For smaller builds, like below 6’5”, I actually use release timing. 6’5” and above, I use push. I look for the snap in the wrist and, for some reason, the snap is in the push window on taller builds and the release window and smaller ones. Keep in mind, I have practically NO lag in my games so my visual cue is different. I know many people use push and LOOK for the set point as their cue to release.

Practice
U just have to find the visual cue for ur jumper and practice it. Depending on the shots u take the timing will be different but will always have the same release point.

If you use push release when the ball gets to the highest point in the jump-shot (It’s after the set point!)
