Imo, Dan and the invisible boyfriend wake up in their cabin on the overnight ferry, and set out on their journey from Roscoff to Lorient to the interceltic festival there. There's a very long day of driving, rehearsing, and getting checked in at the festival and hotel ahead. Will we be able to get our heads down for that much needed afternoon nap? Watch to find out. ;¬)

Here in NY, you will occasionally see a crocheted bicycle :) The best I can do is a simple scarf, so I envy those who can manage to knit/crochet odd objects! Hahahah love the cows crossing the street! It's terrible, I took French in school and all I could remember from what you said at 12:36 was "something". Oh man. I gotta spiff up my French :-\ I always liked that word "quelque chose" so it sticks out in my head hahahaha!

The tea was good, actually! Really good - and I was surprised because the last time I'd had tea in France was a few decades ago and it had been really weak compared to the British taste, and expensive to buy, too, by comparison. But this time it was really high quality and surpassed what I would normally drink in the UK. x

I think the little place we visited was not Roscoff... I can't remember where it was now as I filmed this so long ago! It was a little bit of a drive from the port. Whoops... thanks again for stopping by. x
Assuming that little list of needed materials was not a clever satire on various foreign road regulations -- Good Grief. Good thing I'm not ever planning on driving in Europe. The one time I was in France for a week or so, I was taken with all the dog doo on the sidewalks, all the ambient cigarette smoke, and surprisingly good beer. Had a gun pulled on me while there, though.
Yikes! The gun part didn’t sound so good, and the doggy doo not so delightful, either. I didn’t notice too much of the latter and none of the former, although the police were armed.

A fun fact about Roscoff: here in Portugal we have the expression "marca Roscofe" (Roscofe brand), which means something "cheap, counterfeit or of bad quality". The origin of the expression, according to some experts, came from this: there was a 19th century german watchmaker called Georges Frederic Roskopf, who started making affordable watches to the lower classes, but immediately started being copied and the market was "invaded" by counterfeit versions of lower quality with similar names that gave the brand a bad reputation. Connected to this there's also another story (some call it an "urban legend") about watches that were sold as a good product to sailors in Roscoff, but thanks to an ingenious process only worked for 24h, which was normally the amount of time the sailors spent in the port. : )

France is so lovely, I'd love to go back to France - not neccessarily Paris though, I'd like to explore the quiet French countryside or small rural towns like Roscoff there one day

Hello! I couldn't quite remember, but I've Googled it and it said 6 hours for day crossings and 8 hours for night ones. I don't know why there is a difference, but I'm guessing it gives people more chance to get sleep at night (and probably encourages people to pay for a cabin, too - but again - that's just me guessing. ;¬) We got caught out on the way to France by the time difference, which we had forgotten about and not accounted for. Yes we are planning a trip to France in the spring & like yourselves reside in the West Country so either Plymouth or Southampton would be an ideal launch pad.

I assume those are the rules for all road users. I don’t know about 🏍 though! I probably wouldn’t have chosen to go out playing, but IB is unstoppable when it comes to playing music and the sessions at Lorient are pretty special x

Stupid driving safety rules. In most of Europe, if you just stop by the side of the road to admire the view or take a photo you don't need to wear florescent jackets but if you break down in the same spot you do! What's the difference? I hate petty bureaucracy.

I love the buildings and the streets in this vlog! It must be difficult driving a vehicle on the opposite side of the road when you’re in a vehicle made for the side in which you’re use to, if that makes since. 😂 (referring to the steering wheel placement being on the right side of the car while driving in the right lane.)
I expect the gears are pretty weird, too! I don't drive, myself.... I find it hard enough remembering which way to look as a pedestrian when crossing the road! Ha ha!
