Just throwing this out there, but Lucifer's reaction to Chloe bending in front of him was actually Tom Ellis's real reaction, because it wasn't in the script. German did it all on her own.
Lol it was nicknamed the lazy stripper lol.
I didn’t know that , that’s so funn u
When? What timestamp?
@@thestreets2817 When Chloe bends over and twerks on him lol.
@@Eternalsfan but what timestamp? B-D
5:14 Imagine having the balls to walk up to god and tell him he's a bad father 😂
I would do that.
But respectfully 😉😂
@@Skier_girl88 I don't know that I could accomplish such a task with respect in mind. If I respected him I wouldn't need to say anything to him except thank you, which is the opposite of what we're talking about here.
@@Repugnantone I was teasing about the fact that Chloe herself said “respectfully” hense the winking face and laughing face
@@Repugnantone I mean... you can respect someone and still call them out for doing something wrong. In fact, I'd say it's more respectful to do that than to pretend they've done nothing wrong.
I really love Chloe's reaction to seeing god in person! hilarious
Dan's is the best
@@TheLibrarianOG1 Dan’s reaction to realizing he slept with the goddess was just the best ever
God's interaction with Dan in this season is my favorite thing of the whole series. It is so funny
The way Lucifer says "Dad" at the end gives me chills....
Happy Holidays BW !
Normally I hate musical episodes but this one has so much fun with it I couldn't help love it.
I'm exactly the same!
When I first heard about it I really wasn't looking forward to it, but they managed to incorporate it well into the plot and make it hilarious.
And now this is one of my favourite Lucifer episodes lmao
I loved this episode, once again Tom Ellis shows us how a great actor and singer he is.
Lucifer let God know that by being vulnerable next to Chloe, he was able to feel for the first time in his long life. Maybe God at that moment realized that he never fully understood his son, maybe he understood that being vulnerable and losing everything in a second makes life have meaning. This is an unintelligible concept to celestial beings given their immortality, but Lucifer was able to understand it as well as Amenadiel when he lost his powers and made himself mortal at the beginning of S2 and throughout S3.
The mom was Debbie Gibson... Tom played her music frequently in "Rush" and they became friends in real life so of course she had to cameo in the musical episode.
"I Dreamed a Dream" from Les Miserables is my favorite song from that show. So beautiful and this was a really nice version with their two mixed voices.
i cant wait for the next reaction :D "god gettin angry with dan"...if you know what i mean xD
I was wondering when that was going to happen I Couldn’t remember what episode it happened I.
@@batmanvideogames yepp its ep 11 just watched it yesterday :D
This is without question the best musical episode of a tv show I have ever seen. Every single one of the songs was perfectly picked and beautifully performed by the cast. And the ending song of One Day More sung by both Tom Ellis and Dennis Haysbert 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 there is no way you don’t get chills from that.
My number one is still Once More With Feeling from Buffy but I enjoyed this one as well. I love the most the version of I dreamed a dream
@@ems4380 Buffy is unquestionably the goat of musical episodes. Fringe and Community also had great ones. Twice, in Community's case. And special shot out to the magicians which just had a lot of good music numbers throughout.
Not only that, there's actually a reason for it, like it's incorporated into the plot because it's established God is making it happen
Sure it's easy to do that when you gave God as one of your characters but a lot of musical episodes do it for no reason at all, characters just start singing without purpose
This episode was amazing and Kevin Alejandros performance was the cherry on top.
As a musical fan this episode was the Best loved it 🥺✨ wicked Game and i dreamed a dream just perfection
As someone who doesn't like musicals, this episode was amazing, one of the best
I like how God sometimes asks questions even though he knows the answers, just so people figure it out while they are talking. It's pretty socratic.
One of my favorite musical episodes of any show. I love the entire last scene.
I assume Eric was talking about Dikembe Mutombo and his block/commercials
2:08 Indeed, once is not enough. And "Wicked Game" plays in Season 2's "The One Where Ross And Rachel... You Know".
I forgot about God's line, "Aptly named Jesus." Which is one of the few references to Jesus in the series. The other notable one is when someone says Jesus and Lucifer replies, "Not quite."
This gives me the feeling that God's favorite thing about his creation is music and artistry and I love it. Truely the furthest we can get to his divinity.
12:36 - The song is called "Hell" by Squirrel Nut Zippers. It was one of the things that helped fuel the Swing Revival back in 1997-98.
This whole episode was amazing but the scenes that hit me the hardest and made me laugh to no end was Dans breakdowns after talking to God xD Poor guy
I'm so looking forward to their response to the 5x15 episode
Dan defiantly stole the last 2 seasons. He had more growth than in the previous 4 seasons combined.
Up until this episode, I'm mad every time Lucifer said that he's not capable of love. Like common Lucy, how many more proves you want to show that you love Chloe so much. But then, this happened, and I realized he didn't talk about Chloe but himself. Despite being handsome confident devil, deep inside is always a fragile man cannot love himself and always craving for love since the rebel against his father, 'til proving his love to Chloe.
