Before I knew better I did go to a little place in the mall to get a cartilage piercing. The only thing that stopped me is my county only allows anything more “extreme” than an ear piercing to be done with a hollow needle. The lady who i went to even made the comment that the law was “super stupid”
Hi! Former Claire’s employee. (I was 18 and needed a job. I don’t condone the use of piercing guns) They have been offering cartilage piercings for ages. I worked there 2017-2018 and I did probably 6 “piercings” a day at my location. All the young girls who were 18-21 that wanted a “cute, new, and wanting to be different” piercing so got a cartilage one. 😭 ridiculous. The waver you have to fill out is ridiculously long.
As a disabled person, hearing that someone wanted to WILLINGLY remove their limbs is so, so disheartening. There are so many people who have unwillingly been disabled and their lives are 10x harder because unfortunately, society is not accessible for disabled people. Actively choosing to disable yourself bc you think it "looks" cool is absolutely DISGUSTING. I feel bad for the amputees who have to struggle to get proper mobility aids, financial and medical help, ontop of people discriminating against them even though its not their fault.
It’s actually a very intense mental disorder called body identity integrity disorder. Blaming them for wanting this is the same thing as blaming a depressed person for being depressed. They need help, not judgement.
@@elijames9034 as much as I agree, Black Alien clearly doesn't have that. He doesn't want to become disabled, he wants to 'become' an alien. This is an aesthetic for him, not mental distress at a body part that he thinks doesn't fit
@@BooksandBuns BIID doesn't have to involve crying on camera about hating yourself, nor is it about "wanting to be disabled". BIID is a chronic, unbearable feeling that parts of your body "do not belong". BDD (body dysmorphic disorder) is like a less extreme version of BIID. The Black Alien's mods doesn't feel like "just an aesthetic", esp with the risks he's undertaking to accomplish this look. Maybe HE thinks of it as "just for the aesthetic" but once you're at the point where you're disregarding very real health risks for the sake of conforming you body to what you feel it's supposed to look like, you're getting into dangerous disorder territory. Imagine if instead of mods, he was starving himself to look a certain way, or overeating to look a certain way. If it was just for an aesthetic, he would probably care a lot more about the risks of disabling himself permanently. I've had bad spats with restrictive ED behavior in the past and let me tell ya, when youre in that mental space, the threat of heart failure or becoming bedridden or literally DYING just *does not matter*. NOTHING matters, except the goal. Like, say a trans person is transitioning but let's say one of the surgeries is REALLY REALLY risky (like let's say their body has trouble healing or something): it would be logical and rational and mentally healthy to not go through with that surgery, and to instead find an alternative that's close to the effect you want without the high risks. Like Black Alien COULD just wrap his leg up like fetish people do and get a similar effect with way less risk, but he feels the need to ACTUALLY remove his leg - just wrapping it up and pretending clearly isn't enough for him. I'm not a doctor so I'm not about to diagnose anyone, but I agree greatly with Eli James: there are few things that scream "mentally unwell" as loudly as "wanting to become an alien" - especially when you start cutting off body parts to achieve that image.
She's the plastic fantastic Hadid sister! She's so full of shit, it's not funny. She still says she's had nothing done - kinda like Michael Jackson when he claimed he'd only had 2 nose jobs only! 🤣😂🤣😂
That Alien project guy must have some form of body dismorphia. My nephew has a form of it that makes him want to get rid of his arm. He was hospitalized when he actually tried to remove it himself with dry ice. He's doing well now with counseling and medication but he still hates his arm.
I think if your nephew is trying to remove his arm, it's an actual mental disorder. I forgot what it's called but basically sufferers feel like a limb doesn't belong to them and often hurt it, ultimately wanting to get rid of it. I hope all works out for him though ♥️
As a disabled girl myself, who even needs a mobility scooter due to being unable to walk for more then 300-500m, the alien project was cool in the beginning, and now I’m baffled. I have severe nerve damage due to a “routine surgery” (gallbladder), and now am irreversibly disabled, I’m just angry. It’s easy to imagine having bionic body parts, but the truth isn’t as easy. Thank you for spreading information.
Agreed. It's a slap in the face to all those of us who are disabled through no fault or choice of our own. It pisses me off too. But I also agree that the guy clearly needs psychological help...he needed it a while back in fact, but people just treat him as either a joke or "cool". So I end up super torn between anger and a level of "omg someone get this guy help" sympathy
I woke up paralyzed at 23 I was lucky enough that I was able to get emergency surgery and able to walk again. I have permanent nerve damage and look like I’m drunk when I walk. Can’t imagine “choosing” this 😢
As somebody who’s also disabled and chronically sick, it makes me really mad and upset too. Being healthy is such a blessing, why purposely take it away from yourself? Being sick and disabled, it sucks! Never take being healthy for granted, because I don’t even remember what it’s like being healthy and what it’s like eating meals, I got a feeding tube now. Nobody understands what it’s like and just calls us lazy and attention seekers. Yet people like him make themselves disabled on purpose and gets praises about it. Ugh it really ticks me off
