What’s a beloved fast food item from your childhood that seems to have disappeared over the years?
In the 1970s , Taco John's had a tasty Taco Burger and the Chili Beef Enchilada!!!! 🤤👍 Also Wendy's had a fresh Chicken Caesar Garden Pita Sandwich in the 80s & 90s. Awesomeness!!!❤😢Miss them all!!!
Two items I miss - Wendy's had (I believe it was during limited times only) a country fried steak sandwich that was amazing. The other one I wish we could see again is the Fajita Wrap from Taco Bell. Those were the best things ever on Taco Bell's menu. I actually stopped going to Taco Bell for a while when they got rid of those.
I actually liked the Enchirito from Taco Bell, and the Bellburger. I don't like anything else from Taco Bell anymore.
I miss the styrofoam containers. They think the US was bad with styrofoam, visit Asia. We’re peanuts compared to how much they use 🤣
McDonald’s Chicken Selects Premium Breast Strips. Yummy!! Not the same as the Buttermilk Crispy Tenders that came later but were eventually discontinued as well.
The pronunciations of half these words has me rolling 🤣
It's artificial intelligence reading the script. Pretty bad!
Fast food companies always seem to find a way to discontinue good menu items 😳😒
Well heart disease, attack, stroke and diabetes are thinning out that generation so pretty soon those foods will be extinct.
Because we b*tch and complain about wait times.
Burger King used to have a Veal Parmiagiana sandwich. It was SO good!!! A sub bun, with a breaded cutlet, melted mozzarella, parmesan and marinara sauce. As much as I love the Whopper, this sandwich was my favourite!!!
was it veal or Chicken? I worked at Burger King in the 80's and I remember being a chicken parm. I could be wrong though. Maybe we had both. Either way, it was delicious!
@@raybbj It was definitely called a veal parmagiana. They had chicken at the same time but the veal was my favorite.
Remember those and the chicken was my favorite. My buddy worked there in the early to mid 80s and would hook us up. Real flame grill back in then. Hahaha
Whaler was good also hahaha 😂
The MCDLT was the bomb. At the McDonalds I worked at we would put bacon and onions on it on our breaks. Pure heaven
Do you remember McDonald’s Spanish omelet bagel? Oh my goodness, was that good!
Best fast food burger ever. It was delicious! Wish I had one right now.
Totally... That's a burger they need to bring back
I keep hearing how good the McDLT was… ugh I’m pissed
I loved this sandwich I just wish I would have asked for bacon and onions now! lol
Fast food tastes like crap now.
Lies again? Grab Food USD SGD
Then dont watch the video Princess !
I absolutely loved Wendy's Super Bar. I felt like i was eating like a king.
It wasn't properly maintained though.
Can you imagine trying to have a fast food salad bar these days with the way people are? LOOL
😮 a sandwich for 39 cents!? I just bought a chicken sandwich for $7!!! $7!!!! 😢
And I bet. It didn’t taste as good as it did back in the day.
@@marilyn6556Facts 💯
"Sauce that was tan-jeer than McDonalds..." Good robot reading, eh.
he also say "lah-BORE" for labor
There are MANY mispronounced words!
@@xgymratxSounds French--Le Bore.
"Let toose and toma toes"...lol
I really expected Robert DeNiro to come storming out of a casino when i heard that
I always loved the McDLT! It really tasted better, I liked the cold lettuce on the hot burger.
I LOVED the McDonald's Chopped Beefsteak sandwich. Sure wish they would bring it back! And Wendy's Super Bar, please bring it back!
McDonald's should bring back the McDLT under a new name and call it the McDelicious. No doubt a GRAND SLAM in the burger game..!!!
The McDonald’s “McLean” Deluxe… spoken like “McLane” 😂😂
Have you noticed those prices??
Thank You Joe Biden !
Absolutely...Now a Quater Pounder Medium meal is like freaken $10
@@tedszweb5268
Stop lol, those prices went up a loooooong time ago
@@kristinholsapple2587
Yes, 3 years ago.
My mom stopped by Krystal today and got a cheese Krystal, chili pup and a medium coke and it was $8.12. Idk hiw she can eat that but she likes it. We always stopped at Krystal after going clubbing in the 90s. It was good back then for after a night of partying. Wouldn't eat it now! 🤢🤮
“Operational efficiencies and streamline menu”. Killed off creativity and making everything boring.
honestly as a cook in a hospital, i don't blame them. People can barely wait a few seconds in line without getting pissy...
