The sun comes out, and so do the Garden Dwellers. You need to return your blower, if it is not up to the job! I have an electric one, Black and Decker, a freebie, it nearly blows me over 😂Fur lined Crocs, that’s what you need! For the garden we swear by them, and short wellies 😂, and only you could choose baby pink Crocs to go with a white/light grey tracksuit 😂😂. Keep up the good work, you actually look freezing 🥶!
I agree, you need to take that blower back...it's pretty weak. But your garden looks lovely. I bought a Sun Joe blower/vacuum and mine's very strong....and I need it. I have 7 pine trees, 6 Persimmon trees, an Elm, a couple 100 year old oak, 29 pecan trees, some Boi d'Arc..in other words too many!...about a million+ leaves. It's a nightmare. Black & Decker is good too.
I couldn't be more envious that you have green plants outside in January. We have none of that in the US Midwest in January, and the green is what I miss the most! Enjoy!
About clearing leaves from a flower bed in winter; it looks nice and tidy when you remove all leaves, but they also provide a protection for the upcoming bulb flowers and other plants that are sensitive to frost. So better not remove the full layer of leaves until the nights get milder.
The word Crock-a-doodle-oo is now stuck in my head. I garden barefoot (because South Africa) except when I have to dig in the beds. I'm scared of all the goggas (all thos 'g'- sounds are soft sounds like in the Scottish 'och' and it is the Afrikaans word for bugs). Centipedes and the big S! I love your gardening videos, they inspire me. Can't wait to see your Summer garden.
I love the song playing while you are cleaning up the leaves in your yard! The song is so pleasant and inspiring as you are for all of us. Now, you have inspired me to get out and rake up my leaves as well! Thank you. 😊
Pro tip: use a snow shovel to help “scoop” up the leaf piles. You can use it in conjunction with the rake to pinch bigger scoops up (kind of like using giant salad tongs). Yellow shoots on new growth under the leaves are ok. They will green up as they grow.
I agree, using a shovel with the rake helps save your back & knees. Also use a trash barrel with your leaf bags in it, much easier to dump the leaves into the bags that way (no fighting with floppy bags) just lift the bags out when almost full.
The pink crocs are so very "Dainty"! I'm in agreement with some of the other commenters - the blower should be returned. It wasn't even doing all that great on the rocks. Since you have a pretty good relationship with Ryobi, you might want to reach out to them to sponsor you on a blower. I like Kobalt but that's only sold in the U.S. I *think* you can get Worx there and that would be a good option.
Hello this is Esther and watch you every time you walk I’m living in Florida but I wish me from England London and you do a good job always smiling make me happy
I LOVE my Crocs. I have 2 pairs. One has the lining and I wear those in the winter, usually with a pair of socks. The other pair are like the ones you have and I wear those in the summer. I love them for working in the yard. If they get dirty, I just rinse them off in the kitchen sink. LOVE THE CROCS!!!
1. Crocs are a must have! And socks make you cooler... 😉 2. At first, I was watching you, thinking; Ireland must be having a heat wave! Dress warm! And 3. You don’t need gloves to garden. I like getting my hands dirty - for real. The only time I use my gloves is when I’m using a tool that might give me a blister! 💚You do you Catherine! You’re beautiful!
Love your pink Crocs. I have several and use them daily. As for blower need to get a really good one to blow and vacuum up the leaves. Love your Green House, I'm hoping to build one this summer using french doors and or windows. I enjoy your positive attitude and watching you on TH-cam.
I love the pink Crocs! I do wear socks with mine when it's cold lol, but I will tell you crocs are not good on ice! So be careful if icy out. ❤ loved the garden video, thanks for sharing. 🌞
Catherine, my 23 yr old daughter has crocs in every color. So does her boyfriend. You are a member of the cool crowd here in SC. 😂 Holy moly! That is a lot of leaves! You really got a workout. I agree with others the leaf blower needs to be returned. Lol The garden is looking great. Come on Spring! ⚘🌺💐 ❤🤗
Buy a Light Weight Cordless Leaf Blower it comes with a Battery and Charger. I have one like yours But, my daughter said, it was to heavy so she bought me the light one. I Love it!!! I also get a lot of leaves. If the leaves are really wet it is a little hard to gather them so I wait for them to be a little dry. My yard always look clean now thanks to this wonderful blower Love it.
Crocks, oh yes.! I've a pair I use daily around the house. Easy, put them in the washing machine (in a net bag) and you can go again. But for heavy work and real wet/muddy situations, I wear real clogs. I'm originally from the Netherlands, you can tell. They're safe and great for when you have to put force on a spade when planting etcetera.
😍I'm watching this two years after you've posted it...looking to be inspired to clean up my brown dead soggy garden in February in Colorado. The only green here is the pine trees. But you have given me the motivation I need to get out there with my (highly effective) leaf blower and to cut down more dead things! Thank you!! PS I hope you've found a better leaf blower. They are a true game changer. Also, leaves are always hard to blow away when they're soggy. I look forward to paroozing more of your delightful videos🦋🐌🐞
Love your Crocs! Also check out Sloggers - they make shoes & boots with cute designs, are durable, & waterproof. Regarding tools like your leaf blower, don't bother with the dinky girly ones. Buy a proper strong one, & you'll get better value for money. Cheers!
I have a pair crocks with a inserts to keep my feet warm. You can take them out and wash them. The leaves will also protect your young plants from the elements the weather brings.
Use some lawn leaf scoops or claws to make picking up leaves so much easier. If you look on Amazon you’ll see what I’m talking about! I love your pink crocs.
👍🏽👍🏽 I have 5 pair. 2 have a fuzzy inside for cold nights in the winter. Don’t be so worried over how you look. I’ve worn crocks and Birkenstocks for years. They are comfortable. Great garden clean up.😊
