- In this video we will show you how to thread Chinese overlocker/serger Meishi GN1-1. It’s not hard, but it’s tricky.
►NOTE◄ First unplug the power cord for safety!
Use tweezers to thread the overlocker easier.
☼ Threading the upper looper: 0:08
►NOTE◄ Removing the side plate is optional You can thread the upper looper without removing the side plate. However, if you remove it - use a magnetic screwdriver, because the screws are very small and you can lose them.
☼ Threading the needle: 2:48
In my experience I found that the tension dial on the needle thread should be tighter than the upper and lower loopers. But this may vary for the different types of threads.
☼ Threading the lower looper: 4:27
►NOTE◄ The flywheel must be rotated only towards the back of the machine /clockwise/

There could be several reasons for this. Firstly, check the thread tension to ensure it is set correctly. Also, verify that the thread you are using is suitable for your machine and in good condition-not dried out or weakened (maybe try a different spool). If the thread on the lower looper breaks, double-check that it is threaded correctly. I hope this helps you resolve the issue.

Hi, thank you for your comment! For this overlock you have to use polyester high speed sewing thread. I am using 120 spun polyester spools.

The needle system for this machine is DCx1. The size I am using is 80/12 or 100/16, depending on the material. These are the needles I can buy in my country: photos.app.goo.gl/KDSEWTerpA6wx9kn9

Заправляет 3-разные цвета ниток и 3-натяжениями регулирует шов. Все просто.

Faz 2 anos que comprei nunca usei ,esqueci como liga, meu tem o motor gente esqueci tudo ,está travado na roda do lado ,adorei encontrar preciso relembrar tudo .
Many thanks. But when threading the needle the thread first passes through a plate with 5 holes in it. 3 in a row are used for the needle. Then when you do the lower looper you use the first hole again!
se me rompio aguja apenas me llego nueva, y le puse aguja aprete mucho ke giraba barra,,ybaguj ano llegaba a las cuchillas siento el volante duro ke hago ke video veo.

Is there a way to adjust how far the pressure foot raises? Mine only lifts by a few mm so it’s hard to get the fabric underneath
The instructions say that the machine cannot sew more than 4 mm thick fabrics. Therefore, I think this is the maximum.

I'm glad you found the video helpful. Yes, replacement knives for the machine are still available. I bought new ones for my machine last year, and they were not expensive at all. Unfortunately, I can't suggest a place to buy them from or even give you a link, since I removed mine and went to a physical store with sewing supplies and bought mine from there. I can't place orders from AliExpress, Ebay, Amazon, but there are plenty of offers for such knives on these sites. Just type "GN1-1 knives" in the search bar, if you can use these sites, and you don't have a physical store where you can go and ask.

Check that the presser foot is lowered by the lever on the back of the machine, or check if the screw for regulating the stitch length is tight (it is also on the back of the machine).
