^^^ These videos are great for beginners!! ^^
Your video is incredibly helpful my friend! Your very transparent and knowledgeable about the hobby. I recently started listing on eBay in September and I’ve been consistently requesting to increase my selling limit every month. I’m slowly growing my eBay inventory as best as possible. I’m at the 57 minute mark in your video and I promise you that 1 hour was NOT wasted!!!! I love Pokémon cards from the WOTC era. I know someone who sells lots of Pokémon cards from the WOTC era, so I plan on being more consistent with buying and reselling. I started my eBay with 50 cards, now I have over 400! I spent 10-12 hour nights listing on eBay sometimes and it honestly didn’t feel like work. I’m passionate about the cards I buy and sell. Thanks for sharing glimpses of what your life is like as a full time Pokémon card seller! I work a seasonal hard labour job at a fish plant and becoming a full time Pokémon card seller would be a dream come true! Keep grinding my friend!
Bulk buyer and seller in the US here! Everything you say is spot on, 100%. I'm basically doing the start over life after moving across US. Bulk is life! Love the advice to sell a lot of stuff quickly to find out what you /want/ to be doing longer term
I’m watching this just because I’m relaxing for the night. I’m just fascinated by the whole Pokémon card collection scene. I work in web development. No interest in selling cards.
You're a beast for keeping our webs developed. Glad the video could help you out with some entertainment
Steven, there is nothing wrong with me, for staying, or you, for doing this video! Awesome listening to, while I list the cards from a new collection that I just bought.
Awesome. Hope it was a good collection.
Thanks to you I’ve been able to start selling on eBay and I’ve already sold over 65 dollars in 3 days. It’s not a lot I know but you’ve really inspired me and helped me a lot. Thank you.
A little work everyday goes a long way, Goodluck man
$65 is incredible, i remember my first 60 days on ebay was like $450 and i sold 320 cards ranging from $1-2 each haha.
Thanks for this kind of video. Having this in the background while I do my socials, pack orders, clean up the workstation etc - basically everything I need to do to keep funding the collection
Thanks Steve for being my background while I pack orders
❤️
This Content deserves to be the foreground
Haha I have no idea what it means
@@PokemonSteven You say your videos should run in the background while viewers doing something else. I think they should be in the foreground and people should focus their main attention since its valuable
2:13:07 Maybe I am lol. Just sorting cards too. lol. I'm thinking to buy and sell Japanese AR cheaper cards to start. What do you think?
good idea, they are awesome
We expect to be included in all future card sorting
Might be a good idea
Great episode man! yes you should do a Podcast with okJLUV
I just wanna sell some duplicate cards on the side to help pay for the hobby. No way I could do it full time
good idea, just keep it fun and it never gets old
Pokémon Steven’s “Made it out the Muk” merch?
Lmao that's a good one
Really nice video! Just subbed
glad you enjoyed
That's some high quality H20
yum
2 HOUR BANGER? LFG STEVE

i watched the whole video
awesome
This lad is chill
Poop
PSA 1 zapdos! woo lol
Lmao 👉 👈
Where are the good cards?
I don't own any
@@PokemonSteven neither :(
daymmm lets go, enjoy you being exception to the rule and pleased for you but the market is hyper inflated and disgusting
understandable. but, i am sorting cards that anyone can buy and list, they are very cheap, so the barrier to entry is quite low, just takes some time and effort =]
I loved the part that you mentioned playing Fortnite, hahahaha.
And I couldn't agree more about how consistency is key, both for sellers and for content creators. Actually, it's key for everyone trying to get somewhere.
People sometimes forget that big things are earned, not given...
Anyway, great video again, Steven!
For sure, you are a spitting image of incredible consistency. Thanks sharshock :)
this is good advice as I've just started selling pokemon cards and I'm from sydney too so this is perfect
Well I found another use for these videos, I drove my son around who was fussing and played this video, he calmed down and fell asleep! Must have a soothing and consistent voice. Thanks!
I think the word you were looking for is monetarily… hah just missing the ly. Why do you sort by type and Pokémon and not by set and number? More just curious.
