This vintage reel of Perlman and Zukerman was shot during the prime of their playing. There are many recordings & videos of this piece and some quite good, but nobody comes close to the magic of this memorable live performance. Did you see the audience? It was dead silent during and even in between movements. They knew this was history in the making, because something very special was happening. Although Perlman and Zukerman's rendition may not have been Baroque period performance style, it didn't matter, because the essence of Leclair's music clearly came through in this heart felt performance. No one plays like this anymore. Maybe no one can. Zukerman made even the eight note accompaniment so musical and alive but never overbearing. Every young student should watch, listen and learn. This video is classic.
It surprises me how the camera directors for violin or viola performances never figure out that the images of what the bow hand is doing are just as interesting and important as what is happening on the fingerboard. They just never clue into that

ズーカーマンがこれほど素晴らしい音色を出すとわ、思わなかったですね。ちょっと古典的な音色で、魅力的ですねー。パールマンもお年を取られましたが、またバッハニ奏を聴きたいものです。
Vivat and Cheers for both Masters Mr Perlman and Mr Zukerman !
Perlman is enjoying every moment of it. 😅So effortless for both of them. Amazing!
A feast for the eyes, ears and soul. Thank you for making this available every day.
