Do you only use it before lifting or permanently? I am afraid if you loose one at driving there would be a big rumble in the wheel house.🤔 And the Bolts? Will they not remove the paint at the fold and then it will begin to oxidize ?
Permanently. I’ve done 150+mph with these on, on track in my 2018 SS 1LE, my 2022 SS 1LE and this ZL1 without issue. Those folds barely have any paint on them to begin with, but I don’t think oxidation will be a long term issue. You can always add a layer of paint or clear coat on the pinch weld before you install them.
Once the lift pads are installed where do you lift the car to be able to put the Jack stands under the lift pads? For example if you lift from that point how also do you put the Jack stand there? Do you lift from the middle of the car with a magnetic puck or somewhere else?
That is covered in the first minute of the video, and then again shown exactly where to lift from. Once you use the puck to lift the car you can place the jack stands under the lift pads.
Do you leave these on even while on track? No concerns with them coming loose? Also, can you leave jack stands on these pads or are they strictly lift points and then you put jack stands in another location? Thanks!
Yes, I leave these on even on track. They aren’t going anywhere once they are on. Yes, I lift the car with a universal jack puck and place the jack stands on the lift pads.
You make good videos. I would suggest using some blue lock tight on the alien screws and using a good t handle alien wrench or a alien socket to secure them better. Thanks for sharing your video.
@bens9450 ah, ok. I don’t think it is going to be easy to get these on without lifting the car a bit. Even if you can reach to place them, tightening the screws is going to be very difficult. Maybe not impossible, but damn near close to it.
The lift pads are from Amazon. The Amazon link is in the description, and I’ve had these on this car since September of 2021, and previously on my 2018. Zero issues. I have also installed them on a few other cars, including the one in the video. We lift these cars quite frequently with all the track duty and brake swaps we do. The magnetic pinch weld lift puck is from ZL1 Addons, and that link is in the description too.
@Follow My Line I did see the link after posting sorry but thanks for the feedback on their performance. It definitely appears like one of them didn't touch the pinch weld at all.
The pressure applied and distributed by these is on the base of the unit, not inside the slot where the pinch weld sits. That is essentially there for clearance. The set screws grab the pinch weld section and hold the lift pad in place. This is exactly how the ZL1 Addons units work as well, as I have compared these to my buddies ZL1AO lift pads. They were identical.
Me and a buddy bought three sets and put six on our cars. Great Video!
That’s a great idea! Eliminated the need for the universal pinch weld jack pad.
I also have a 2022 in Wild Cherry Tintcoat. Not a ZL1 though, an LT1 Manual.
@heathbuchanan6408 I have a 22 Wild Cherry SS 1LE. The Black ZL1 is a frequent guest of the channel though.
Great video. This is the best setup for the Camaro and the same I've been using for 5+ years.
Thanks! I’ve used these on my 2018 and my 2022.
This video is perfect. Thanks a lot!
Thank you, and you’re welcome!
Oh shi u just said the magnetic strat the way to go, like I was thinking. Perfect thanks
No problem!

Where did you get the one that you can adjust the square one?Amazon, you gotta buy four
I’m not entirely sure which one you mean.

I have a convertible and do not have the "mid-point" lift pinch weld. How do you raise a convertible to get the jack stands underneath?
The “mid-point” isn’t really at the middle of the car, it’s near the front. Your convertible should still have that pinch-weld location.
How do you place the jack stand after lifting?
You would use the pinch weld magpuck to lift the car and place the jack stands on the lift pads.
Do you leave these on even while on track? No concerns with them coming loose?

Who makes the pads for the convertible camaro ZL1?
ZL1 Addons does:

Thanks! Great suggestions!
Would you be able to do this without any jack stands?
I always recommend having something under the car besides the Jack to prevent injury or even death, if the Jack collapses. Safety first.
@@FollowMyLine17 Sorry, I meant I don't have any jacks at all, so will be trying to install with the car normally on the ground.

Those looks like the knockoffs. Would you happen to have a link and how are they holding up?
