When they tried a partial mobilisation, 3 times more young men fled the country than got mobilised. If Russia tried to mobilise 1 million men today, you'd see an exodus of millions of Russians, mostly young, skilled men, leaving Russia drained of manpower. Not just in the military, but also in their vital industries. Russia had 12.600 tanks pre-war according to official data. Right now, if we include all the scrap, it has about 5.000 left, and if we ignore all the scrap, it has 2.800 or fewer tanks left. Only 279 tanks in Russia's stockpiles are considered in "decent" shape. 109 T-62s and 170 T-72Bs. Russia lost about 200 tanks this month, which would bring it to about 3.700 tanks lost this year. Even if we half that number for whatever reason, that's still more than Russia can produce AND repair in a year.

Ukraine is not only on a shortage of manpower, but FPV/kamikaze drones aswell. Throughout 2024, Russia has produced around ~10,000 Genera/Gebera (kamikaze drones, can strike anything within 2,500 kilometers) while ukraine is relying on unmanned drones due to manpower shortages. Additionally, due to the harsh winter conditions on the front, drones cannot stay in the air for long and not allowing for drone commanders to hunt. It is an issue for both Russia and Ukraine, but is more devastating to the Ukrainians due to producing cheaper drones, being more fragile to the winter. This is becoming a serious issue for Ukraine. As they now have to put valuable recourses into traditional air defenses, risking depletion of missile stocks against drone swarms. Info on satellite images: it must be pointed out that, since Russia has a bunch of different bases with stockpiles, and since satellite images cost money, and require good weather, not all bases will have up-to-date images. Below I present a list of dates when satellite images were taken, and how much of Russia’s stockpiles they represent. The importance of this is to show that a significant portion of the remaining stockpiles rely on outdated images, which means the true number of remaining stock will be even lower.