I really hate musical episodes or movies, they don’t even have any logic because it happens from nowhere and they are so cringe.
But this episode I absolutely love it! Because it has a context, purpose, an explanation and it’s also relevant to the ending of the episode and helps the plot. We also have Lucifer who knows something it just doesn’t feel right and we get to know why.
They killed it with the songs and their adaptation (except the song of Ella with Maze, that one was way to awkward due the extreme opposites of the songs and choreography).
You clearly never watched adventure time, some of it's best episodes are musicals and then again the show in general is extremely great.
Other than the musical demon in Buffy's "Once More With Feeling" and God here, too many of them tie it to mental disorders - the mentioned Scrubs episode, the movie "Dancer in the Dark" where the artist Björk plays the lead, etc.
"God sent a plague of Walk like an Egyptian" XD
ahhh I have just been so excited for them to get to this point in the series!!!
I love your guys Lucifer reactions :)
Keep it up please!
I'm so excited for you to get to episode 12 of this season, it's super insane
Hot darn, I miss this season of Lucifer. I think it might have been the best one. And this the best episode.
musical episodes are my guilty pleasure no matter how bad the episodes are the songs are so catchy I don't mind it but all the actors did a good job singing
This is by far one of my favourite episodes of Lucifer
Season 5B is soooo good!
Adore this episode, and I want to do the two of us dance with my SO.
That song that Dan did in the bar was also done by Jim Carrey in The Mask.
I think God smiled at Chloe not because he had nothing to fear but because his son found someone that cared enougn about him to stand up to God for him.
It would have been amazing if they sang "Fighting Dreamers" 😄
Liam Neeson did play Jean Valjean in a film version of Les Miserables, but it was a different adaptation of the novel, not the musical. The movie musical stars Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean.
So I haven't seen this be brought up but in reference to what Eric was thinking of the finger wag what came to my mind was the scene with the T-1000 and Sarah Connor from Terminator 2
That woman in this episode is Debbie Gibson. She was a big time pop singer in the '80s
THANK YOU! It was killing me that they didn't realize who she is. LOL.
Might be the best episode
Me and a friend loved les mis a lot and sung randomly throughout high school. We still do the confrontation from time to time
28:54 Buying a prostitute?! That's slavery! You short-term hire them and pay a fee for services rendered!
When a locksmith helps you open your car after you locked the keys in it, you didn't buy him or her, you paid the service charge! 😁
Fun Fact: At 14:10 when Linda spins, you can see that the stroller is empty
One of my favorite episodes! I think Blind Wave needs to have its own musical episode 😁👍
Man I love this episode. I love when shows throw in a musical episode, and the show that really pioneered it was Buffy and it’s still the benchmark for me
Ella has a lot of side character development plots that never really feel like they come to fruition or feel fully fleshed out. From my perspective anyway. I think maybe they address it later I can't remember.
I loved that episode, great acting by Kevin Alejandro. Aimee Garcia as Ella was also a treat as always and I am glad there was an explanation for the singing, just like for example in the Buffy musical episode, just musical for the sake of it is not my cup of tea.
I literally died when Aaron said hot bounty
3.3K Thumbs Up + Mine! 👍 You're welcome, and thanks! 😊
Just started and now Im going to be waiting this entire video to see if Eric remembers its the t1000
I guess it's an age thing but I'm sad you guys didn't recognize Debbie Gibson singing Every Breath You Take.
loved this episode so much hahaha 😂
The talking over all the magical singing kills me 😭😭
I still tear up wat the last song
Imagine being gods therapist. And also the mother of his grandchild. Linda is a bad ass
I don't like musicals much but I did enjoy the banter in this episode.
best episode of series
Hey all you good people hope you have a good Christmas and a good 2022 :)
What I loved about this episode is it's perhaps the only (not sure) musical shows like this, where they actually have a reason to spontaneously burst into song. That kept it from being too `campy.`
In the Buffy and Flash musical episodes, they had people making them sing too
God can manipulate reality at the highest level xD he can do literally anything
another show that had a reasoning for the musical episode was the magician
The first example of silent finger-wagging in fiction that I think of is the final showdown between Sarah Connor and the T-1000 in Terminator 2: Judgement Day.
Les Miserables. My brother played Jean Val Jean in High School.
"Buffy" had a great musical episode. Also very well explained and also relevant to the plot!
The song is from Les Miserables. Beautiful.
Great episode
Okay it's been killing me for ages.
WHAT ARE THE NAMES OF ALL THE SWORDS IN THE BACKGROUND?
I recognise 5, but I'm stumped with the rest.
I think Ella is messed up about the bad boy thing because she chose the guy who was supposed to be a nice boy and even he turned out to be bad.
He is such a good god
as much as dan is played as comic relief 4 dis show, sleeping wid God's wife is a heck of a notch on his belt tho 😂
as far as the musicals go this episode,
Lucifer and the suspect>Lucifer and God>Linda and Amenadiel>Dan>Tricksy>Football>Maze and Ella
What about Lucifer by himself? That was #1 for me. I also really enjoyed Dan's number, even though I didn't know the song.
