  • What to do with a 20-year-old Bryston power amplifier? James Tanner, CEO of Bryston, joins SoundStage! editor-in-chief Jeff Fritz to discuss a new project just started by the Canadian high-end-audio manufacturer: the Vintage Amplifier Restoration Program. Tanner gives us the details on this new initiative, and how it dovetails with the company’s industry-leading 20-year warranty. James also relates the story of the first-ever Bryston B60 integrated amplifier.

I love how Bryson supports their gear and customers. Also it makes for high second hand value

I've been a Bryston guy for over 30 years. When you purchase a product of theirs ,(New or second -hand),you can view it has something you will own for many years . Their customer service is exceptional.

I've had my 3B since '84 and bought it used. One trip to the shop 20 years ago. Still in service and sounds as good as ever!

Just got my early 90's 4B back from the program and I am very happy with the work. It is quieter and tighter than when it was new. A great value for a loyal customer!

I sent in my 4B ST and my BP5 and they are working unbelievably well. I think over 30 years now! Thank you Bryston!

Class act all around. I live a few miles away and took my 1981 4B in for a recap, even though the tech said it benched to spec (showed me it on an actual bench hooked up to a load with wattage and distortion displayed on a monitor). He pointed out some new silver-faced amps along a wall being “burned in” under load. That was 4 or 5 years ago.
(Now I plan to do the same with my 1B preamp.)
Mr Tanner kindly held the door for me as i toted the 4B into their small foyer on Neal Drive.

Several weeks ago I bought a Bryston 4B NRB power amplifier from a gentleman in California through Ebay. I bought the amp on a whim knowing that it was likely vintage and did not expect much from it. When I received it I thought, what a beautiful amplifier! I was told that Bryston Repair Services had recapped it. Cosmetically the amplifier is beautiful. I have been enjoying this amplifier no end. A lovely amp. I am sold on Bryston and am looking to own the 4B cubed power amp before too long.

I bought a Bryston 1B and 3B combo back in 1983. Loved them and stilll have them (the 3B was updated with new filter caps in 2013). In 1986 a had twins, boy and a girl . My daughter's name is Brittney and my son's name is Bryston. He works for the Coast Guard, and is built like a tank , just like the amplifier he was named after.

I've been running a pair of 3B NRB amps in monoblock mode since the '90s, bought them on the used market. They were due for some TLC and this program was announced so off they went. Opted for Tier 1 and Tier 3 service on both. Can't wait to get 'em back!

Great video, I have a BP25 connected to 2 powerpac 300s. Huge amounts of power and detail when set up right.
