actual body it can burst apart and be put back together which helps impact distribution. As for his speed, he is definitely on base Sanin level as he kept up with Chiyo who fought Hanzo multiple times throughout the 2nd ninja war, enough times to capture his posoin as well as know how his salamander behaves in combat. The sand overly relied on her as well as her brother for military strength over the decades, so even if she was old she was still in good shape, And Sasori was working her throughout the fight. Jiraiya would have to expend chakra on jutsu to break the puppets and Sasori's body unlike Sakura. Sage mode is a different story, it will definitely give him the strength needed to dispose of puppets in about 1 hit of taijutsu but it takes time for him to charge. He would have to rely on on his summons for the bulk of protection from the iron sand /puppets but they can be killed and Sasori bares the deadliest poison in the verse. As well as Iron Sand which could definitely be used to combat and defend against multiple targets. Sasori could also potentially use an Iron sand platform and float while controlling his puppets, giving him the range advantage. Jiraiya just needs to be hit one time. And Sasori could do it. I feel like yall fail to understand how cracked he is because he "lost" to Sakura and Chiyo. He would have killed both of them many times over where it not for their perfect combination and the antidote.id say Jiraiya's only win con with him is to acheive sage mode as a base fight would be a slow losing battle for him.
While Tsunade is strong I don't think she beats him as long as he gets sage mode out sage mode is a massive amp and a perfect sage mode put Naruto blatantly above Tsunade so an incomplete sage mode should make them relative jiraiya also gets precog and some high lvl genjutsu via ma and pa he also has an incredibly powerful and versatile set of jutsus I think jiraiya wins a Majority of the time against Tsunade and loses to a same time frame orochimaru slightly more than he wins
pain is somewhat of a counter for itachi. Ask yourself how many people in naruto can even counter Amaterasu? Not a lot. Pain has literally the two strongest counters (preta path and shinra tensei). Pain has counters for genjutsu as well. The pain bodies are just dead bodies. A genjutsu isn’t going to “hurt” them the same way it did to kakashi. They don’t even feel pain. The one path got twisted in wire, her body all distorted. The animal path I believe against the anbu guy. She didn’t even flinch. So basically Tsukiyomi is useless if there are no side effects (pain is already a dead body) so what does he have? Susanoo? Thats chakra and should be able to be absorbed. No reason it can’t. Totsuka blade? Well I have a theory the pains can just resummon themselves like they do. Or reverse summon back to the battle field. (This however is just a theory) totsuka is itachis only hope. Pain fights by using multiple attackers. The one thing itachi wants to avoid. Itachi wants to 1 shot u and leave as his techniques require loads of chakra. Pain counters in by sensing when he’s gonna use his jutsu like he did when nagato senses Edo itachi about to use Justus and can even distinguish between the two. Add a load of summons invisible chameleon (that Naruto couldn’t even sense, an immortal dog, flyers etc…) yea itachi is NOT beating pain
Base Jariya beats deidara. He will be forced to summon toads to cover distance but no sage needed for him. Sage will only come to play maybe entering kisame.

All the details about the hearts jutsus are from databooks, same for the Hashirama parts. You may not agree but Kakuzu would tank any physical techniques Jiraya has, base or sage. The kamui part of Kakashi is stated after the fight, that he would use it vs kakuzu's combined jutsu to save themselves, another proof that Kakashi was pressed in his battle. The part where Kakuzu dodge raido's blade is factual aswell, it is a poisonous blade, stated in his databook, he is a jonin diedicated for the Hokage protection. @@Virhtue Diedra can fly outside of his range of effectiveness. His bombs can deal with any summoning besides Ma and Pa. C0 or C2 instantly ko Jiraiya whether he's in sage mode or not. Sasori is stronger than Diedra by his own admission. He held back against Chiyo and Sakura. His 3rd Kazekage puppet defeats Jiraiya because of iron sand and poison. Kisame arguably beats him via better feats. We know Orochimaru already beats him. Konan only lost to him because he thought her and knew her weakness otherwise she arguably beats him. Itachi, Pain, and Obito stomp.

The waterbullets of his big summons are strong and He can shoot them at deidaras bombs or kisames sharkbombs to counter the attacks and Not get HIT. In sage Mode he would trie to overpower kisame but i think kisame is as strong and fast because i think sage jiraya should be v1 killerbee speedlvl and kisame could keep um with him. If jiraya lands a rasengan kisame can absorb it or take it and swiping at him with samehada to absorb his chakra like he did with the lariat, one swing takes sage mode away in my opinion. If He goes for frogsong kisame can summon th waterbuble or go straight for supersharkbomb which would also counter his big rasengan if he goes for it. His fire oil komboattacks kisame would also counter by using very big wateshockwaves and compensat the Lack of elements by watermass. In case of deidara, i think He would get on the c2 dragon and bomb him down but jiraya can counter the explosions with his elemental combos. The Problem for him would be to reach deidara because He can fly very fast and high and even if his dragon gets destroyed he can make a bird. He can try with big summons to jump in the air and HIT him but deidara is Not domb he would fly even higher and if He Sees c2 is Not working he will drop a c3 and oneshot them all once.

