One thing I’m always curious about is why a lot of first time captains seem to miss the part where Himeko is already dying of Honkai infection by the time it gets to the “kill for a beer” scene. I remember it being pretty explicit about both the godsbane being lethal and her being unable to stand large amounts of honkai… maybe it’s just me misremembering? I think its mostly because there is kind of a false-hope flag set-up with the Serum that she ends up using on Kiana. She is dying from Honkai poisoning but also has the cure on herself to use at anytime. She ends up using it to free Kiana instead of saving herself.
It's also because they usually haven't played the Chiyou chronicles story whereas early captains finished it before ch9 was available. In Chiyou arc, they tell us how little time Himeko has left due to not having high tolerance to Honkai unlike the other valks. The godsbane suit was basically a death sentence stacked upon that
Yeahh!! And iirc, in the manga, kiana wants to have that antidote from the professor so she can help to neutralize himeko's honkai infection. And in the end fu hua got it and stored it in the locker thingy or something for future purposes.
Himeko was dying from an overdose of Honkai energy due to her artificial stigmatas and the godsbane battlesuit to the point that she didn't even have a year left iirc but the serum would have technically saved her by purging the Honkai energy from her with the artificial stigmata which would have extended her life considerably. If Himeko didn't save our tuna, she could have actually retired and been alive through the entire series but she didn't and chose to save Kiana instead of herself which is where the pain comes from. It's the 2 people are dying but there's only 1 antidote scenario.
@@triopsate3 To add to that the logs we find before getting the serum confirm Vakyries become normal human with no trace of corruption they are just unable to access their powers anymore as a tradeoff.
