Man both these players are monsters... and they still find it fun and entertaining to play eachother even with so much pride on the line. Gotta love this game : )
It really annoys me that hating Ski has become a meme. He's an awesome guy and one of the most knowledgeable commentators out there. Other commentators just don't get called out when they make a mistake like he does. I know Ski, he's a friend of mine and he's one of the nicest, most supportive people I've met in the Traditional FGC. He occasionally texts me and congratulates my on VGBC's accomplishments and so forth. Please stop the unnecessary hate. - GimR
Nice. Very glad they were able to upload this exhibition so quickly since I didn't get the chance to see it live. And good stuff to Pepeday! You could easily tell this was not a very easy matchup for fuerte. A well deserved win for sure.
They both played some really good matches. Pepeday made the tourney a lot more interesting just having someone that plays a character you never get to see in a way no one else really does. Snake did amazing as always given a tough matchup
Aside from the fact that I hate Fuerte, I like how it seems that Pepeday's heart is always racing and he clearly shows it once he pulls off a win, its pretty sweet.
Is that Ski Sonic? Wow haven't seem him commentating in years. I loved how good he was, he could speak so fast with game details that it left room for him to speak about other things. The guy is a bible of info.
I'm glad that someone was able to show el fuerte's stuff. But it's funny that most of these stuff has been with fuerte for a while now. But there are some add ons that made him better. But I guess it took pepe to open peoples eyes on the character. But yeah lol I knew all the stuff pepe is doing and it's funny to people like what.. lolxD But yeah el fuerte will always be my main. It's satisfying to know that not everyone can play him. He need that certain touch and speed to go with him. Later dudes!! Also VIVA MEXICO!!!
Noo pepe. If pepe would have done ex q bomb fadc to s.guacamole leg throw in the corner. Gief has a large enough hit box for that. It would have taken the round or give him the set up after.
Totall agree with you here. Elf is my main as well and Pepeday really showed people what el fuerte is truly capable of in the right hands. I really want my Fuerte to reach this level.
I've always wanted to see a Zangief vs El Fuerte Match ever since I first saw Fuerte in SF4(first one). This is an excellent match and I hope they do more matches like this.
Snake Eyez did his homework but he didn't have quite enough experience in the match up, but he still took 8 games and almost 9 from Pepeday, good shit to Snake. Hype fuckin set that even Skisonic's shitty commentary couldn't ruin.
Pepeday's got good character. Not talking Fuerte but Pepe is just so happy all the time and really let's his opponents know when he thinks they did something awesome.
Lariat's only utility is close range wake up as Snake Eyez shows off in this match up a few times so Pepeday can't go for a mix up with the press or grab. Yes it would leave him wide open if Fuerte is already in the air. Also you clearly forget about the most dangerous mix up tool. THe Q-Bomb punish
Lariat completely loses to his air grabs. It also loses to his splash unless done with great (usually impossible) precision. It also loses to his slide, and Q bomb, and Fuerte stopping before it hits him. Basically Lariat's only utility is to get Elf before he gets into the air.
Doesn't do much against a lot of fuerte's setups I think. Splash just creams it because of the way the move comes down. Tortilla and the other throw both throw it. Q bomb destroys it along with anything else. Slide likely goes under it. Someone mentioned that Gief could jump-cancel the lariat to make it not throwable but PPD almost always went for raw splash even though he got punished a lot for it, so I guess Snake Eyez didn't think it was worth it.
Sorry dude, this guy is from Okinawa area, and they often are not in the spotlight like the Tokyo area players. He might have moved on to being a salaryman or similar.
This matchup is not as bad for Gief as I've heard. Snakey snake shows the answers Gief has for the rush down and slams and tortillas. Pepe has just mastered deception. Many think it's a guessing game, which against Pepe it may feel like it but almost all of Fuerte's moves have starting frames that expose the move he will do, like the backflip for tortilla. Pepe just fights efficiently, masking a fajita as a slam or only using tortilla when Snake overcommits.
UNA LIGERA VENTAJA ES LA VELOCIDAD QUE TIENE EL FUERTE SOBRE ZANGIEF, Y LA SUPO APROVECHAR TODO EL TIEMPO EN EL JUEGO, AUN ASI SIENTO QUE HUBO VARIAS JUGADAS QUE NO CONCRETO SNAKE Y ESO INFLUYO ROUND A ROUND.
YKGroundMoves daaaamn... that's bad... he was really good. On the other hand, Pepeday wooped Daigo's ass... I'm happy with that as a consolation :D Either way, he deserves the respect and to me, personally, he's probably much more apreciated in comparison to somebody who just picks a top tier character and bodies everyone... Just my personal opinion.
I disagree with the commentator. The best El Fuerte player back then was Spab Rog. I think that's how you spell his name. He couldn't get out to a lot of tournaments.
Both is one of my favourite players, really love to see them playing. Is that ski narrating? I'm pretty sure it is because he is one of the most annoying narrators I've ever heard. Yes, I muted the video.
Snakeeyez got too scared to use Ultra 2 in those last 5 rounds (albeit the one, but I won't spoil which). If he had punished almost anything with Ultra 2, then those rounds would've been his. Very close match!
WTF Snake Eyez? DO NOT FUCKING NEUTRAL JUMP Actually, might as well not jump at all DO NOT WALK FORWARD, let Pep come to you SPAM BACK-DASH Why? Why did this happen?
until there is something added in this game to stop online mashing i will not play again. just an idea.. seth dp mash - 50hp per input on wake up on in block string Rest of shotos - 30hp Blanka's hops used -25hp per hop hawk dive - 10hp( it will add up) fuerte run stops -95hp per use geif lar span on wake up or block-string - 85hp per input picking of vega, rufus, or blanka or fuerte - 50% hp from round start per round ( returning to character select screen recommended) combofiend and capcom please help!!! i am aware i can back dash or block on wake up, or that i suck to much to read the dp.. regardless im tired of the skill less mashing, just voicing my opinion the all those who care the most. Hi Internet :)
In my opinion, mashing players are the easiest to read. When you know they're going to mash (for example Zangief's SPD during your combos or block strings), you have an easy read, so react accordingly to get an easy punish, for example vertical jump and then do a full combo. When I was a beginner people would abuse SPDs and shoryus on me, but the study of my own tendencies and my opponent's made my weak point become one of my strengths. Practice and you'll get better ;)
Its not easy when your actually trying to hit the combo and get a slight lag out of no where and get spd or srkd. I know these are issues everyone has to deal with i just thought of a comedic solution :)
Ohh... I only very rarely get random lags; I either have laggy matches or non laggy matches (may be because I play in the PC version). Anyways, when I started playing the game I noticed that when waking up the situation could get irritating. That got mostly solved by using dictator, while having 1 stock he gets the very best wake up options in the game in my opinion, plus he has one of the best teleports in the game and doesn't depend on strictly timed combos to do his damage. I do believe there's at least 1 character for every possible taste in this game, but the game was made so that every character has some lacking that other characters have better tools to play with. Maybe what you need is to just analyze without rush which are the good tools and the lackings of certain characters, so if you're up to give it a shot I suggest you play as the characters you have trouble with to discover their limitations.
Man both these players are monsters... and they still find it fun and entertaining to play eachother even with so much pride on the line. Gotta love this game : )

