Hashtag United are a one-of-a-kind football and esports club, based in Essex, England. Formed in 2016 by Spencer Owen as a group of mates playing exhibition games, we now play in the 8th tier of English football, the Isthmian League North. We won our league in our first season in non-league football and were looking good for a second promotion when the 2019/20 season was voided, but after the 2020/21 season went the same way with us top of the Essex Senior League, we were eventually awarded promotion based on PPG over the two part seasons. We merged with AFC Basildon Women in summer 2020 and formed our women's team, Hashtag United FC Women, who play in the 4th tier of women's football, the FA Women's National League Division 1 South East. We also now have 40+ youth teams, reserve and development teams...and not forgetting our esports team who play FIFA at the world's highest level. Like, theres literally evidence that certain teams get far more favorable calls than others at the highest level of english football. The FA is falling to keep refs accountable, nothing will happen to this one.
Yes, while the first red was harsh it's technically not beyond the laws of the game.. But the second red was dreadfully wrong, and the inconsistencies surrounding cautions were staggering with some cautionable fouls not even given.. One of the worst referee displays I've ever seen

Wroxham fans at the game actually said that Brooksey got the ball for that first one. Albeit from the camera angle (near me as well) it looked like a foul.

Just a lot of matchfixing in these lower leagues. When there is this ridiculous ammount there's almost always a equally silly bet on it.
@@Hhuityxcd Can you bet at this level? I don't think you can, certainly not officially. So I wouldn't go throwing around such serious accusations of matchfixing when:
a) it may well have just been a dodgy ref
b) I don't know that you would have a leg to stand on legally.

I really hope you have provided the FA with some constructive feedback. Either the ref is not cut out for this level or needs some real support with future performances. Maybe he struggles with the atmosphere of players and fans to influence his decisions? Didn’t seem consistent at all between the 2 teams!

I read some comments on Twitter after the game Saturday, saying Hashtag should be ashamed. I think it’s very much the complete opposite. The ref was on a clear and obvious mission to disrupt the momentum the tags are on atm. Wroxham should be ashamed more than anything. They had everything go in their favour and still lost. Bravo Hashtag Bravo 👏🏻 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

No matter what sport you play, we can all agree that a strict ref is "ok" as long as it goes both ways. The moment it's not balanced, it just makes you want to pack up and go home if you're on the raw end.

Wow. Ok so Neutral opinion from making my office watch this - absolute shocker. Ref deserves to be reported. No consistency across the game. Upsetting for our fans - certainly our younger ones who we are still trying to teach that football is a fair and inclusive game..poor watch for anyone who has children and has to explain this diabolical excuse of a game because of the referee’s shocking decision making. Comments from a colleague of mine, who supports another team in our league and is actually a member of the committee of this other team in our league: ‘You were in Norfolk/Suffolk, they’re always biased to the home side up there. Ref’s know the players names…some even live in the same towns. We’ve been screwed up there many times.’ Anyhow …I’m super proud of our team 💙💛😌👍🏽
Conveniently left out the scrap and headbutt before the second red card which was why they added so much time on…. Guess that’s the power of editing your own videos.
We assure you, had we included everything it would make the oppo look far worse. Be careful what you wish for. So yes, we are selective because we can be. But sometimes there’s no winner and by showing everything here we’d see Wroxham penalised more than us. It’s also not a good look for either team so we won’t be focusing on it.
@@HashtagUnited I mean if you say so, I was at the game and saw everything that happened. Just think don’t complain about added time when a large chunk of that was caused due to the scuffle on the pitch and the game being stopped. I agree the ref made many mistakes but the added time was justified, had they of scored I imagine this would have been a bigger topic.