A good piece to show Kakuzu over Yuugito is that he stated when fighting Kakashi that it's been a long time since he had two hearts destroyed which considering he's the oldest Naruto character at 90 and had just fought the Two Tails like over a week ago. Which was by having his second heart pierced by Hidan's jutsu that negs durability, the same one that was shown to be the deciding blow as they weren't allowed to kill the Jinchuriki which that as well goes to him scaling over with him holding back and Yuugito going for the kill which means even against a Perfect Jinchuriki he lost none of his hearts, lost one of his hearts from the initial two big attacks we are shown at first (paw strike and fireball that blew up the building), or that he lost one of his hearts at some point in the battle as we are shown that the sky went from blue to sunset and hidan doing his ritual for only 30 minutes implying the battle was rather lengthy. The only other times we've seen a heart destroyed is with Raikiri which can penatrate V1 Lightning Cloak, threaten Tendo, and stun V2 Jinchuriki and the other a Six Paths Tool from Kinkaku that was part of the arsenal that scared the 4th Raikage, nearly killed Tobirama and another Raikage and is noted to be above the Five Kage as well as a Rasenshuriken, which like Hidan's jutsu negs durability even though he surivived the former. And for Hidan doing anything against Perfect Yuugito is that he would be as much help as Zabuza agaisnt Gamabunta cause he self admitted that Kakuzu is usually the doer of the pair, not to down play him as he was shown to survive the Fireball point blank and tank Asuma's Fire Style no problem which in the War Arc he used the same justsu on enlarged Choza that it stunned him for a few pages and being an Edo Tensei it should have been less potent in AP but Hidan was able to heal it off as well as the multiple stab wounds inflicted by himself, Asuma and Shikamaru in a week while spending chakara sealing two Bijuu in a row.

Want to fight opponents are not always feasible for them to beat, Pain wanted to fight the full Kyūbi, whilst Kakashi wanted to fight Minato, which both seem unlikely to be a close match.
It is suggested the Sannin have been out of the village for more about ten years, however, that is exactly how much younger Orochimaru says Hiruzen would have had to be to be able to kill him during the Konoha Kuzushi, so the idea that the weaker Sannin a decade ago were close to/approaching a stronger Hiruzen when the present Sannin are still weaker than than younger Hiruzen seems off, which in turn seems to suggest Rin no Sho's statement is in present tense.

Kakashi in Part I whilst rusty is equal to or greater than Zabuza who is part of the strongest seven of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen, all of him are already nigh Mizukage tier, which would suggest Kakashi is already Kage-level even before retraining himself.
Kakashi was in a coma the first time Jiraiya was offered the Hokage mantle, for what that is worth. Not exactly chosen over him.
Raidō Kokutō's did not pierce Kakuzu, he blocked it via hardening the side of his head with Earth Spear.
Ino notes that Hidan is used as cannon-fodder to set up Kakuzu's attacks, it seems he is better at withstanding larger area of effect attacks compared to cutting.
The Village's Enemies section was even before the Akatsuki or really even Itachi were revealed, so it is likely not considering them.
Deidara notes he underestimated Gaara when he captured him, and he likely did not plan on losing an arm (kudos for his ability to quickly turn that to his favour, though), so I would not really call him a master at capturing hosts. He was trying to go above quota, though, much to Sasori's chagrin.
In the manga is suggested the Sandaime Kazekage puppet is not any weaker than it was in life, and Sasori's own body is said to be his strongest puppet, automatically placing him above him. This would also make him stronger than Chiyo who was active during Sandaime Kazekage's era.
Sasori controlling Sandaime Kazekage with his fingers is him holding back. If he controlled it with his core there would be no input lag, and even with his fingers Sakura at one point saw Sasori's movements with the puppet against the Mother and Father as a blur, and I imagine Sasori is less likely to underestimate a Sannin compared to a hag and a brat.
Sha no Sho states Sasori's main body's ability to split apart is "invulnerability", so technically it is all the durability he needs.
The Mangekyō does not make the user stronger or faster. That is more to do with the Susanoo, and even then, Nagato was caught off-guard since Itachi blinded him.
The Nidaisengama did not place Pain's summons under genjutsu. That was stunning them with soundwaves. Samehada might just be able to absorb it regardless.
Kisame in Akatsuki Hiden was able to place himself within a Water Prison as a defensive manuver which would likely disrupt the Toad Confrontation Chant, and Jiraiya's high end shape and nature transformation could likely be countered by Kisame's strongest Water Release.