Again thanks for all you do, I’m mostly a collector.
There are so many sets, so having 100+ places to sort things gets difficult.
Card type is only 10 or so, and then alphabetical is 26 theoretically, but if you only have a few cards from one set it works a lot better.
When I'm listing I can list by type and then alphabetically so when I put stuff away it's ez
@@PokemonSteven ah makes a ton of sense with your system, cool thanks!
I also bought 3 Yu-Gi-Oh! cards from you because of the videos!
You are a yugioh God
@@PokemonSteven lmao thanks
Like the rambles. Wish I started a YT way earlier I could have had every box opened on one channel 😭. Glad I made it when I did though.
I actually found out about you via a okJLUV stream, he mentioned what you did and I started watching your content because it sounded awesome, you and him are my favourite pokemon creators, mainly because you're both chill and laid back and don't raise your voices above normal speaking levels haha. I would watch the shit out of a collab
Hes a funny guy for sure
Hello Pokemon Steven. :) do you happen to have any Pokemon 1996 JPN base set graded cards in PSA 9 or 10 for sale? :) it would be nice to pay from a trusted seller and more cards total
"I love touchin' 'em, i love playin' with 'em, i love smellin' 'em, i love feelin' 'em"
me too steve, me too 😂
Lmao did I actually say that
@@PokemonSteven yeah about an hour and half in i think haha
What would be a good place to start buying for a noob? Any tips?
I have a video on sourcing cards, check that one out
Love OKJluv. One of the first people I followed when I started to get into the hobby. Would love to see you two make a podcast.
Hes a beast
Another great video, man. I'm getting my accounts and store setup and plan on selling part-time while I work starting in January. Working from home is great, especially in IT as I don't really "work" unless something breaks. My goal isn't to quit my job, as I make 6 figures and doubt I'd get to that mark any time soon, but to just make extra $$$ to build more wealth.
I'm not sure what I'd do for a TH-cam channel....maybe open packs and give hits away, but I'll think more on that later. As always, appreciate your content.
Np. Good luck, just focus on building value and you'll be fine
So surprised that you help the copycats.... I have one copycat who copies my insta post, pricing.... did not answer to their question/help.... lol You are a great guy Steven... need to learn from ya!!!
lol it is what it is
thats funny cool trainer ryan bought your garys!! lmao watching his video was funny, 7 7 7 7 hha wow cool man. first of your videos i ever watched (halfway thorugh) deff sub and following ya. btw i find your rammbling very nice to listen to, as thats what i do via youtube anyways. just backround noise! you seem like a good feller. have a blessed day. im gona stop because i can ramble on just the same :P
haha, it was actually maxmoefoe that did, but for sure, glad i could help you.
$200 for that kind of video ain't bad at all!
Yeah I know; crazy!
Does it make sense once you have a good sell through rate to start selling more of the low grade stock and keeping mid grade, then the same for high price stock? Like buying houses until you can afford the hotel. Transfer the wealth into larger price items for less storage and less individual transactions if you ever want to liquidate, but keep doing the transactions that offer cashflow.
ask this one the latest ask steve and i can give you a better answer my friend
I'm glad you made good money doing this Steve
Just from watching this it's easy to see you are a good person.
I hope you continue to profit and live well because of your choices, decisions and good luck. 😀
I appreciate that, but most of the big money is made with grading, this stuff is labour of love lol
thanks for the nugget im totodile bulk hunting now lol
bro has a thermomix lets go
I love the thermo
An okjluv Pokémon Steven podcast would be the best podcast in the Pokémon game. Facts
Lmao prob not best but he's awesome
For a middle-aged guy like me that was part of the OG gang 25 years ago in Australia, went on an almost complete Pokemon vacuum for 23 years and only just started collecting (and perhaps eventually selling) again very recently and currently getting overwhelmed by the sheer number of card varieties the IP currently holds and wondering whether it's worth getting into it this "late" in the game and now being based in Indonesia where the Indonesian version's only just produced in 2019, what you said in 20:40 is gold : "Pokemon is incredible".
