Hi, You lost me on the comment... cutting dead batts? what mistake? Please let us know so we don't do it again. Appreciate the comment but wish I knew what you meant. Thanks
Dead batteries. This comment was not a criticism, but just me empathizing with the camera op not having the batteries charged and/or the wrong batteries in the camera during the take. Editing it in instead of reshooting, is an immortalized mistake. I’ve been there. Never forgot to check % before giving the go ahead again. 🤣
@@DamienFinn Totally get it. Wasn't upset or felt criticized. I honestly forgot about that scene. You mentioned "in the final" so I was looking for a mistake at the end of the video. lol. Yeah we actually left it in cause we still had the audio recored separately so we thought it would be funny to leave it in. (obviously at his expense) But yeah, we've all been there. I appreciate the comment and didn't take offense at all. Glad you enjoyed it 😄🎥
in other word, you means that this guy will make people(photographer) go to NEXT LEVEL in product photography. maybe can move you to category: Advertising/Commercial Photographer
I had the idea that lighting played a key role, and this confirmed it. This gave me information on how and what to improve my skills with lights. Keep up the great work, Javier.
Really liked the video and the step by step explanation. Would loved to see a shot with just the keylight so we could see the difference between a 'simple' set up and using 8 lights. But overall a great video.
Hi Javier, how are you triggering the Paul C Buff lights and the Profoto lights at the same time? I'm trying to figure this out on my own but can't seem to find a straight answer on the internet. Thanks!
They are being triggered as a slave. I have the Profoto air remote which triggers the profoto lights and the Paul C Buff lights flash as they are seeing the light and go off automatically because of the slave feature. Hope that helps.
@@Javier_Hernandez Thanks for replying! This worked! I can now fire my Profoto and Paul C Buff lights with just my Profoto air remote. Thanks for this advice and keep making these tutorials. I love your setups.
so far from my experience, if you search something via Google, you will mostly gain straight explanation. unless you read blogger Photographers that writing on their own port and so on.
Thank you, and you're absolutely right. The video guy was holding it handheld. I've gotten a gimbal after that video. So no more shakey video hopefully in the future.
I am new in Product Photography. From my point of view, whether shoes it self or with a model will depend on the Client(if a shot is paid ). We(Photographer) can give consultation to the client if possible. The client will give final decision,The Decision Maker $$$. So INTERESTING will go second priority.
Thanks for the input. You can most certainly do it like that, and even if you only have ONE light you can do it and do composite in post. The reason I created this video is to show people how to shoot it in one take and how to use modifiers and other creative ideas to shape the light. I even say it in the end that you can do it with one or 2 lights and call it a day, maybe you missed that part. But there are many ways of doing it. This was just my take on it. Glad you enjoyed it.
@@Javier_Hernandez I agree with you ! This is more a professional approach. That’s the best way to shot effectively. I just said that for people who can’t not afford a such quantity of materials. hi bro, i am Portrait Photographer(Wedding and Graduate Student...currently happy in these Two fields). Fashion-not yet ... I do (summarize) my opinion in this sentence: ##3 Lights are possible to make picture “wow”. 2 Lights are possible too but need reflector. Shadow is NOT REALLY good to enhance product(shoes) for selling, unless in small area.## (Details) below: For me, Javier can use only 3 Lights and still can make a picture "wow" and get FUN like he want. For me to Javier: 1 key Light + 1 Fill Light + 1 Background Light(Gradient Not make it in Photoshop as we are not Designer.... by GENERAL). If you agree with two Light for him, i agreed in this way: 1 Key Light + 1 background Light for Gradient. Use a reflector to Fill the Light. If Key Light, if you suggested him to use #Big Softbox for (Key Light), he needs to put closer enough. The Light will be VERY SOFT with the Lowest volume power. You need to give OPINION to use a reflector with closer distance...if you want to use BIG SOFTBOX. Otherwise, Small or medium size for softbox is VICE VERSA. The reason WHY use 3 Lights like i suggested you in the first place is because, Javier and also a Studio Photographer are NOT "MAKING picture" outdoor in such background like #grass(Foreground) and #mountain(Background) . So they no need to Light the background. Grass and Mountain are not necessary. Its just an example. - Positive Mindset Photographer. Azrul Aimi Photography, Malaysia.

my only interest is how you edit the fishing line out
Stamp tool or clone tool in phototoshop
sorry..i don't get you? fishing line?
How did you synch all the light using profoto, and other lighting systems? Overall nice summary
The non profoto lights on set to slave mode. Once it sees a flash, they automatically fire.
Thanks for the Helpful video ! Does it matter what kind of fishing line ? Or is there certain ones that hold a good amount of weight on it ?
