So Rio is watching a Prairie dog, rock chuck, whistle pig.... many other numerous names. We has many of them at 8000 ft on our property. Our dog Piper would sit on the deck and watch them, then race 80 yds up the mountain to try and catch one which she never did but it was funny cause they would pop up and look at her
She’s a special one. How fortunate she is to realize what’s important before it’s too late. Tim is indeed our most precious commodity. And yet we waste so much of it. One day we will move on and only the memories will be left to linger. Make more memories. Make memories so special that they are meaningful. I’ve watched a million videos of seniors who were asked what their biggest regrets were. Not one of them was the things we concern ourselves with daily. Things like “ I wish I worked less “ or “ I wish I took more time in nature.” Such simple things that we all take for granted everyday. I hope you all make the rest of this year a year of smiles and memories.

I've been noticing how Alyssa will set a place at the table for "me" and everything she does has this warm, inviting feeling to be in her world. It's really sweet and has a wholesomeness that has been sort of forgotten when it comes to TH-camrs. People talk to the camera like someone is on the other side, but they don't do the little things that make that more real.

We’ve named our new prairie dog neighbor “Bug”. Rio and Bug stare at each other for about 3 hours every day now.

UT native here. We always waited for Mother's day to plant or set out any summer furniture or decor. It is 99% safe that weather will be great after that point. With that said, one year we got three feet of snow in Salt Lake City a week before May 31st (a special day in my family). I was litttle and in tears because I was afraid the party would be ruined. It had all melted by then and all was well again.

I’m so sick of working 15 hours a day just to breath ,, I almost have enough money to quit working and travel or go off grid in a cabin . My dreams of this keep me going

@Regretlyss, Be sure to check estate sales for furniture deals. I furnished my entire home with estate sale finds and here’s the thing, old furniture was built WAAYYYY better than new furniture is.

There's a movie called One Week (2008). Bascially it's about a man who was told he had cancer and had one week to live. So he drops everything and just gets on his bike and goes wherever he wants. I always loved it cause it was simply about deciding what you want the rest of your life to look like. Like you said in this video, we only get one shot at this life so live it how you want to.
I love the fact that your videos/life is an example of embracing that notion of just trying to live the life you want. You've helped me (and many others) to push my life in that direction. Thanks for that :) I've followed your channel since the beginning and it's been such a fun journey.

Please never give up your dream of making Dreamwood Cottage your own. It's a wonderful house in a magical place. There is so much nature around you to enjoy and find peace in. I admire you so much for your courage and drive to be the best person you can be. Have you considered a small garden with tomatoes, cucumbers, etc - things that are easy to grow? It looks like you have plenty of sun to have a successful garden.
The basket is perfect for pine cone fire starters❣️ the plant stand is perfect, you can never go wrong with a cast iron pot, great for sourdough, stew, soup’s you name it.

I live on a Scottish Island , and almost everything I own is from Charity shops or FB marketplace … I have the most beautiful 32 draw chest I found that way

That cottage looks great for being 130 yrs old. I used to work for henry's Electric we used to rewire old houses and had to go through lath and plaster walls it was quite a chore especially when you had old Knob and tube wiring. You are doing a great job. hah I have a brown thumb not a green one either. Glad you found a place that delivers healthy plants to your door.

I love your attitude- you know sometimes its just about caring enough about ourselves and others to maintain high vibrations (states)so that love, happiness etc stays around for most of the day. Not taking life or ourselves seriously, and you're right about stuff shows up that we wouldn't see if we were worrying (low vibration/state) about a storm that may or may not harm us.
Your place is one year older than mine (1897). Very cool. The previous owner gave us old photos of what the house looked like around 1920. Including a Model T in the garage. Such a treasure.

So cool Liss ., I have a 100 year old cottage on the Connecticut shoreline that’s been in the family since 1923 … old school balloon frame construction !!! and I absolutely love it !!! And I wouldn’t trade it for the world !!!!!
A cool addition would be an old ice box. The big ones from prior to refrigeration. Similar vibe to the apothecary drawers. Have seen them made into a lot of things.

1 to 9 inches of snow, my town in England hasn’t had 9 inches of snow in the last decade, I love snow in fields and on mountains, not so much on pavements though, we don’t have infrastructure for snow here. Another wonderful video thank you for sharing your journey.