There's absolutely no reason to doubt its popularity 30-40 years from now as it already has been for the last 27 years.
Well said!
Love the longer videos. Eventhough they take 1.5 a 2 hours, it feels like 15 minutes xD
I started collecting cards graded a few months ago, and bulk a bit before that. I walk vs a wall, where i see people asking tomuch for their bulk. What would you say is the median for buying cards, ea 0,02 for common, 0,10 for holos etc?
I think every set if cards is different, but I suggest just trying to get your hands in something first and see how well they sell, and then adjust to what you want to pay with how well they sell
Great vidoes! Cant you make a video about how you store your inventory? How to find the card quick that you have sold? Regards from Sweden!
Sure! I'll work on it next month
I’m in a similar situation with Yugioh right now. My collection is insane, been buying for 10+ years consistently. I sell from time to time, but I definitely buy more than I sell. But I enjoy collecting more than selling, so I don’t mind holding everything I have because I just love these cards so much! One day I’ll get selling seriously, but for now, I’m just chillen ❤️ Great video to listen to in the background from someone who I can relate to. 🙏 Looking forward to your future uploads like this!
Thanks! One day I'll sort some yugioh on a video
How do you store and organize all your ungraded singles? I saw how you keep your graded cards.. Is it the same way for ungraded? By type and then just alphabetically?
Yep, type and then set, and then certain things I have a lot of go in a multiple quantity box
Big yes to JLUV colab. A regular thing would be cool. Maybe something that focuses on the artists a bit more. That's missing in the space
Whatever he decides, it'll be fun
Got suggested this, relaxing stuff i love pokemon cards but only collect listened and looked while playing games keep it up I want a twitch channel of u sorting all sorts of cards h24 lol
Lmao glad you enjoyed it
That's how you know your delusional! I swear I heard this story before but it turns out it's just groundhogs day all over again!
Lmfao I probably said it before
Watched the whole video while working on something else :)) I do agree some podcasts would be nice but these videos where you go through your cards are also fun every now and then! Only thing I would change to make it more interesting is maybe call out every time you come across a card you like or a card with an interesting story behind it so people can switch tabs and take a look as well xD But all in all another great video! Keep 'em coming! :)
Will do more of that for sure
1:57:07 hahahaha! The first minute that Pancakes video started, i thought the same thing 😅 even though it turned out delicious and got my stomach hungry also a great video. Thanks for sharing your mind Steven 🙂
They were really yummy lol
podcast would be a very good format for you, i think. just long convesations about pokemon. do 1 with JLuv, would be awesome
maybe if he doesnt ignore me we can do something
@@PokemonSteven would be the biggest poke podcast Quick. Both of you have intresting perspectives on the hobby.
You said you almost threw Totodile into the bulk pile. What do you do with the bulk?
well its not really bulk, i just almost put it in with the neo genesis cards, instead of the promo pile lol. They are sorted into different areas in my inventory, so want to keep it easier for myself in the future :P
@PokemonSteven Ah. I heard you mention that dude that sells bulk for a buck a piece. That's me. My ebay store is a bit of everything. Not just cards. Clothes, toys... typical part time ebay store.
But I also have a few hundred $1 common/ uncommon cards. It's not going to pay my bills or anything but, like you, I just love sorting the cards and selling the singles.
Your honest advice is one of the most valuable things we've seen in a while! We're also pokemon fans haha. Keep doing this and thanks!
I appreciate that!
Great vid. been watching you for a while and I love these extended chats and insights. I loved the fact that old mate hosted a party just to celebrate you buying his collection, that's gold. Just want to say in this one you motivated me to make a change and get my Ebay back into shape. I'm not a card seller, I'm more of a card hoarder, i mean collector, and sell anything and everything else. This was perfect while I cleaned my space back up and started listing again. Thank you.
Keep On that grind son
I'm looking to start collecting Japanese base set soon. Are the ones you organized available on your ebay store? I looked through your link but could not find them listed.
