Carried mine in Iraq, Central America, Afghanistan, Nepal, Europe and it served me perfectly. The people who bash it for its partial tang or serrations or not the best super duper particle steel are generally not using it for its intended purpose.
It was purpose-built for extrication from aircraft. The construction allows it to be used in situations that might otherwise get you electrocuted. And, the beefy pommel is a glass breaker. Overall, it's a fantastic piece to have in your kit.
I have always liked the look and reputation of the LMF II. Unfortunately, IMO, serrations on a belt knife are about as useful as teats on a boar hog. Serrations are a deal breaker, for me
Really? Why don’t you like a serrated blade? Also, check out their Strong Arm knife. Great knife and you can get it without a serrated blade. amzn.to/3BTOpyv
@3MinuteReviewsAllDay To me serrations just get in the way of some tasks. I know some folks like them for cutting cordage and the like but a good, sharp plain edge cuts cordage as well. In fact, snything serrations can do a plain edge can do as well or better, IMO, at least for me. I don't like serrations from an aesthetic standpoint, either. Plus they create an extra step in honing/sharpening/maintaining the edge. For several years Walmart sold a version of the Gerber Prodigy without the serrations. My understanding is that it was a Walmart exclusive. The blade is basically the same as the Strongarm but with a different grip shape - I don't own a Strongarm but have held one and actually prefer the Prodigy grip. I bought a non-serrated Prodigy some years back and when Walmart was going to stop stocking them and put them on clearance I picked up a couple of extra. It is not necessarily my 'favorite' knife but I do think it is a good, all around knife. It is sometimes my carry fixed blade. I just wish the sheath were as modular as the Strongarm.

Agree! It’s a great blade.
The pommel also has a flat part that works as a hammer and the sheath has a built in sharpener.
Yes, it’s a great knife!

Yes sir! It’s a great knife. I haven’t used it as much as I would like to, but it’s nice to know I’ve got it