Including the narrations of these videos.
@@alexgade4512Tell them that the restroom is open over there. They can p!ss in the toilet.
@@alexgade4512 You said it...that's why fast food tastes like 💩 these days!!!
And killed off the quality and taste of the product as well. 😢
Yep that McDLT was lit!
Did the "McClain deluxe" die hard?
I don't eat fast food anymore, but I did like McDonald's Cheddar Melt. It was basically a quarter-pounder with teriyaki grilled onions and cheddar sauce on a rye bun. Unhealthy but tasty.
That was one of the best burgers ever.
Sooooo damn tasty 😋
Jan from the Brady Bunch is hawking Burger Chef. Surprised nobody noticed
OMG I'm dying , It totally came back to me as soon as you said it LO.😂😂😂😂
I had seen multiple soon to be Stars on those commercials.
On that stood out was that guy from Law & Order SVU eating a burger.
@briansmith48 yes I noticed Christopher Meloni too
All I heard was Corporate wants “Cheaper, Cheaper,Cheaper…..”. Enjoyable video. Thank you.
The Bell Beefer was great, I worked at Taco Bell in the 70's and the Bell Beefer was great and delicious 😋😋😋😋
My son would have me take him to Taco Bell just for a Bell Beefer! He was 10! He misses them and he is 47!
Sloppy Joe Taco Bell style. Need to bring it back at least occasionally.
BRING IT BACK!
Absolutely. Just like the enchirito. When they tried to recreate it decades later , it wasn't the same. At all. God bless
Love the Bellbeefer and the Chilito... They were both great and super cheap...69¢ EA or something
I loved Wendy's Frescata sandwiches. They were really good when I got tired of burgers not to mention they were pretty big too.
0:35 tanjeer? WTF
I won't be surprised if some of the menu items do return when robots are the new fast food cooks.
Now the OG/ old school fast food chains seem to be fading into .. well, fading. They are trapped by that past streamlining etc., and all 'better' items which were discontinued way back.
I loved the McDLT
Loved the McDLT but I always thought they should have put the cheese on the hot side. Cold fresh lettuce and tomatoes good, cold unmelted cheese not so much.
Very cool, very interesting the good old days of the USA, i am Brazilian, but i always had much respect for the USA, unfortunately everything that is good ends.
I miss Taco Bell’s Beefy Tostada…….made with sour cream. I was pregnant and would drive in the snow to get two of them! Craved them! How I wish one more time to have one! 😊. (1977)
My local TB just discontinued the Encharito a few months ago after it being on a secret menu for years, I mean WTH?
I know y’all saw Christopher Meloni aka Elliot Stabler, Olivia Benson’s partner (Law & Order) 6:05 in that BK Yumbo Ad😭😭😂
Thats who it was, I knew i recognized him but cld not remember who it was , more hair probably threw me off . And was Jason Alexander (George from Seinfeld) in the McDonald's DLT Commercial?
@@kristinholsapple2587 OMG i’ll have to go back and watch now that you mention it😂 Crazy to see them before fame like this.
I had to go back to catch him!
@@kristinholsapple2587
That was him!
Yuuuup 😅
I thought the Arch Deluxe was pretty banging when I was like 12ish
The A&W " teen burger " the first and the best .
I liked the Pizza Hut Taco Pizza.
I loved the Jack Steak sandwich.
Taco bells chilli cheese burrito, firito burrito, mini chicken quesadilla, reaper ranch taco, MCd,s big n tasty, the batman burger, their ham biscuit....I'm old and sad now...amazing after eating this kinda food.
Taco bell needs to bring back that spicy chicken burrito. That junk looks good
They do have a chicken burrito in their new meal deal offering.
The cantina burrito.
They did have a lot of chicken Taco and burrito limited time things in the 90's early 00's.
Frings are still very much available. They are called halvsies now, but are otherwise identical.
Oh how I miss McDonald's McLean Deluxe and The Mc DLT! They were all I ordered back in the day! Both were excellent! We only get the Mc Rib here, once a year. I always make sure I grab them while they're available on the menu. I would think they could bring back the McDLT at least once a year like the McRib. I know I'd buy it! ❤❤❤
For breakfast I miss McDonald's steak bagel breakfast sandwich too. I hear it may be back for a limited time. ❤❤❤
The steak and egg beagle has been back for a while now.
