I Built an Epic Roller Coaster Track with a Reverse Incline Start!

- Hey everyone and welcome back to more Zeepkist! Today we are building roller coaster tracks so I decided to build one of the designs I've seen at many parks which is a reverse incline launch coaster!

Its a vekoma boomerang. They are very common as they are relatively cheap for a rollercoaster and a standard layout offered by Vekoma which doesnt take up much space in the park. However, they are starting to die off due to their appauling capacity as there can only be 1 train per coaster unless a transfer track is used for the station. BTW im a rollercoaster enthusist, the first difficult turn which kAN called an "inverted upside down turn" is called a Cobra Roll and is present on a lot of Rollercoasters :)
I looked it up and according to Wikipedia there are currently 55 of them in operation!
Imagine if Kan made a Giant inverted boomerang instead

@@jakewynn they are a design that Vekoma made which are similar to regular boomerang models but inverted and have a vertical lift hill

kAN always finds creative ways to make a hard technical track, but very cool. 👍
PS: Didn't know about the accident until just now but 13 people were injured at Six Flags in New Jersey on Thursday, August 25. 5 taken to the hospital with back, mouth, and neck injuries with all being released. Doesn't seem serious so obviously the guys didn't know about it and it's unrealistic to think they should. Socks, you should know better.
plus, it's just people getting hurt, the entire world isn't gonna stop just for that.

would be cool if we could get one way checkpoints, i.e, it is only triggered if you enter it from the intended direction, that way you could put two checkpoints on a there and back track and only trigger one on the way out and the other on the way back.
oh, and theme idea: checkpoints
Same could be achieved with numbered checkpoints, meaning you must go through in sequence. Either method i think could expand track builds.
You could pull off a mid checkpoint here, just do 2 side by side.
When you first mentioned it's a reverse coaster i was sure you'd make everyone go backwards in it. Glad you didn't, it would have been terrible (and fun, but terrible) 😆
I was thinking that the design seemed vaguely familiar but I couldn't place it, and then you mentioned La Ronde and yes! It's always a rare treat to find youtubers from parts of Canada where I've lived! The nostalgia hits hard.

This rollercoaster was called Boomerang in Wild Adventures Valdosta, Georgia.
It’s one of my favorites.
Its a vekoma Boomerang, actually. As kAN mentioned, its a standard layout offered by Vekoma and its relatively cheap for a rollercoaster so they are EVERYWHERE. 😂
There is also the Speed Of Sound in Walibi Holland
There’s also the same one even the same color as Kan’s at Kings Island
I think the one at Canada's Wonderland that Kan mentioned was named The Bat because it opened not long after a big Batman movie back in the 80's or 90's. They often either play off a recent big movie or they directly partner, so there's a lot of that kind of thing there

At La Ronde in Montreal, it’s called the boomerang. It’s such a cool rollercoaster. Nice video!

We have one at Kings Island called Invertigo. It's a hanging one with the seats facing both forwards and backwards so you always go backwards at some point in time. Never had it in me to get on and still don't lol

It was called Face/off after the movie when Paramount owned KI. At Geauga Lake it was Mind Eraser then name change to head spin. Literally the most generic Layout.
Looks like the boomerang from six flags Fiesta Texas. Pretty cool.

We even have one in The Netherlands, called The Speed of Sound at Walibi Flevo.
@0:03 Funny, this is a prefab coaster. It's a Vekoma Boomerang model. And Vekoma is a Dutch company... the offices are in Vlodrop :)
In Walibi (former sixflags in the Netherlands) this is the Speed of Sound, they made a tunnel with lights and some music to go with it
there is no way… the video was released while i was actually in 1 of them irl, speed of sound is amazing! 🇳🇱

Knotts Berry Farm in southern California had one too. It was called Boomerang and was my favorite coaster. They took it our a few years ago. 😢 Its a Ceder Fair special, they own Knotts and Six Flags.
I’ve also been on this ride at several theme parks. It must be an IKEA roller coaster
This track... I bet it's in Rollercoaster Tycoon 2. It looks familliar.
I remember the one at the park near me, the park closed back in 2006, but it had the same one called 'the rocket'. This ride has been around for atleast 30+ years.
Now you guys should really do a coronavirus theme!
Wildwood, NJ, USA has one of these coasters called the Sea Serpent.
Note for what Scrapman said about "it's not suppouse work for ride a theme park attraction". Here in Italy, near Treviso, there a little theme park built since 1969 with human powered contraptions, scrap metal and zero electricity with about 40 different rides. It's called "Luna Park Ai Pioppi" built by the artisan and inventor Bruno Ferrin.
This Rollercoaster is at six flags The Great Escape. It's called The Boomerang, makes more sense than The Bat lol. It's been there's for like 25 years.
Funny enough, I’m a ride operator and the image you used of the inverted boomerang also known as the invertigo model, I have worked on before. We have one at kings island here in Ohio and though it was a short time at the ride specifically as I mainly work other rides, I have worked it before!
Invertigo is seriously so much better than the traditional Vekoma Boomerangs because it'such smoother and still has strong positive Gs on the inversions as well as good whip on the cobra roll.
@@maxhagenauer24 it’s somehow not my favorite. Got to ride Jolly Rancher Remix and wow that ride is fantastic but invertigo pulls better forces I’d say.
@@jonathanwoods3136 Yeah, well even a traditional Boomerang still pulls 5.2 positive Gs which is a very lot fir a roller coaster but it doesn't really feel thst intense, I think it's probably only a second long and it's where the train reaches the tight pull out at the bottom of the first drop.
Years back, I rode one of these in Vienna at the Würstlprater.
Was wondering if we had one, only remember this back and forth F1 ride, and the Olympia, which was my first 'eighter rail' ride ever; if there were 6 Olympic rings I would've blacked out completely lol

This rollercoaster is also in Worlds of Fun in Kansas City. It’s called the boomerang there. But yeah, this coaster is everywhere.

