Had a similar acquisition and did the distributors, plugs, wires, and valve adjust and new aluminum billet valve covers with three overhauled injectors. Knocked out 90% percent of the and runs much better. Yes that was fun while in the car, but a Quick-Jack helped alot.. She is back on the perch (QJ) now awaiting a new flexible hydraulic hose for the clutch, but the other lasted 31 years, so can't complain. Requiring a lot of love now, but my gosh what a solid car that Porsche built...
Don’t forget the 30yo fuel lines too. Car fire is one of my fears so that was on the top of my list. I agree after buying my Quick Jack doing work is so much easier
It’s interesting that the title says it came from Germany because it was most likely first sold in Japan or the UK. Nice find and welcome to the 964 owners community.
Interesting and well presented. Will gladly follow. Previous owner of a 993 and now Carrera T. The 993 had 150.000 km and low in maintenance and repairs. These are solid cars.
great video, I can tell this is the first in a long series. I bought a 993 for the same reason and no matter how many little things there are, driving is still a blast!
If I may add one thing as a fellow owner. First mods should be a fire extinguisher. And definitely look into your fuel lines they are in the engine bay a a few just under the intake manifold. A lot of people over look this or wait until they need to do the engine. Which sometimes can be too late after the engine catches fire. I had to have my engine resealed when I first bought mine which turned into a full build so it was on the list. Food for thought.
Good Luck. I have 964 C4 92. Lots of upgrade options on these car with regards to exhaust, suspension etc. If that is all that is wrong with it you found a bargain.
Good luck with the work. I got a 964 last year at a good price as well and have been working on it over winter. Condition was not as bad as yours (I paid more as well). The engine mounts need to be replaced as well from seeing the video. Also replace the transmission mount. Both are very easy to do and will change the feel of the car dramatically. Good luck!
*I always wanted a 964 (or any air cooled 911 really) but the only 911 I could afford to buy was a 996. I figured that Porsche will have tried hard to make them drive every bit as well as any air cooled 911's and I wasn't wrong. I think even their looks have got better with age and owning any 911 is better than not owning one! I look forward to seeing what you do with this. Will you keep it as 4 wheel drive or convert to 2 wheel?*
I have a long term keeper 964 but the 996 is awesome! ive had a few and would have another in a heart beat. Your right about the looks as well, the early fried eggs look awesome to me now yet i hated them a few years ago
Aww man! It looks so much cleaner with nice glass plug, they're made here in Germany and it's a really nice cnc'd glass, I love em. I'll show ya soon on the R34!
These look like Cup II wheels, which were original to the 993. The 964 had Cup I wheels, which have flatter spokes and were all 16" in the normally aspirated cars (turbos had 17"). Good luck with the restore. Looking forward to more videos.
@@LXGspec They are very valuable if restored to the original condition. You could easily sell them for good money. The same applies to Cup I's. Cheers from the States,

I was sold at "bought this car for myself, not to make a buck on it"...that is always the right reason to buy a car.
I’d love to find a cheap one in my hometown. I don’t care about having a perfect one just one I can enjoy driving. Your car looks amazing!
Thanks man, it's not perfect but there is great potential! I was really lucky getting this one, I hope you'll find something as well!
@@LXGspec a walk
Really looking forward to seeing your journey with the car. Love the fact that it's all beat up .... way more interesting than watching concourse ....

Can't wait to see for which wheel setup you're going for this time!
I think it would be nice if you build a kind of Magnus Walker style Porsche. The patina tells a story.
Such a cool project!
I was living in Ingolstadt for a few years, that Oldtimer Hotel really is something unique
great video, I can tell this is the first in a long series. I bought a 993 for the same reason and no matter how many little things there are, driving is still a blast!
Lovely car, the best version of the classic Porsche. Good luck with the repairs and upgrades. A rare find these days!
Many thanks!

I'll be sure to check the lines, Thanks for the heads up. And I always have an FE in my cars!
Man, I need to do doorhandles and wipers as well. Are you gonna make a quick video about it? I would highly appreciate that!
Sure thing!
@@LXGspec Danke sehr! Grüße aus Frankfurt. Darf ich fragen, wo du her kommst? Bin neu auf Deinem Kanal.

Very nice Porsche 964 besides the stuff, which needs to be fixed. Can‘ t wait to the see the progress.

Nothing wrong with it then ! , just old ! , which is a plus in my book :)

Awesome, thanks for letting me know!
best of luck . the small parts are the fun ones. snowball effect
I am exited to see what JDM you pack into this car! I am doing the same thing with a 73” 911!
Awesome!
For all of its faults, its still a beautiful little car. Can't wait to see progress on it😎

Hmm. I have a set of white 964 Cup mirrors and think I want flag mirrors. Maybe we should swap.
Shoot me an email!
i would have thought you would want to do full engine rebuild given the condition of the car.
I think an old 964 with a sound body and missing parts would be a good project to modify how you won't
What are you planning on this 964 ? Full track car build ?
Leave the rear wiper! They're so cool.

I would lean to leave most of the stuff as it is - too many great 911s driving around 😉
r34 update plz......nd love ur videos
Not keen on dark wheels
There are some great interior parts in a polish Porsche restoration shop called CarBone Liveries. You should check it out :)
I've been following their IG but I believe they're a tad on the "exclusive" side regarding their pricing ;) That said, they do incredible work!
Those are 993 Wheels. Cup II

I’m a purist
So I’m going to follow with some trepidation
Haha really appreciate it! I've got a couple of nice things even for purists coming!
no such thing as a cheap 964 here in australia let alone a cheap 911, cheapest 964 here is ~$90k
It looks great to me, a drivers car, you wouldn’t worry about parking at the supermarket?
keep it as a rat rod
Warum machst du das nicht in deutscher Sprache??? hättest mehr Clicks
Halte ich für hoch unwahrscheinlich 😉
get rid of those 993 wheels please they have no place on a 964
they long gone
@@LXGspec Ok great to hear!!! Hope the car progressing really well for you
I’ll buy it from you if you’re interested in selling it
