I’m so sorry that this was someone’s experience. I was homeschooled and I loved it. I have an incredible relationship with my parents. But I will say they were not authoritarian parents. Authoritative, as in I had boundaries, but relationship was far more a priority than rules. I wish more Christian parents could understand the difference and parent accordingly. And I loved Abeka curriculum. I memorized so many beautiful poems, my writing and reading skills were light years ahead of my peers when I returned to public school, and the books were great for me. My Mom also read so many classics to us. I was stuffed with rich literature by the time I was in high school. Again, I’m so sad that others didn’t get to experience homeschooling the way I did.

There's such a wide variety of homeschooling experiences. Mine was decent but my parents weren't as controlling as others I knew. I think I hated Abeka reading because I was ahead of it. 🤣 I did love read and thinks though! 🤣

I loved the read and think too!😄
I use some of the old books with my kids because simply for that section. I actually think that’s where some of my critical thinking skills got engaged. I’m grateful my parents truly sacrificed a lot to make sure I had a great education.