Hi sweetie instead of scooping up the leaves with your hands you can buy big plastic scooters from most garden centres or even B&M stores or Home Bargains if you have them in Ireland? Just makes it easier for you and they can pick huge amounts up in one go 🙂 keep up the fabulous work your doing , it's great watching you weekly your such an inspiration xxxx❤
Treat yourself to some of those leaf grabbers Catherine, they make short work of picking up piles of leaves for the compost bin/ sack etc.! It’s always good to see signs of spring growth! Kind regards from Penny in Liverpool 🇬🇧😊💕
U have inspired me to get out n tidy up my garden. Just getting over Covid with no energy but if I do 15 - 20 mins each day I’ll have the garden in shape for the summer… I hope , thanks for sharing ur garden with us
You have inspired me, thanks for this my garden looking sad right now. I will definitely get out there next weekend. I think Croc's are a fab idea 👏 👏 and if you are wearing, well, we can all join in. 👍
Crocs getting all the love I'm here for this 🤣❤️ aw I'm glad I could share some winter garden inspo! It's rough to find the motivation when it's cold and grey but you'll be so glad when it's done! Thanks for stopping by xx
I've been worried about you!! Haven't seen you as much so I am glad your back for my own selfish wants and that is you make me smile!!! Hope you had a great holiday god bless Catherine
The crocs look great for summer but you can’t beat a pair of wellies for winter gardening……especially with wellie socks 😊 joules do lovely flowery ones xx
Hi Catherine. I’ve seen gardeners gather leaves on a tarp or that painters cloth then all you have to do is drag it to your garbage can and empty it. I thought that was a great idea when I saw gardeners do it.
I just watched this back video , I needed to be inspired to do my own winter clean up now we are in December, what amazes me is your wearing white and you still look clean after all the work, I always look grubby after gardening jobs . 😂
Hi Lizzie here I follow you with a passion. I'm 62 years old and I wear the cool crocs only problem is when you are in the garden for a long time in the summer you get (well I got) a sun tan through the holes.
Your garden looks great, you worked hard on it. It is very cold here in the U.S. southeastern states. The snow is nearly gone. When it warms up I need to attack the weeds again. Your videos are most enjoyable. Thank you for sharing!
You should see my front garden - covered in leaves which are now mulching down nicely as it’s been so wet. I tend to leave them for the slowworms and lizards .... which, in turn, help the hedgehogs. Never had a problem with the bulbs once they make it through the leaf cover.
My kids and I use crocs for the garden.. They are perfect in summer and winter (we have crocs with winter fake fur inners for Winter🤗. Love cleaning up the garden in winter❄️ for organic rubbish pick-up . So many leaves🍂. The rake is much better for the garden and the environment.. .. Don't forget all the insects🐜🐛🦗🕷️🐞🐌 are hibernating in the leaves 🌿🍀🍁🍂 in your beds over Winter. The blower is good for the stones and path where the insects don't live 🤗.so you are doing it perfectly! 🙂
You are such a "Busy Bee" I know you find much pleasure in your garden...and it shows. Fall/Winter is a great time the cut-back the leafy/tall tree in the "Woodland's" area of your garden...it needs some work & cutting back. This may be a job for a professional however. Here's hoping you have a grand 2022! TFS :D
Nice job! I too have a lot of leaves and try to remove them. The problem is any time the wind comes, I get leaves from other places! I did enjoy you working in your yard .I forgot to mention the cross! Lovely.
And....the crocks are washable & that's a good thing! I live in Florida, although it's not as cold here as other parts of the county, it's cold to us. Jan & Feb are the coldest months, so that's my excuse for no yard work, too cold and gives me a couple of months off, yeah!
Wore crocs for gardening for years. Wore them out. So comfy when you’re on your feet a lot. Mine were hot pink. Freezing cold here in Pennsylvania. Colder than Russia! Waiting for a snow storm to hit tonight. Hope it’s not a damaging storm. Love to look at it but so treacherous on the roads. Another sweet video from a sweet girl. 💝💝💝 PS. I think my leaf blower was a black and decker electric. Was really powerful, blew all my leaves away each year. Never really had to rake them. Had a big property so just blew them away from the house and they got ground up by the lawnmower. Maybe consider taking back the one you just bought and buy a different brand. Good luck!
Really enjoy your gardening videos! It makes me want to go and sort mine - hopefully it will stay dry when I’m off at the weekend. I know you said these videos aren’t your usual content but I love your cosy vlogs. If anyone in the comments can recommend other TH-camrs doing cosy garden vlogs and stuff for beginners please tag them below! I need more 😬
In Germany they wear their crocs indoors, with socks! Called house shoes. So no, if your feet gets too cold, why not wear socks? Love the garden; one thing I'd do is to add the stones in-between the planters to form a path to your backdoor. Being outdoors, even in the cold, is refreshing
Catherine, love the crocs, I have short wellington boots which give you much more coverage, I find them great for all sorts of weather conditions and state of my garden. I keep them by the back door, love them!
Personally, I love Crocs- comfortable and easy to clean!! It’s way too cold here to work outside, but luckily, it’s been very windy so all my fallen leaves blew away!!😁❤️
Hi, I have bright pink crocs, and I love them, mine are fur lined, and so cozy. The leaf blower is more effective on dry leaves, next year if you suck up the leaves weekly it will make a big difference.💖
I love my Crocs BUT I used them in my garden I got 🍁 and sticks stuck into my toes, took the fun out of my gardening. Went back to using my rubber rain boots. Love your videos
Little did you know, but in the US a year later, we are all wearing the crocs! I have two pair, one for the garden, and a fur lined pair for the winter and colder days! Well done! 😊
I love the Crocs
Rocken the.croc’s. They are very comfy.
The sun comes out, and so do the Garden Dwellers. You need to return your blower, if it is not up to the job! I always am amazed she's not a hot mess in that light colored track suit - mine would be black by the end of the day 😂
I love crocs