VGBootCamp VoDs Skisonic is dope. He gets mad love from me.
Zhi is far worse of a commentator screaming like a girl half the time
DEFINITELY A WRESTLEMANIA MOMENT 10/10
Nice. Very glad they were able to upload this exhibition so quickly since I didn't get the chance to see it live. And good stuff to Pepeday! You could easily tell this was not a very easy matchup for fuerte. A well deserved win for sure.
Actually the matchup is in Fuerte's favor.
***** I would not say that. Time will tell if I'm right.
Anyway, very entertaining set between these two grapplers !!!
Raphaël 無駄無駄無駄
Time doesn't need to tell, match up is in Fuerte's favor. More mixup pressure than gief.
The way both players adapt and keep learning from each other through the matches is freakin beautiful. Great fights.
Pepeday's Fuerte is really strong; I can only imagine what might have happened if they had played during the tournament rather than the exhibition.
Good shit skisonic. I like your commentating over a lot. Some people just don't understand haha.
Thanks for the prompt upload Spooks.
They both played some really good matches. Pepeday made the tourney a lot more interesting just having someone that plays a character you never get to see in a way no one else really does. Snake did amazing as always given a tough matchup

Awesome job there for uploading this, specially for non-US fans monsters like me.
Is that Ski Sonic? Wow haven't seem him commentating in years. I loved how good he was, he could speak so fast with game details that it left room for him to speak about other things. The guy is a bible of info.
Snake Eyez be like "Damn man, WTF do i do against that?" lol gg's
Glad Fuerte is finally starting to get some shine
YESSSS!!!!! ^ This comment!! :)
Great players and great sportsmanship!
I think the best of this match is that you can see both Snake Eyex and Pepeday having fun and laughing, this is what this is all about!!!!
I'm glad that someone was able to show el fuerte's stuff. But it's funny that most of these stuff has been with fuerte for a while now. But there are some add ons that made him better. This guy is good with him I first saw a good el fuerte from gi pie