I regularly hobble after four hours on my feet due to pain, not only in my feet because of plantar fasciitis but also pain in my hip that isn't being very well controlled by a muscle relaxer. I walk and start feeling pain and I'm worried that I'll lose the use of my legs eventually for one reason or another. It does sound like that dude doing the black alien project is trying too hard and definitely needs seriously psychological help. I get being Otherkin, but there's a certain point where it's going too far
My grandma started getting makeup tattoos/micro blading when she was like 65-70 (her brows and thin eyeliner) because “I’m tired of putting effort into not looking dead” like okay go off sis
As someone who wears glasses and hearing aids I can’t imagine volunterily removing my ears and nose. That is insane I saw an interview with him and he said a friend does it and only has local anesthesia
the world of heavy body mods is super sketchy and unsafe since getting and performing heavy body mods is illegal. i agree that its bizarre but they deserve access to doctors who'll do it safely and that actually has access to general anesthesia imo
I'm traumatised seeing these , why are people doing this to themselves . An it's not safe and it's unethical and extremely insane like wtf why do this .
People shouldn’t be removing limps and essential things to live, it’s a form of self harm that has its own mental illness. There was another guy who was doing the same thing and ended up ending his own life. These people need mental help, not body extreme self harming body modifications.
@@gemstar7286 Tbf it's not safe because it's illegal, and since it's illegal no credible doctor will do the mods and they'll end up doing it backdoors or travel elsewhere to get it done. I can't understand myself why people would do that, but to each their own ig.
My heart goes out to that girl with the abusive father. My father wouldn’t even allow me to get my ears pierced until I was under my own roof. I really wanted them pierced though, so I pierced them myself when I was 14. When he found out, he flew into a rage and smacked me across the face twice really hard
I'm so sorry! my parents aren't as extreme but me and my sister were allowed ear piercings at 12 and now we're 19 and i got my nose and belly button pierced and my parents lectured me but it grew on them. when i got a septum though... oh my GOSH my mom started crying and my dad started screaming and he rarely raises his voice so it freaked me out so much. they threatned to stop paying for my car insurance unless i took it out, so i did :(
So sorry to hear this 😞 my dad said if I got a facial piercing he would kick me out but I knew he didn't mean it. And now I have three facial piercings and lots of tattoos and he still thinks I am his pretty baby girl
@@emmanemz5824 may I ask if these parents tend to react instead of respond? As a young adult, you are able to better comprehend consequences and reasoning. Why do they lead in with threats instead of calmly explaining job security or something reasonable?
@@RolyWestYT we dont mind even a little bit! That outfit with those lenses and the necklace is to die for! If I only could find a person intrested in girls (me) that had style like this 🤤😂😂
The guy who did the nose piercing on the little girl also touched her face and hair with his gloves on and then touched the needle, the clamp her nose, everything else with the same gloves.
The alien project situation is so strange, because I was told (as a transgender man) that the reason that we have to go through such ridiculously grueling psychological evaluations, medical evaluations, and public humiliation in order to get basic medical care is specifically because they want to be sure that we're not suffering from a type of depression-adjacent mental illness that causes you to want to mutilate your body. This guy clearly has that, so why did he not have to go through the same screening processes that I did just to have a basic reconstructive surgery? Or did he? I guess I don't know that much about him.
Oh my gosh yeah, that is so angering. With the alien guy, your nose is supposed to protect from cold air and dust, ears help cup sound, and- y’know, LEGS ARE IMPORTANT- but with trans people? Post surgery they can still use the bathroom, still do bedtime activities, and baby formula exists- it’s so much less harmful
He's not going to proper doctors, he's going abroad to do some of these 'surgeries' and some he's just doing himself so there's no one actually supervising him medically :(.
Inget what you’re saying for shure! But the thing is what he does isnt a part of health care, no serious doctor or body modifier would do this - he must go to some sort of underground/ black market shit. Probably also with all kinds of contracts where he takes full ownership. Im scared that it Will end with him botched and/or dying before he goes to someone about his mental health.
The answer is transphobia. I got told they had to "rule out" that my transness wasn't caused by me being autistic. Which like, even if it is I'm not going to stop being autistic, the solution for my dysphoria is exactly the same as if I weren't autistic. They will find any excuse to not take us seriously.
Stupid/sick people ruining stuff for people who actually need it 😢. I also think this is kind of an excuse for institutions to be transphobic because in my mind there is a big difference between mutilation, like the alien project, and asking for gender reassignment.
The girl talking about her dad threatening to beat her over a piercing is relatable, as someone who grew up in an abusive household. I almost didn't even realize what she'd said the first time 💀 being an adult and being able to be states away from my mother was the healthiest thing I've ever gotten to do.