And I also miss the Mc D.L.T.
They have biodegradable packaging now. Mc Donald's can bring it back if they thought the demand was there. 🍔😋
Who also peeped "Dt. Stabler" eating a burger? Edit: 6:00.
I loved the arch deluxe
0:37 Eve Plumb
fast food discontinue good items because they are worried about being ''efficient'' but they are not anymore efficient at making regular menu items and they wonder why they are all going under.
Unlike the McRib, McD's has never, to my knowledge, brought back onion nuggets or the Beefsteak sandwich. Would have loved to have tried both. Burger Chef I never got to try because they never tried to break into NY.
The mcdonalds items were definitely intriguing.....and inspired me to make chopped onion fritters this week as a side dish with burgers
I do not remember the onion nuggets at all....I live in NY as well. I do know and believe they still do, the further upstate you got some McDonald's wld put ketchup and mustard on the Quater Pounder ....I live right outside NYC the suburbs lol
We just got Jack in the Box in Louisville, KY and they have the fries and rings together.
I miss Shakeys Pizza and their Mojo Potatoes. You could usually only get them on the buffet. Unfortunately I haven't seen a Shakeys in decades.
Also miss A&W frostyugs of rootbeer and their yummy burgers.
We still have plenty of Shakeys in SoCal but I haven't been in one for decades. In "high" school we used to demolish the Mojos. The Last A&W here turned into a Korean noodle house
A&W still exists up in Wisconsin and it has the floats and everything. It is a bit of a drive but when I am feeling nostalgic I can go up there to get it. The floats are still #1.
Chik fil A had unbreaded chicken in sandwiches. Not from childhood. And long before they greatly expanded into (forbidden zone?) here in NYC lol.
The Burger King Yumbo that I remember from the 70's was shredded ham mixed with melted cheddar cheese - and nothing else - on a Whopper bun. It was incredible! The so-called "yumbo" of 2014 was the one on a hoagie bun...
[ 1st off ] I didn't know Detective Stabler was in a Burger King Commercial. [ Anyway ] You forgot to mention that Burger King sold 3 mini Burgers in a pack ( love them when I was a kid in the 80s ). It too bad Burger King got them now that would be added to Burger King's Kids Meal. Part of me died when McDonald's discontinued the Arch Deluxe ( love ordering them even though it take a couple of minutes to make ).
Burger Bundles
@@jennifermassengill1635 yep
I miss the Chicken Littles at KFC. I liked the minimalist approach to a small chicken sandwich. Although, I always asked for cheese to be added.
LOVED THEM !!
I have news for fast food chains...they are NOT any faster or more efficient than they used to be! They just charge more for crappier quality and for less choice. I rarely go to any of them anymore! They have FADED from my diet almost completely!
KFC's Chicken Littles were the 💣
They are still available.
@@girlygirl2969 Good news 😁... but I don't eat fast food anymore word to clone chickens 🐔 lol.
I want salad shakers and snack wraps back
Taco Pizza is back at Pizza Hut in some Indiana locations! 2024!
The Priazzo at Pizza Hut is the one I want back the most
First thing I bought at 13 years old with my first paycheck was McDonald's. Then JK Gill clothes.
I'm 50 years old now. It would take my whole paycheck to buy a happy meal.
Mc DLT at that time was a really good burger option the tasted a little more grown up for McDonalds. Chicken Littles, I gobbled down those things like they were candy. One sandwich missing here was the original chicken supreme from Jack in the Box I miss eating those after last call at the clubs.
Harvey's in Canada has Frings too.
Great great job on this video. There's a ton of items on here that I've never heard of or either I forgotten about. I was a teenager working at McDonald's though when the Mc DLT came out. It was a pain in the butt to prepare lol. We were just passing around a picture at work of McDonald's menu from the early 90s where you could get a big Mac combo for $2.99 lol
You reminded me of McDonald’s McArch. It was one of their best tasting burgers! I wish they bring it back!
McDonald's needs to rerelease that chopped steak sandwich
One of my favorites was the Big N' Tasty at McDonalds.
TacoBell used to have a taco light..it was a crispy flour shell taco with sourcream. I ate it as a teenager. It was supposed to be healthier, but I liked the flavor and the fact that it didnt hurt my mouth as I had braces at the time.