Amazing match! Great play, and you came close Dragon Eyez! ^_~
Pepeday is my new hero since TGS 2014. His playstyle is so fun to watch.
Pepeday's really gonna go far. Amazing exhibition.
Man, this was intense as hell. Fuerte has to work so damn hard for it.
15:56 only got so far....and in the end it didn't even matter.
Linkin Kappa.
+Gtsgunner you just described every Zangief match up in the game. He has some of the most damaging punishes of the entire cast
Pepeday's got good character. Not talking Fuerte but Pepe is just so happy all the time and really let's his opponents know when he thinks they did something awesome.
Couldn't SnakeEyez use Lariat to counter El Fuerte's air grabs, or would he leave himself too open afterwards?
Lariat's only utility is close range wake up as Snake Eyez shows off in this match up a few times so Pepeday can't go for a mix up with the press or grab. Yes it would leave him wide open if Fuerte is already in the air. Also you clearly forget about the most dangerous mix up tool. THe Q-Bomb punish

Basically Lariat's only utility is to get Elf before he gets into the air.
***** He can jump cancel lariat.
***** Use the lariat during prejump frames. Prejump frames are unthrowable but still leave you grounded.
***** Oh word? Good to know
Somewhere out there Filipinoman is fuming at seeing El Fuerte being played at this level.
Why didn't snake eyes lariat?
Like at all?
Doesn't do much against a lot of fuerte's setups I think. Splash just creams it because of the way the move comes down. Tortilla and the other throw both throw it. most of furete's moves go through or trade i think
32:38 you should watch the whole video before commenting on it lmao xD
Tobikan Judan I assume u mean me bandwagoning snake eyes? Sorry to disappoint your bj fetishes, but I only call em as I see em
deicide666slayer woah one lariat, sure proved me wrong xdddddddd
I already got constructive answers from two other folk thanks :)
Whatever happened to Pepeday? After SFV he literally left the planet. Please help, much appreciated
Sorry dude, this guy is from Okinawa area, and they often are not in the spotlight like the Tokyo area players. He might have moved on to being a salaryman or similar.
@@teamspooky Damn yo. He was a really great player. Shame though. But thank you for the reply. Much love and respect.
Awesome!
still hating on Skisonic? I didn't realize it was 2010.

Skisonic is one of the comentators i ever heard!!

14:48 - Skisonic: "Now Pepeday is the one that's having trouble mounting offense."
Is this guy actually even watching the match?
SnakeEyez: "-What da fuck im faced ?"
This is such a complex matchup.
High level !!!
This matchup is not as bad for Gief as I've heard. Snakey snake shows the answers Gief has for the rush down and slams and tortillas. Pepe has just mastered deception. wow they are great player
wow, any wonder Pepeday gave Bonchan so much trouble. dude is godlike.
UNA LIGERA VENTAJA ES LA VELOCIDAD QUE TIENE EL FUERTE SOBRE ZANGIEF, Y LA SUPO APROVECHAR TODO EL TIEMPO EN EL JUEGO, AUN ASI SIENTO QUE HUBO VARIAS JUGADAS QUE NO CONCRETO SNAKE Y ESO INFLUYO ROUND A ROUND.
Nice
Pepeday the man
classic stuff
Fucking good match
What ever happened to Gipie? He was the best fuerte.
well he was pretty damn good, but Daigo beat him in a ft10 I think... or was it a ft5? either way I loved his Elf too. What happened to him?
thatunknownguy he quit playing fighting games. It was confirmed by Gamerbee
YKGroundMoves daaaamn... that's bad... he was really good.
On the other hand, Pepeday wooped Daigo's ass... I'm happy with that as a consolation :D
Either way, he deserves the respect and to me, personally, he's probably much more apreciated in comparison to somebody who just picks a top tier character and bodies everyone... Just my personal opinion.
Snake still kept up eventhough fuerte runs all over gief, well played
I disagree with the commentator. The best El Fuerte player back then was Spab Rog. I think that's how you spell his name. He couldn't get out to a lot of tournaments.
snake eyez sure is chomping on that gum. god damn. lol

wtf is up with pepeday's eyebrows? Is that a troll face?
Snake eyez left his clutch at home 😝 ggs lol
how pepeday charges q bomb: 12:35
Fuerte beats Gief freeee
this is probably a 6-4 match-up in elf favor, his mobility is too much for gief, the gief player must have his reads on point to win this.
我真的覺得第一個男仕比較帥...
This furete player is good
Pepeday pls BibleThump
IMO pepeday looks like a very good scrub
this is really crap how Pepeday lost despite his "fuckin monster" combos. oh my just look at 9:45
Rusev/Nikita Koloff vs Rey Mysterio
I fucking hate SkiSonic.
WTF Snake Eyez?
DO NOT FUCKING NEUTRAL JUMP
Actually, might as well not jump at all

Wrestle mania
Skisonic can you shush?...
