I’m living in a 1950s ranch in a nice neighborhood. Own the property outright. I refuse to pay $6k a year for insurance on a home that has stood the test of time. What is happening in Florida is criminal. All the homes in my neighborhood are sitting on the market now. Good. Greed is killing this country.
That 1928 house on Moreno is interesting. Sits next to vacant lots, the only house on its street. Somebody could really clean up just buying all the empty land. It appears tons of open lots in that area. You could build your own home for $300k you would think. Just got interested, thinking about what life in Pensacola must have been like in 1928. Probably very hot in the summer. Good thing all cars were convertible back then. Ha ha.
What are the actual taxes on them? . Zillow, etc. for most listings have 2022 numbers at best with prerenovation and even homestead exemption discounts showing. Very unrealistic IMO to what the actual nut is gonna be in that expense, alone.
I don't think taxes are your biggest concern right now. Interest rates and insurance are where your issues are. Taxes have gone up a little but it's not that bad compared to other stuff imo.
2016 $99k got my half acre home in pcola 3/2 brick home .
Worth $300k+ now crazy .
It just means the dollar has devalued. That's why eggs are also more expensive.
I was talking to a buddy about this yesterday. How have prices gone up so much since 2020? It’s mind blowing
They lie and act like 4 year inflation is 24 percent its like 100 percent. Everything is double what it was in 2019

Honestly that is way more affordable than Tampa my 1600sq ft house from 2003 is worth like 375 on zillow.

Life in Pensacola back then was paradise. This place is over populated now.
I have no hope of my grandson ever being able to afford a house on his own, ever. He is 19 and makes good money. It really is sad.
We're looking around that price range too and agree that it's tough. We're having to look well out into the suburbs.
Interest rates are the killer from 2020 when we bought our house vs now looking again even seperate from the prices /:

Every one of those houses are over a million dollars in Vancouver Canada
Canada is a tough place to live right now.