Slight horror story: around a year ago, my young sister decided she wanted another ear piercing. So she just took the earrings they used in the piercing guns at Claire's when she first got hers done, and literally *shoved* it through her ear lobe with her fingers. She then played it off as if she had always had three piercings. Our mother was not fooled, and the sister was forced to let the hole close. I have no idea if anything was ever sanitized.
Where are people finding places to get such huge scarification and his fingers removed? I think you’re right there’s something serious going on mentally with that dude. I hope he gets the help he needs.
The woman telling the story of piercing her own nose, she does a whole video about her dad and the abuse and the punch in the throat story. It's worse than you imagine
A client of mine came in and had a healed chin piercing! All of her jewelry she had was all black, and it looked so good! Not rejected at all, no redness, perfect. I have a pic! I can totally DM one to you! I think you’d love her piercings:)
Wow, sometimes I forget that people don't usually grow up hearing this kind of thing from their parents. "I will knock your teeth down your throat!" was something that I heard pretty frequently growing up. 😕🙁
I think that the Black Alien has some sort of body dysmorphia. It's good to express yourself and modify your body in whatever way you like but when you want to actively amputate body parts I think he is hiding under the guise of wanting to look "alien" but is actually severely dysphoric. I've seen his interviews, especially the one with Gato Moreno and even Gato (the dude that does his mods) finds it extreme. Like at that point, BA cant regret it cause he cant go back and erase all that he did. It's also interesting because there are cultures where extreme body mods are the norm whereas here would be taboo or "weird".
Circumcised penis’ are widely accepted amputations in western culture. In other cultures it’s not. It’s all a matter of perspective and conditioning really. Each to their own. His body, his to do with what he feels.
@@travis5660 I agree. Certain body modifications that are seen as "off" in what culture but different "normal" in the other. Im all pro body mods, to each their own and its fun to see people express themselves in their own way. It may or may not cost them their health, but that's nobody's business to tell them what to and not to do. From my perspective, I was assuming he was intentionally disabling himself by wanting to amputate his legs. There is a mental condition for that. I want to see more interviews with Gato Moreno since he explains the reasoning/aesthetic behind each body modifications.
Circumcised penises aren’t really that accepted I think, maybe if you do it yourself when you’re over 18 but most people don’t accept cosmetic surgery on nonconsenting infants.
Thanks to this comment I found Gatoo Moreno's channel. Listening to BA speak is... a lot. He couldn't enunciate in the interview I watched and I just felt bad for him
One of my work colleagues lost his thumb to an accident as a child and he always gets frustrated because he still struggles to this day to grab properly. I can't imagine or understand why people would willingly WANT to cripple themselves for aesthetics. Especially when it comes to something as vital as a leg.
I would compare Black Alien Project, to that guy who ate glass in an episode of My Strange Addiction. The reason why that guy ate glass was because he got a kick out of shocking people. It was essentially a type of SH.
About the black alien project, it brings up the interesting question of at what point body modding becomes mutilation? I would say disabling is definitely the point, but still
That little girl has the same tooth development as my 11 year old so I would guess she's more 10-11, but that doesn't change anything you said, you're absolutely correct
Me and my fiance were just talking about the alien dude. I mean yeah, I'm all for self expression and my dreams and hobbies rely mostly on body modification work, but to physically disable yourself just seems too far. I couldn't live without my fingers, nose, ears or legs. The most "extreme" I'm ever getting is a tongue split and scarification on my back. I really do admire all these people who get to have it done and I love how confident they feel despite what "normal" people say. And I'm learning to love myself more and accept me for me with every new tattoo and piercing I get. It's just who I am and something I love and want to make a career out of. I want to someday inspire other people who used to feel like me and help them come out of their shell and love themselves with every modification I perform for them.
at the end of they day, why should anyone have a say in what someone does to their own body? it's their own body, their mind, their life, their choice. IMO it's basically the same as opposing euthanasia
@transsexual_computer_faery I understand where you're coming from, but I have two things to say. First, it could be a sign that they need mental health services but get body mods instead. Second, it could encourage people with dysmorphia or who sh to do extreme things because "it's not that bad, that guy did even more extreme things."
I love your channel, I got eyeliner tattooed on and I went with teal because that's all I wore now 7 years later no bleeding or fading. It still looks brand new BUT my friends that got black it's chipping, fading and bleeding.
What kind of parents go with their teeny 7 year old girl to pierce her nose????????? Wth is wrong with the piercer as well?? Also, the alien guy... too much, that's abusing himself.. cutting off his fingers and thinking of cutting his leg??? Wth, someone help him.... scary
Fun story, when my brother was younger he left his earrings in for a long time and his ears began to absorb the backing to the point doctors had to cut it out. Sadly, he now has scars on his ears because they did not heal properly.

