I don't know why she came into it with that kind of preconceived notion. The Transformers shows and movies have never tried to appeal to the adult fans.

This definitely isn't "animation for adults."
Partly because outside of the social media bubble, "animation for adults" isn't really a thing. Unless you put crazy amounts of gore & blood into it like Invincible, there really aren't a lot of things in animation that not everyone can watch & enjoy.
Animation is for everyone and the point of transformers is to sell toys.

Big Transformers fan but i wouldn't see this in theaters.
Nah.... that black actor who was in the Godzilla vs Kong movie is involved, which gave me red flags that this was going to be a project I couldnt take seriously. Nothing against the actor personally, but he brings that over the top comedy that I dont want near a project like this.

It feels so strange seeing Optimus and Megatron portrayed like this… Transformers has always been for Kids but I was expecting something a little more somber.
This is very Guardians/Borderlands and I’m not sure it’s hitting with OG fans. But I’m sure kids will get a blast out of it

The Cybertron world building and lore looks amazing. The jokes didn't land for me at all.
I feel like they're showing all the goofiest moments in the trailer. Hopefully, they're not so close together and flow better in the actual movie. But of course, it's almost always been a franchise for kids, aside from Bayformers.
@@rileywoods45This is based on the Exodus/Exiles novels, part of the War for Cybertron video game story, which was an adaptation of the War Within comics… those were no more “for kids” than any other comic book story that was used for the MCU
I’m just glad it’s not another Spider-Verse looking movie. Love the style but it gets old when every animated movie does it

I think its really weird that we are past original beyond spiderverse date n they still haven't given at least approximate release date. Surely nobody's askin them exact date, but not even year, is kinda concerning. I mean studios have booked at least year for release n we have some animation projects slated for even 2026. Thats a really odd situation. R they still bitter n not over that oscar loss? Get it together man!

I thought we were "trying" to get past the heavy reliance of constant jokey jokes. The few jokes that landed will get drowned out in the deluge.

why todays movie have to be all quirky and zany all the time? the trailer felt so disappointing to me it felt like one of those movies where comedy is forced in serious/important dialogues all the time

So your mad that a series based on toys is a kids movie? We already got 5 movies of "adult" transformers and they took out any of the personality and fun out of all the robots.
I had to pause immediately after you said animation for adults. I've already seen the trailer, this is 100% for kids. The style of animation, the child like humor. Idk, to me this looks terrible. Ok time to unpause and see what you think.

Man watching Guardian of Galaxy for the first time, I didn’t realize that this was gonna be the future of like 90% of the blockbusters that have come out since. I’m definitely so sick and tired of this ‘brand’ of blockbuster movie and I don’t think this will do well given what happened last year.

Micheal Bay really made people forget that the TRANSFORMERS were always a kids animated brand. If Lego Batman can exist along side Batman v Superman, so can this if it's good.
I don't think people forgot it's a brand targeted for kids, I think they just wanted a serious introspective drama about the rise and fall Orion's and Megatron's relationship. The tone of something like Transformers Prime would've been perfect. Even the short backstory we got there was amazing. They could've just taken that and expanded on it into a movie. It was literally right there and I think that's what everyone thought this movie was going to to be. I really don't get why they chose to go in this direction to be honest.

Read the comics about the golden age of cybertron. And the lower class transformers working in the pits or in the fighting arena's to life and death fights, to entertain the upper class transformers. That is where Megatron came from
@dejajade6726 Well, the Transformers were the original made to sell toys cartoon series along with G.I Joe. Also, I looked it up because I couldn't recall Paramount doing animation. They have exclusively done animation skewing toward a very young audience(Paw Patrol and Spongebob).
I'm personally not interested in it, but I think it does make sense who it was made for and why the more you look at the studio.

As a Transformers Fan, I will be taking My Sons opening weekend to see. I'm impressed with the job that Chris is doing with Optimus. Key is Key and always funny. So him as Bumblebee is a breath of fresh air.

Transformers is supposed to be for kids. It’s literally based off toys. Some things shouldn’t be made for adults only. Doesn’t mean they have to be bad though
This is actually based on Transformers: Exodus, which was literally written for adults.

I like that Bumblebee gets his G1 Toy "Battle Mask" and has his War For/Fall Of Cybertron energon blades.
Elita-1 sounds good, and I would have preferred a sleeker car alt mode, rather than a Tron-style bike.
Megatron's "H-Tank" mode was expected, but his voice is pretty awful and way out of character then I'm used too. Kind of like how Beast Wars Megatron was in comparison to G1, you know? Were there rumors Idris Elba was supposed to be Megs? He should have been cast. Jason Momoa would have worked too.
Orion Pax/Optimus Prime looks and sounds pretty good. Nice alt mode as we've seen the toy from the Amazon preorders, so I like the blend of Siege/FOC/Cyberverse and Animated to his truck and robot modes.
The animation looks absolutely stunning!!! It certainly is not in the tone of the seriousness and adult animation that the War For Cybertron Siege/Earthrise/Kingdom Trilogy on Netflix was, but this Movie looks better than I expected, so it may be a fun romp!

I'm over 40, and while I do see the appeal this has for kids, I'll probably see it in theatres, I'm not so insecure as to claim I wouldn't be caught dead watching something like this. Anyone who says something like that sounds like they need to grow up - which ironically makes them the target audience.

Yeah, it's primarily for kids. But... It's actually drawing from a lot of the various established lore and designs of the past incarnations, and doing some good mixing and matching. And as someone who was around for the pre-movie G-1 cartoon, this is really a great tonal callback to the G-1 days. This is how we get kids like my niece to embrace the franchise. I'd totally like to take her to see this, and I'm looking forward to it a bit, myself.

while I’m disappointed that it won’t be a feature length version of the Bumblebee opening scene, I think I will enjoy this quite a bit because of the vibe. Transformers has always taken itself so seriously it’s kind of nice to have something that isn’t so grim. It’s refreshing.
Idk it feels kinda like the DC Superpets movie. While I liked it, everyone else thought it was trash. I don’t think this is gonna be the best robot based animated movie this September lol 👀

Megatron and Optimus have always had these weathered voices even before the Bay films, Chris and Brian don't have that even with the modulation!
Also, this looks like Transformers that is made for Nickelodeon like TMNT Mutant Mayhem, instead of something that is on par with something like a Spiderverse storytelling wise.
I’m going to watch anyway, because finally after years we have transformers without any humans for once!

Looks enjoyable, I’ll be taking my kids in theatre as it’s animation style is on point and the jokes land in a way that is fun but not annoying. To me it’s a happy medium, not annoyingly childish but accessible enough to make me want to go see it and not just a babysitter movie.

Am so disapointed, looks and feels like the smurfs in space. What i wanted was a 1986 Movie but then with the backstory about elite and workingclass transformers. Like the origin story in the comics from Megatron, a slave working in the pits. And life and deaths fights in the Arena, stuff like that.

The actual origins of Transformers in the comics is pretty interesting, it goes to some dark places without relying on gore or foul language for adults.

I love the new crew of The Guardians of the Galaxy.
I appreciate fans of one show/era will not always like change... (I saw the 84 movie in the cinema and remember the hate the Bayverse got from some G1ers) but the success of that series allowed Hasbro the finance to release numerous classic/obscure figures that never would have seen the light of day otherwise....
The live action movies (love them or hate them) had become very messy, storywise, and resetting this movie for a new generation is a wise move.... if it helps us get another decades-worth of product, I am happy with that.
