That is a real motorcycle and kickstart only heightens the experience. Every ride must feel like a throwback to age 15 and a moped. Would like to have one of those, they are beginning to be rare and hard to find. A real classic!
Yeah, having to kick start sure gives some flashbacks to the younger days with mopeds like you say. I enjoy it. You have to work for it to start. If the engine is cold you have to use the choke and even then it might take a few kicks which always turns some heads of some people walking by. Old school baby 🔥👍 The SR400, as you say, aren't easy to find and have a good value in the market too. They still make these in 2022 but aren't sold here sadly. If they would, I would probably get one brand new, which still today only has kickstart.... 😎 Thanks for watching Rob
I have a 2018 SR400. Also kickstart, but fuel injected (no carburetor). I’ve gotten it up to 90mph. Yours is a beautiful bike! Greeting from Honolulu 😊
I had one of the first SR500’ with the red on black tank, I think it cost around £700 in 1978 it was the same year the XS1100 was launched. The first winter I stripped it down, had the frame stove enamelled, engine cases polished and a bit of chrome work done, I also fitted a reverse cone silencer that gave it that Gold Star whiffle until I blew the baffles out. As the parts came back I re-built it in my bedroom. 😎😎😎

i don't have this bike anymore but I sure miss it. It was a perfect bike to ride around the town with. NOT suited for longer rides tho. I rode mine for an hour doing 90 km/h to a larger town and i felt it in my body afterwards (so much vibrations!) Thanks for watching

The later bikes have reduced engine vibrations due to rubber engine mounts and later models have fuel injection. Still kick start only though. A true Icon. Excellent review DV.

Why are these so expensive now? Cheapest in my area used is $3,800 usd right now
Yeah they are popular. And the older models in mint condition are sold here for up to 7.500 usd.

Nice looking bike but that discoloured downpipe ruins it , I'd need to sort that out.

27hp? Hows that?
it's only a one cylinder 400cc bike =)
@@Darkvisor i know i got the same but mine only got 23 ps
@@Angry_Lion okey. well i have no idea why honestly. I re-checked this motorcycle, the official stats for this bike in the video, it actually says 30 hp.
Shame it's not available in England 🤔
Yeah too bad. It’s a great bike and the fact that they still make these is the proof :)
Cheers
Nice bike, only the wheels i find not appealing. They would look better on a horse drawn chariot.
heheh
I think it was only the early model that has those wheels, the rest has spoked. so this type is kinda "rare"
I personally like these wheels better than spoked but I guess it's a matter of personal opinion =)

Su una moto di tale classe le ruote in lega sono inguardabili.
il gusto di ognuno è diverso. preferisco queste ruote in realtà. grazie per la visione
In nz these bikes are over priced some are asking 6-7 thousand dollars. Can get a brand new ninja 400 at same price.
Yeah they are kinda unusal here so prices have gone up.
I've heard people selling them for 500 dollars a few years ago, now, you can find them on the used market for 25-45k if not more... insane

Una forma de fastidiar una gran moto como Yamaha. 👎👎👎