Well some of the path abilities can’t really be used, like Obito only uses the Preta ability once and just mainly used the animal path for the reanimations so for Madara there are many reasons, you could say in his old age, he couldn’t of, due to him either not knowing it or being too aged already with too many amps prolonging his original life force and Zetsu would be the only thing that helps and that won’t work

Yall really do hate Sasori fr😂. Yall keep downplaying his durability and speed. Sakura can perform those punches with a miniscule amount of chakra due to her chakra control. Her strength does not weign until the very end of the fight also she is one of the absolute hardest hitters in the verse utilising a close combat technique only used by Tsunade and Hashirama, and even then she was not completely oneshotting his puppets. As for his actual body it can burst apart and be put back together which helps impact distribution. As for his speed, he is definitely on base Sanin level as he kept up with Chiyo who fought Hanzo multiple times throughout the 2nd ninja war, enough times to capture his posoin as well as know how his salamander behaves in combat. The sand overly relied on her as well as her brother for military strength over the decades, so even if she was old she was still in good shape, And Sasori was working her throughout the fight. Jiraiya would have to expend chakra on jutsu to break the puppets and Sasori's body unlike Sakura. Sage mode is a different story, it will definitely give him the strength needed to dispose of puppets in about 1 hit of taijutsu but it takes time for him to charge. He would have to rely on on his summons for the bulk of protection from the iron sand /puppets but they can be killed and Sasori bares the deadliest poison in the verse. As well as Iron Sand which could definitely be used to combat and defend against multiple targets. Sasori could also potentially use an Iron sand platform and float while controlling his puppets, giving him the range advantage. Jiraiya just needs to be hit one time. And Sasori could do it. I feel like yall fail to understand how cracked he is because he "lost" to Sakura and Chiyo. He would have killed both of them many times over where it not for their perfect combination and the antidote.id say Jiraiya's only win con with him is to acheive sage mode as a base fight would be a slow losing battle for him.

pain is somewhat of a counter for itachi. Ask yourself how many people in naruto can even counter Amaterasu? Not a lot. Pain has literally the two strongest counters (preta path and shinra tensei). Pain has counters for genjutsu as well. The pain bodies are just dead bodies. A genjutsu isn’t going to “hurt” them the same way it did to kakashi. They don’t even feel pain. The one path got twisted in wire, her body all distorted. The animal path I believe against the anbu guy. She didn’t even flinch. So basically Tsukiyomi is useless if there are no side effects (pain is already a dead body) so what does he have? Susanoo? Thats chakra and should be able to be absorbed. No reason it can’t. Totsuka blade? Well I have a theory the pains can just resummon themselves like they do. Or reverse summon back to the battle field. (This however is just a theory) totsuka is itachis only hope. Pain fights by using multiple attackers. The one thing itachi wants to avoid. Itachi wants to 1 shot u and leave as his techniques require loads of chakra. Pain counters in by sensing when he’s gonna use his jutsu like he did when nagato senses Edo itachi about to use Justus and can even distinguish between the two. All the details about the hearts jutsus are from databooks, same for the Hashirama parts. You may not agree but Kakuzu would tank any physical techniques Jiraya has, base or sage. The kamui part of Kakashi is stated after the fight, that he would use it vs kakuzu's combined jutsu to save themselves, another proof that Kakashi was pressed in his battle.

Sasori is stronger than Diedra by his own admission. He held back against Chiyo and Sakura. His 3rd Kazekage puppet defeats Jiraiya because of iron sand and poison. Kisame arguably beats him via better feats. We know Orochimaru already beats him. Konan only lost to him because he thought her and knew her weakness otherwise she arguably beats him. @@Virhtue i think in both fights jiraya would get into sage Mode because He can use his summons to play long range. The waterbullets of his big summons are strong and He can shoot them at deidaras bombs or kisames sharkbombs to counter the attacks and Not get HIT. In sage Mode he would trie to overpower kisame but i think kisame is as strong and fast because i think sage jiraya should be v1 killerbee speedlvl and kisame could keep um with him. If jiraya lands a rasengan kisame can absorb it or take it and swiping at him with samehada to absorb his chakra like he did with the lariat, one swing takes sage mode away in my opinion. If He goes for frogsong kisame can summon th waterbuble or go straight for supersharkbomb which would also counter his big rasengan if he goes for it. His fire oil komboattacks kisame would also counter by using very big wateshockwaves and compensat the Lack of elements by watermass. In case of deidara, i think He would get on the c2 dragon and bomb him down but jiraya can counter the explosions with his elemental combos. The Problem for him would be to reach deidara because He can fly very fast and high and even if his dragon gets destroyed he can make a bird. He can try with big summons to jump in the air and HIT him but deidara is Not domb he would fly even higher and if He Sees c2 is Not working he will drop a c3 and oneshot them all once.