NOW I HAVE A MACHINE GUN. HO HO HO.
THE McClaine deluxe…..
No shoes required.
The Burger King Yumbo I remember from the 70s was on a round bun and they were sooooo good. I missed their later attempts at the Yumbo but I'm betting it was probably not the same as the 70s version.
I was going to be mad if I didn't see the arch deluxe. I miss that burger so much. Ordered it all the time as a kid.
All McDonald's had to do was change the damn packaging from Styrofoam to paper. They did that with MANY items. Their current menu has so many less options than it used to that I very rarely ever eat there. They got rid of everything I liked! The price has gone up and the quality and choice has gone way down! It's the same story with EVERY fast food restaurant.
Burger Chef will always be a fast food company I miss the most.
What's disappeared is the REAL whopper. In 1972 a whopper was about 5" across and now a whopper is not only hamburger size, they are almost always luke warm when you get it. The big BK has really dropped in quality. It's a shame, but I don't see how they stay in business. On a side note, the Gino Giant was a killer burger back in 1972.
I miss the best taco pizza buy pizza hut😢 It was the best u taste it when my son worked there We still got the chicken littles at Kfc where we live😊
I worked at McDonalds as a teenager when the Mc DlLT was launched , my lunch everyday. No one remembers this when I mention it!
I liked McDonald's Arch Deluxe and often ordered it. I was also a HUGE fan of the short lived w9raaps! I was told that the wraps too too long to prepare and that was what killed them.
Mc DLT was a great burger. I hope it makes a comeback. Mc Donald's makes everything to order today.
Ok, so whenever a fast food chain tries to go beyond burger with lettuce and tomato service time and complexity goes up which ultimately leads to phase out. Still they constantly try those new concepts only to discontinue them after a while.
From early childhood until age of 56 I loved fast foods. This lead to poor health, obesity, uncontrolled diabetes.Thank God, since 2012 I have not eaten fast foods, maintain a weight of 173 lbs. have decent health and am grateful..
I still love and miss the MCDLT. 😭💔
Bellbeefer was my main go too at Taco Bell.
Burger King had a really good chicken parm in the 80's as well as burger bundles and chicken bundles which were 3 sliders. The chicken bundles were basically just a larger chicken nugget on a small bun with a splash of mayo. They were sooooo good. I used to inhale these things. I would give anything for just 1 chicken bundle today!
But Carl’s Jr brought it back as the Big Carl years ago and has stayed on the menu. When they brought back they advertised as bigger and cost less than the Big Mac.
Wendy’s salad bar was the best .
Oy..drinking game.. take a shot everytime you hear the word streamline..lol
Loved JiB's Hot ham and cheese! I used to live on those things.
I used to LOVE the McDLT!
You can still get Frings at Runza in Nebraska.
In the early 90's the McDonald's cheddar melt cheese fries at the tome was the best cheese fries I ever had
Meanwhile their international locations have many interesting menu items.... 💀
McDonald's original apple pies with the crunchy pastry, and McRib when done right.
BRING back the Pizza Hut Priazzo😁👍🇺🇸
Man I really liked the Mcdlt and the chicken salad. Back when micky d's had a great menu.
I miss KFC's Chicken Littles. They were just so perfect, when you didn't want to eat a big meal. 😢. I also miss McD's McRib sandwich. I know it comes back every once in a while, but I still miss it 😢😢
I miss the arch deluxe, and the cajun big and tasty...
2:49 i need a sloppy José immediately
5:59 a young *Christopher Meloni* (from Law & Order) in a 80's Burger King commercial
Dang, that's two Louisville, KY has. We still have the Chicken littles here in Kentucky
The chicken littles were delicious
I wish those came back immediately
@@kristinholsapple2587 We have them in Louisiana.
@@girlygirl2969
Nobody likes a show off girlygirl2969😂😂😂😂. We do not have in NY booooooo..Enjoy them 😊😊
@@girlygirl2969 we have them to but unfortunately they are not the same as the originals.
Chicken Littles use to be my goto!! If they sold them now it would b a big hit. Since people like making sliders
I've got 4.5 years whole foods and weigh 110 lbs. I'm no longer a junk food junkie.
I loved the McDlt.
I miss Pizza Hut Priazzo . That was Delicious.
Need to bring back KFC’s BBQ chicken from the’80’s
Remember when Wendy’s sold fried chicken by the piece? I want that back