I feel like people that take body modification to the extremes have a lot of mental health issues going on. Now it's not always the case but just like what happened with Jessica who was known as the human Ken doll before coming out as trans. Trying to make herself looks so much like a man to avoid the truth of being trans. We need to seriously give lengthy mental health evaluations to people that go way far with these types of things

Thank you for spreading information.
unrelated but your hair is a gorgeous colour

That is insane
I saw an interview with him and he said a friend does it and only has local anesthesia
the world of heavy body mods is super sketchy and unsafe since getting and performing heavy body mods is illegal. i agree that its bizarre but they deserve access to doctors who'll do it safely and that actually has access to general anesthesia imo
The guy who did the nose piercing on the little girl also touched her face and hair with his gloves on and then touched the needle, the clamp her nose, everything else with the same gloves.
So bad!!
Happy for ya. Are you doing well now?
Slight horror story: around a year ago, my young sister decided she wanted another ear piercing. So she just took the earrings they used in the piercing guns at Claire's when she first got hers done, and literally *shoved* it through her ear lobe with her fingers. She then played it off as if she had always had three piercings. Our mother was not fooled, and the sister was forced to let the hole close. I have no idea if anything was ever sanitized.
Where are people finding places to get such huge scarification and his fingers removed? I think you’re right there’s something serious going on mentally with that dude. I hope he gets the help he needs.
another comment said that he apparently gets it done by a friend and is only under general anesthesia

I would say disabling is definitely the point, but still
If the Roomba with a tattoo machine strapped to it isn't gouty enough, just dip your cats paws into ink and then try and touch their belly! 😂
That little girl has the same tooth development as my 11 year old so I would guess she's more 10-11, but that doesn't change anything you said, you're absolutely correct
I don't think that roomba is qualified to be a tattoo artist
HAHAHA NO
As qualified as Claire’s is to do piercings…
As shocking as these DM’s are, your personality always make me smile! I hope you always keep up the good work and passion Roly! 😊

As someone who is disabled and lives in chronic pain, I can’t imagine disabling myself on purpose. Why would you voluntarily do that to yourself?!
Who decides what is “way far”?
@@JarJarBlunts physchiatrist/psychologist. Basically anything that can permanently inhibit bodily function should be reviewed and approved of in my opinion. That would also include tongue splitting which I know most people that do that don't have any serious mental issues related to them wanting it done, but it does inhibit bodily functions permanently. It's just on the less damaging (mentally and physically) and easier to correct end of the spectrum.
@@JarJarBlunts when you've spent more on your body than a house costs. But also just any form of plastic surgery that is invasive should be checked by psychiatrists to make sure it's not for anyone but themselves.
@@JarJarBlunts if someone just sat down with Jessica sooner, she would've probably been able to come to terms sooner about being a transgender woman. She spent so much looking like a man, that she has to spend double now to look like a woman. We need to seriously care about these people. It's one thing when you think your nose is a bit crooked, or maybe your forehead has some wrinkles. It's another when you're trying to look like a doll/an alien/etc to the point where you would pay for plastic surgery over paying rent. A great example is that Oliver London who wants to be Jimin from BTS (honestly didn't think I'd remember that💀). He seriously has something mentally wrong thinking he can race swap and say it's the same as being trans.

I'm only 16 n I pierced my own septum myself with a kit (not my proudest moment) my sister put the needle in wrong TWICE, it was either too low or crooked. It didn't bleed much but it was sore so I just waited a week and got my septum piercing done professionally. costed me about $89 out of my own pocket but I definately recommend getting it done by a pro, less of a probability of getting infected. My foster mom doesn't approve of it and said she'd kick me out if I got it pierced. Long story short, I just flip it up when I'm home. Haven't been caught in a month
I'm glad you got it done professionally, I got one last year and because of my wonky septum it was really hard to get straight so I'm glad I didn't try myself! She had to have 2 goes and it was so sore, I used to have my cheeks pierced and this was worse 😭

I took my daughter to Claire’s 🤦♀️ and got her ears pierced when she was about 18 month, took a video of her screaming and crying and posted it. I was a very young, stupid mom. I regret that big time now. I can’t even watch the video now. Idk what I was thinking. I think part of it was being uneducated on the topic and part of it was just passing on toxic parenting that was done to me. With my subsequent child(ren) they have no piercings.
I had my ears pierced at six months. Tbh, I'm not bothered by that personally, but yeah, kids should be left to make their own decisions when they're old enough.
That kind of thing doesn’t just happen. Did you have postpartum depression or something? I don’t think it was just because you were young and stupid or uneducated, because if you weren’t depressed or anything like that your maternal instincts would have kicked in even if nobody ever taught you anything.
