I'm an Engineer. During my college lab experiments my team had to record data and show how it compared with theoretical results. Hate to admit it 😂, but when my data used to veer off, I used cherrypicking to get the trend back to where I wanted it to be.
These NGOs and think tanks do the same thing. They fit data into a trend they have created from their narrative.
The question should be asked who certified the genuity and competence of these NGO for such a responsible task??

The hunger index is completely flawed. The Government of India provided free ration for 80 crore people in the last 3 years. No one slept without food in the pandemic. Also that index showed us after Srilanka and near Afghanistan where we donated food as they are our friendly brothers in neighbourhood. Also keep in mind that India is food surplus nation. When India stops exporting rice and wheat many countries suffer a lot.

For Rajdeep Sardesai, any paper which speaks against Modi like the New York Times and the Washington Post are venerable newspapers. But, most of us Indians know better. I wouldn’t subscribe to either of these papers even if they paid me to do so!

In our 76 years of Independence, we hardly had right wing government. Before Modi's term we had one full term of so-called rightwing government. The leftwing socialist governments didn't allow the right wing intellectual to flourish, right wing intellectuals weren't allowed on big stages. That's why even after 9 years of Modi's term our Intellectual class still mainly consists Left-wing ideologists or communists. Now things are changing, and that's the reason for these fake narratives by these so-called intellectuals.

Here is a thing activist arent ranking india so low for some good will. I have worked with research institutes and they dont do it for good intention for what so ever,Indian govt closed all loopholes which NGOs exploited for money laundering, one of my relative leads a NGO which apparantly works in agriculture sector, and gets its funding from UNICEF and umedyar foundation associate of george soros foundation, as NGO donation are not taxed they will claim 80 percent donation is used NGO operation and make their employess to buy stocks of shell companies which dont have presence in real market then short sell the stocks for profit, this entire operation was blocked post 2019 reforms. And all ranking went down hill after that.

As a commerce student myself, i have learnt that statistics and data is something that is most prone to manipulation and misinfo than anything else. It is the most unreliable metric for any sort of ranking.
preach!!! So true - honestly, just from my working experience I have seen crazy things done with data and how it's manipulated to paint a narrative. That's the thing then when it comes to topics like politics unless you are at source and understand the data and are able to interpret it correctly it's so crazy to even start debating.. hence I'm not a fan of politics - it's all one big ....
u dont need commerce for that....i have physics specialisation u give me data and i can easily fool you by telling u exact opposite for what that data means...thats how crazy it is lol

And we are not adjusting for the fact that only a few organizations slinging mud at India through these rankings, etc will cause the overton window to shift, so when a clueless Western person googles stuff about India, he is not going to be questioning whether India is fascist or not. Rather the information presented to him will make him question if India is more fascist than x country or not. And that subtle shift in perspective leads most innocent and clueless Westerners to the wrong conclusion about India and that is what (mis)informs and drives all their misguided views and then behaviour.
So Indians that see the West as a monolith and simply give knee-jerk reactions to the what many Westerns say about India are actually only further hurting the people-people ties by increasing the hatred and thus hurting India's image more in the long run. Instead, trying to present a fair, fact-based counterargument in a concise, digestable manner will be a better way to deal with his onslaught. As well as discrediting these organizations that lay the seeds of misinformation.

The point that he made that it is the elite class of India that is anti-india is so true. And to make it clear, i don't think their intentions are to be anti-india but they have mixed their judgement between the nation and the current govt. I would like to add Jordan Peterson's statement over here which concludes things very well that one can easily witness and pin point when the 'right' is gone extreme (for example state controlled violence) whereas it becomes very hard to pin point 'left' to call them out on their extreme actions because they are apparently being 'liberal'. Similarly elite class of india as he mentioned does things at extreme without realising because they are under their own delusion of being 'liberal' which harms the image of the nation on international front.

I agree with many things what the guest was saying.. but in India there are 3 types of people now you can see that in your comment sections too.
1) People who are called "MODI BHAKT (DEVOTEE)", are those who follow him blindly no matter if he is doing something good or bad. And suppose if govt. does something bad unknowingly or knowingly they wont take responsibility because they know that they dont have to apologise or correct their doing because there is a mass who is always there to defend them no matter even if it will hurt them too just because they like some of their narratives about religion. Like 99% of Indian media and news channels because it's their revenue model. Dont believe anyone just follows the money and their owner's link to Govt. If something good happens in the country they will give the whole credit to Mr. Modi no matter the field, but if something failed or something bad happened it's not Mr. Modi ji's mistake is its respective department's fault. (Just go through the headlines of Indian media on ISRO Success they will portray as Modi ji's success) and in India if u are Anti govt then they will treat you as Anti National not just a Anti Ruling Party
2) Are those people who will hate him no matter if the govt does something good too. Because they are bhakts of other parties.
3) Are those people who wanted to raise their voice if some of the decisions are not good or if the actual ground reality of schemes announced by govt is not good, or are just in papers and documents but those who blindly follow the govt cant even take criticism and accept that maybe there is something wrong and that need some change or modifications and if govt sense that they dont need to do anything or reply because there is a huge social media machinery working for them, then they tell the world "see some people are happy" and they advertise around them only.
No matter the country or govt, every govt makes some good decisions and some very bad, but the media should never be under the thumb of any govt because then govt leaders wont know about their wrong doing and they will never try to correct that. So the Anti Govt voice must always be there so that they always know someone is watching.
In a Democracy people should never ever be a devotee of any govt or leader, they are just leaders doing what they were chosen to do then what's the big deal. If something good happens we must encourage or praise them but if something bad happens we must also be allowed to be criticised.😮
