Curious, if ya don’t mind answering: Do you remember the first time you ever saw a praying mantis? Whether it was through a picture, video, or in person? I know my first encounter with one was quite otherworldly, there’s nothing quite like seeing one for the first time and not knowing what it is. As an itty bitty girl wanting to play in the garden dirt, saw a huge one on top of a wheelbarrow and I froze, staring at it. It then just slowly turned its head in my direction, which I then proceeded to scream and tell my elder brother about it, considering him the “bug expert”. Of course, my simple “it had arms like this” description gave him all the info he needed to know and he was super excited. We then proceeded to go catch praying mantis in the garden. We found two brown ones and a beautiful green one. Yours is definitely way prettier than the ones we caught in the wild. You must be proud. :)
Mantis have to be the most beautiful insects in the world. I used to catch them when I grew up in California. They looked very much like that one. They were considered good luck to find.
Very cool. Mantis have lots of personality, makes for a good show every time. The timelapse is a good addition, but I think only the mantis and the centipedes would give a good show for it. The tarantulas hide their meals with their body from most angles it seems like to me.
Now that was cool, can't believe how it devoured the whole thing in 10 - 12 mins, compared to the length of time a T would take to consume a super worm. Nice slowmo takedown too, loving your Vlogs

+Basin79 here in the USA we can feed live vertebrates to our pets,luckily. My mantids would never eat dead prey,same with my spiders. I feed them baby geckos from time to time and they love to eat them.
i did feed my tarantula a frog once wont do it again, it will start to rot and smell something fierce. takes so long for them to eat it all. So best stick with insects :P

The Spiderman they are two completely different worms actually, the mealworms will never get to be the size of a morio. They make the change at about half the size.