Another idea : choose your own path and have the different paths have slightly different speed boosts
And they then have to find the fastest one

I have an idea for a theme "Correct Choice" or "Memory Game", have the track constantly split into multiple roads to take then back to one, but only put a checkpoint in one of the roads so drivers have to learn and remember the correct order throughout the track
At King's Island in Ohio it's called "Invertigo", it used to be called "Face/Off" when Paramount still owned it. I went there all the time as a kid!

Most parks just call it a boomerang. But yes basically every park I have ever been to aside from Disney and universal, has one

Vekoma Boomerangs are actually so underated, they pull 5.2 Gs and aren't all that rough. The Invertigo ones have a whippy cobra roll and the giant inverted ones are good if it's not Goliath at SFNE.
I was one of the early testers of I h8 spaghet. literally the first multiplayer track I tried. The early versions were even harder than the current one.

We had one of those in Sweden :P it was called "Hangover" .
I remember riding a roller coaster like this one but the ramps were totally vertical. It is on Warner Theme park on Madrid, Spain
I used to work at 6 Flags America in Maryland back in the 90's. We had a similar coaster called the Python (I think) . But it had just one loop. You start at the top, drop down and do the loop, end up on the other side. Then you go backwards through the loop. Yeah it got taken down after 2 years or so.
That is way different that this, Python was made by American manufacturer "Arrow Dynamics" while this coaster in the video was made by Dutch manufacturer "Veld Koning Machinefabriek" or "Vekoma". That coaster you are referring to is what Arrow Dynamics calls a shuttle loop and I see how you see it's simular in a way. Although Python had an electric winch launch and a drop afterwards while Vekoma Boomerangs just have a cable lift with a catch car that drops you. Python wasn't in operation for long, it opened in 1993 at the park and closed in 1998. It used to be at a different park before, it was at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey before and it was called Lightnin' Loops and opened in 1978 and closed in 1992 before being relocates relocated to Six Flags America.

Yes, it is a standard design, the one I use to go on was at Knott's Berry Farm and called Boomerang.
I did this track in a lobby with 6 or 7 top rated players and no one finished it. I think we had 2 people hit the checkpoint once.
i tried this track when it first hit the workshop with a full lobby, and no one finished, a few got to the checkpoint, its hard AF
Your trailmakers and scrap mechanic videos where you have the building part you should just make a series with just the building parts but there’s no music or Timelapse just you and the others talking (if you guys do talk with each other) if you I’d subscribe instantly

We have one of these at Carowinds and I got on it in high school [I was scared of roller coasters and still iffy on heights] but we went backwards, and I shouted "Holy hell in a hand basket" someone else apparently said something about the Lord blessing me, I didn't hear it. Once we were launched, I screamed and swore and I stopped on the way backwards because I was fighting to stay conscious.
Why was it hard to stay conscious? Was it do to your fear or the G Forces of the ride?

Hell yeah another Enthusiast :) I live like 15 minutes from Towers so I get to ride smiler whenver i feel like it haha
@@jakewynn would love that but instead live only a hour away Thorpe Park. The smiler is still definitely my favourite though
@@ghamerons6287 I actually dont like it that much. All of my friends think their so cool by saying that its their favourite becuase its really intense, but thats why I dont like it. It just too many elements crammed after one another. Theres no air time too (not to sound like an Intamin Fanboy lol). My favourites are actually AIR (Galactica), and Swarm as they are enjoyable. Oblivion is also a good one, too. I like rides that are fun, Smiler is just a bit OTT for me. That being said, I LOVE the themeing and the soundtrack is a banger too until it gets to the ha ha ha bit, then its annoying. If you havent already gathered, I just happen to prefer the B&M's to any other rides, this was before I knew what manufacturer the rides were, a mere coincidence!

Haha, interesting theme… El Toro just had an oopsie again, as some of the footers broke and caused a dip in the track. I think 13 people reported injuries, but most just went to the park said station. I think 2-3 went to an outside hospital, but were reported to have re-entered the park the same day.
All 13 were successfully treated and released :)
In my local theme park (La Ronde), it's called Le Boomerang.
This Vekoma’s Boomerang, any others are copies. A classic example of the shuttle coaster with the signature cobra roll and loop.
here in texas at the six flags in arlingtion it was called the flashback and i was the first nonemployee to ride the day it was first open and rode it 3 times in a row before the wave of kids came running around the corner.
I'd say we call it the Sidewinder at Hershey Park, but apparently they rebranded it to the Jolly Rancher lol.

The Great Escape Six Flags in New York used to call it The Boomerang years ago when it was blue but then they painted it red and yellow and now call it The Flash
I have been up there in years, it was still called Boomerang the last time I saw it, but I don't remember it being as long as this. Same concept of course, so maybe they only used half of it.

I bet if you fell off the inverted at first you could land on the other loop going down, but idk if it would give you enough speed to hit the checkpoint

tbf, a cheese time would probably be around 50ish seconds, so even socks initial times would have been pretty slow for a cheese time
