- Morrison was already a Colorado town notorious for cracking down on traffic infractions. Now, new speed cameras have already led to tens of thousands of tickets in a two-week span.

And it’s another Colorado road that’s too fast for the terrain but still marked for speeds based on seventies suspension and brakes technology.
Definitely a signage issue. That blue speed camera warning sign is not MUTCD compliant sign.

@@LoganJohnson-lm2bh I just checked at googleearth and confirmed a suspicion: The speed camera is capturing people accelerating out of the through-town 25 mph zone BEFORE they drive pass the 40mph sign that is IN SIGHT. It’s a classic speed trap.
@@LoganJohnson-lm2bh I’m somewhat sympathetic with Morrison because it’s a tiny town with too much traffic passing through, but the camera placement is a classic speed trap: in one direction it’s capturing cars not decelerating quickly enough from a 40 state hiway into 25mph through-town funnel, and in the other direction it’s capturing cars accelerating out of the 25 zone before they pass the 40mph sign outside of town, less than a thousand feet away.
This town is always doing something shady, ALWAYS
But remember this: they will not use those cameras to ticket with VERY expired vehicle registration or VERY expired temp tags.
No reason that road should be 25 MPH (I'm a professional traffic engineer).

People should find a way to avoid this town (and its businesses). Then they’ll be crying about no traffic coming through the town to buy their things.
They have approximately one restaurant and a rock shop.
Living in NYC there's a speed cam on every other block. I tag the location of every speed cam as a Favorite Place. Whenever I'm within 300 feet of a camera.....I get notification with a dog barking....
Photo radar is not legal in this state, yet. Simply ignore the ticket. Colorado statute guarantees personal service for a citation. If you don't sign it. It's not valid.

A cash donation. It has excellent signage, and the driver must intentionally drive faster then the posted speed limit in order to make a payment. It's optional, you must want it, and break the law to be allowed to pay.
@@docwatson1134 There’s too much traffic for the road, which encourages speeding; the road is one of many in Colorado that’s to easy to drive fast considering the twisty terrain; modern cars drive and corner WAY faster than cars did when most of the speeds were first posted. It’s a complex problem mostly caused by too many people in too small of a space.

In Australia we have mobile camera and fixed speed cameras e everywhere it socks. Our fines are 10x the cost too. It's a slippery slope. Government loves the $ so they put them everywhere in the name of safety

Police shouldn’t be fired for not reaching ticket quotas. I mean you only have a limited # of cops per department. Police departments shouldn’t have quotas for tickets like they are a car dealer trying to sell cars.