Dan’s number is #1 for me
How many souls do we need to sacrifice to get Blind Wave to watch Buffy and Angel?
I think some of them have already seen Buffy at least
3:40 BITES ZA DUSTO
Christopher Lambert as Raiden
at 1:05 what game were you raiding on,does anyone know?
I'd really like to see the video of Deadpool wiping his ass on a car with Spider-Man inside of it. For research and educational purposes of course.
Wait 'where is this song from' 😮 you know it's les Mis right, surely!
I believe that was Debbie Gibson in the interrogation room.
Yup
If I had a reason to break out I to song I definitely would. And I do. A lot. Singing is fun ya know
The singing mom is Debbie Gibson. She has 2 platinum albums.
Next episode best, you've seen it already though, so what did you guys think out of 10?
Omg the Dan episode. I’ll never forget watching it for the first time with my friends. Sooooo funny😂😂
@@danieltuma4372 couldn't stop laughing when Lucifer said you ******* ... me Daniel
If you didn't recognize the last song then you should really react to "Les Miserables" (2012) an adaptation of a musical and that has an amazing cast, Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway, Rusell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne
All celestials self actualize, in this respect God is different as he also externally actualizes.
Is this a re-upload? I definitely have seen them watch this before.
I agree with Eric. The whole 'bad boy' thing felt forced and like the writers just checked off a box for canned drama.
It didn't really feel... well integrated into the story, it felt arbitrary.
I mean, I adore this show, I think Ella is fantastic and the actress is wonderful and the writers are excellent. But the bad boy thing... meh.
I feel like this is just her way of being self-destructive, purposely ending up with guys she knows are bad for her, because deep down she might think she's not worthy of anything better. It kinda fits her character but it could be written better.
I'm glad some people enjoy this episode. I personally hated it so much. I hate live action musicals and I hate bad versions (in my opinion) of songs I love.
Bad versions?? Which ones??
Why does no one ever recognize Debbie Gibson?
Dennis Haysbert was an amazing choice for God. And I don't remember him in a comedic rol.
"Les Misérables"
Rick, the 'S' is silent; it is only there to show that the word is pluralized...
Also, it is French and should NOT be pronounced as if it were Spanish. ;-]
Where is dance until you die from? It's bugging me.
Bette Midler's character says/sings it to the parents at the dance in Hocus Pocus (1993). Wow I did NOT think that film came out in '93. I feel old now lol
One of the few musical episodes I really don't like, mostly because it doesn't understand how a musical works. Not a single song drives the plot forward or tells us something new about any character. Try watching it a second time, you'll be bored when you realize that half the time nothing is actually happening, narratively.
Mark 5:06? Aha! I didn't see her name when I viewed the episode, but I thought that I recognized Debbie Gibson anyway! ❤
Side Note: Women are just as brave as men and don't have male genitalia. 🙄 That's a sexist phrase about "having the balls"! 👎
they fixate on the oddest things lol welll not fixate but pinpoint on lmao
Did you guys notice the kids mom is Debbie Gibson?
If you guys like jukebox musicals (i.e. with pop songs instead of original music) with in-universe explanations for the singing, then you should absolutely put Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist on your poll for a new show to react to! I love it so much, and it's only two seasons and a Christmas movie (they're trying to get Hulu to save them for a third season, but for now they're just canceled). So it's not too much time for you! Highly recommend.
Ugh, motion smoothing, soap opera mode. It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't the default settings for a lot of brands.
Ayyy
Shit maybe Nietzsche was right
You guys are gonna be baffled to see how bad/boring season 6 is
would not say that but did not like the ending
let's just wait and see until they get there, right ? S6 is "boring" because its only focus in on characters and not epic action storylines.
I liked season 6. I imagined another ending, but it wasn't bad.
@@capricorn4monkey nah season 6 is boring because they stretched 4 episodes of content out. Even with the unnecessarily addition of new characters. I mean who wants to see 4 episodes of Who is the daddy? Am I the daddy? Why did I leave? Who killed daddy?
As soon as they announced Lucifer was getting a musical episode “Hell” by Squirrel Nut Zippers was stuck in my head for weeks, and sure enough Kevin/DB sang it. They had the list of songs announced on Twitter but didn’t say who got what or why. When 5B dropped, I binged the entire 1/2 in one go. I distinctly remember falling over in early hours of darkness on the couch whisper yelling “It’s LUCIFER!?! … NO YOU CANNOT DO THIS TO MEEE RIGHT NOW!” at the opening notes of I Dreamed a Dream. (Les Mis.) Tom said at a con that he wasn’t as excited for it until he heard that version, and I agree. It suits him very well. I sobbed. SOBBED. 😉🥹😂😭🥰
not sure how you react to this episode with copyright and stuff must have been a pain to edit