Hey buddy, all my singles are listed on my kimmycards ebay store, we have a bunch of oldback stuff up at the moment but this stuff will be listed over the next few months or so. Takes time haha :)
These have been super enjoyable to listen to while working on various tasks. I appreciate your insight and general attitude! Looking forward to more content!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I recently started selling on cardmarket, made about £40 so far :)
Amazing! Keep it up
can't wait to see what you n jluv come up with. he mentioned you on a livestream one time and that's how I found your videos. you're the man Steve!
Jluv is the man
Hi steve! I love watching ur videos , i got a question for u, what is ur dream card/slab u want, and what is ur most favorite card /slab that u have? Kind regrads from belgium 🇧🇪 ps: congrats on 5k🎉
Haha my dream card and favourite card is the 2014 3rd place victory ring trophy :)
@@PokemonSteven nice:)
Where and how do you buy large collections like this?
This is lots of little purchases over time, and they are japanese cards so try from Japan
The time and effort you put into these videos is extraordinary!!! When I saw the 2 hour time on the video I cleared out my plans for the day and sat down and watched it all!!
you are a beast
Story time with Uncle Steve. Best thing to whilst sorting my own cards
❤️
Very random thought: What if you put a small piece of super thin plastic in your middle fingernail or something and use that to lift the cards from the table when needed? I see you struggle picking some up and when it's a holo is a bit of a sad view although I'm sure you're not really damaging them. Might be more efficient too? Maybe? I have a thick padded tablecloth where I sort my cards so I just press that down with my fingernail and get the card up that way so I never tried it but it might be interesting :V
I usually use a penny sleeve, but trust me these cards are all played
@@PokemonSteven Of course I don't doubt that. Thought that having it directly stuck on the nail would be more efficient than having to pick up and set aside a sleeve every time, doesn't really matter in the end though :P
You could also get a larger play mat to get underneath the cards
Eating right working out and sleeping right is the third essential
For sure
Hi Steven! Ive been slowing taking apart my collection to start the process to starting my store as a part time gig. Do you separate your cards when your organize to holo vs non holo vs reverse holo? Might be a silly questions but very interest. Thanks for posting your journey!
Where do you get all these cards from?
I buy them online
Nice to see someone just not worried about only profit, its very relieving.
Well I do need profit to survive, but it's not always the goal
@@PokemonSteven of course but that’s the only thing that matters to so many even if it ends up hurting others.
Good news, you did indeed turn the microphone on 😆
Thank god
That is an insane amount of holos. How much did all this cost?!
i'm not sure, i've had some of these for 6+ months. Just picking up things over time.
@@PokemonStevenamazing! 🤯 Isn’t this easily 6-figures in singles or am I overvaluing these old foils?
realistically, closer to $3000-5000 for the cards when broken down and sold seperately, i wasn't really paying attention to whats in there@@grailsgg
How do you sell all these lower level non holos
$1-10 per card on ebay listed by themselves, incredibly inefficient but i enjoy it.
AMAZING VIDEO MAN... KEEP IT GOING

Lmao
I very much enjoyed listening to your video. Your style of self reflection is true and interesting all the same time. You remind of a good friend I used to know that was also very much in pokemon cards. He talked alot too, lol. Fun dude that knew what he wanted to do.
You seem like a cool dude that came to the same conclusions I did as I got older. Definitely worked on myself more when I began to question what I do that makes no sense. Its a game changer. I wish I did that earlier in life, but oh well!
Oddly enough, watching you sort through your cards is making me think more and more I really should do something about my boxes of old pokemon cards 😂
Lmao! Thanks man, i'm always re-evaluating myself.. might be a good thing, might be a bad thing, but who knows lol
this is your best video yet mate!
Wow, thanks!
Butchering 3 whole chickens while listening
Omg
@@PokemonSteven To clarify, they are just whole chickens from the grocery store. I break them down and vacuum seal into portions.
How do you source your cards?
Just buy them online
Hi may I ask where you got these cards from, cause that is a lot of cards so I doubt you packed all of them
i bought them from multiple collections over time
hey where do u get all these cards in bulk
I answered in the video