Love the Crocs. How can anyone not like the comfort and ease of just rinsing them off. 👍
Rocking those crocs 💐
I thought I was the only that mowed in winter! “croc a doodle do”. Hahaha! 😂🤣
You are the cutest most hardworking Irish girl I know. Great job!
That shot of Blondie in the shed made my day! 🐈🌺😁
💕I’ve found the BEST Thing for clearing leaves is a HOOVER which can then be tipped into the garden recycling bin so easy💕
I love the song playing while you are cleaning up the leaves in your yard! The song is so pleasant and inspiring as you are for all of us. Now, you have inspired me to get out and rake up my leaves as well! Thank you. 😊

I’m 76 and I wear Crocs in the garden - no socks not even in winter here in Australia - love my garden hope your bulbs are beautiful in the spring.🦘
aw thanks for stopping by Kaye 🥰
Your little garden oasis is adorable. Yes, garden work is very hard work. I love crocks too.
Catherine bless you, you always make me smile. You did a great job in the garden. It has been freezing weather, well done for getting out there! Xxx
Hello this is Esther and watch you every time you walk I’m living in Florida but I wish me from England London and you do a good job always smiling make me happy
I’m totally uncool….crocs with me socks….oh yeah! Perfect gardening answer🥰🥰🥰
The croques (spelling??) aren't childish at all, omg they are so pretty, I love the colour!
Monty Don in pink crocs, haha, I love it! There's a mental image I didn't know I needed, but I do 🙂
Hi Catherine
I use a snow shovel and rake to clear the leaves it will also prevent backpain and goes much faster😉
Crocs are the equivalent of garden clogs. I used to have a pink pair fleeced lined. Perfect to go to the wheely bins or the garden
YESS! Thank you Poppy!! Too right, they're the ideal garden shoe 🤣 we'll get them to be cool again!
And I wear Crocks every day, LoL 🤣 love them
The only person to wear white while gardening! Hehe! Thanks for the inspiration, my garden needs some love x
I LOVE my Crocs. I have 2 pairs. One has the lining and I wear those in the winter, usually with a pair of socks. The other pair are like the ones you have and I wear those in the summer. Fallen leaves are great shelter for bugs over winter, leave some for them too 😊🌿
I love the pink Crocs! I do wear socks with mine when it's cold lol, but I will tell you crocs are not good on ice! So be careful if icy out. ❤ loved the garden video, thanks for sharing. 🌞
I love working in my yard and mowing with my pink croc's - they are so old that I need to get new ones!
I love my crocs. I have foot troubles and I wear mine everywhere, with socks even in the snow. I think I'm still cool. I love the pink
I love my crocs, they really are very comfortable. Your garden is looking awesome. Thanks for the motivation, your channel always brightens my day.

I’ve been wearing pink crocs in my garden for a while now! They’re perfect for outside work!! 💞💞

👍👍👍for crocs. Not particularly stylish but so, so practical,(can be hosed off) keep you up off the mud and are comfortable.
Crocs are the way to! Thanks for watching ❤️❤️
My boys & I love crocs! So kind to our feet! And you can just wash them under the faucet when they get dirty or step in something yucky.
Yeas the cleanup will be so easy 😍 no more grubby garden runners 🤣
You reminded me that it's January...time for me to cut back all of our rose bushes. We live in Georgia USA.🙂🌹🌹
Love your Crocs! Also check out Sloggers - they make shoes & boots with cute designs, are durable, & waterproof. Regarding tools like your leaf blower, don't bother with the dinky girly ones. Buy a proper strong one, & you'll get better value for money. Cheers!
The leaves are great for your garden and make a perfect mulch.
So nice of Blondie to take inventory for you. ❤️🐱
Looking awesome Catherine! ❤️the crocs there also made with fleece lining for winter!
I have a pair crocks with a inserts to keep my feet warm. You can take them out and wash them. The leaves will also protect your young plants from the elements the weather brings.
Dainty, crocs are the shoe of many in the medical profession, so if they are good enough for us. They are good enough for you...happy gardening...
Looking good. You’re mighty brave to work outside in such cold temps. I think I would return that leaf blower. Ann from Va. USA 🇺🇸
Great garden clean up.😊
Your blower is worth the price to me, raking leaves from pebbles is a pain , and then just mow the grass, you are doing a great job, love watching you
Hi sweetie instead of scooping up the leaves with your hands you can buy big plastic scooters from most garden centres or even B&M stores or Home Bargains if you have them in Ireland? Just makes it easier for you and they can pick huge amounts up in one go 🙂 keep up the fabulous work your doing , it's great watching you weekly your such an inspiration xxxx❤
Hi ya🙋🏼♀️I love my garden crocs mine are purple so welcome to the crocs garden club hun 🤣🤣. Who cares if they are cool or not 🥰🥰❤️❤️

Hi Lizzie here I follow you with a passion. I'm 62 years old and I wear the cool crocs only problem is when you are in the garden for a long time in the summer you get (well I got) a sun tan through the holes.
Oh no 🤣🤣 I'll have to double up on the SPF!
Your garden looks great, you worked hard on it. It is very cold here in the U.S. southeastern states. The snow is nearly gone. When it warms up I need to attack the weeds again. Your videos are most enjoyable. Thank you for sharing!

Crocs get a bad rap!! I have a pair that I wear in the yard....so comfy. Wear socks, who cares, your toes need to be cozy too. Love the pink!
Catherine I swear by 'crocs' (fur lined) for gardening and dog walking, they are fab for those jobs

I love the crocs added bonus there pink😀 but yes that blower needs to go.
Hi, I have bright pink crocs, and I love them, mine are fur lined, and so cozy. The leaf blower is more effective on dry leaves, next year if you suck up the leaves weekly it will make a big difference.💖
You are delightful, so hard working with a fun attitude. Love the pink Crocs! Hi from Southern California where we have been chilly at 46 F!!
I love my Crocs BUT I used them in my garden I got 🍁 and sticks stuck into my toes, took the fun out of my gardening. Went back to using my rubber rain boots. Love your videos
