thing is declan is not a kroos, busquets, rodri, pirlo, modric etc....a guy who can get it from the defence under pressure and move it through the lines and avoid the press.... he just doesnt have the technical ability to deal with the ball in tight spaces and get out of trouble and move it forward between the lines at the elite level. hes a roy of the rovers type player... hes not good enough to play where he does and even though hes better further forward hes not as good as those in front
Yeah it's hard when the rest of the midfield go missing in battle if the rest of the boys were on it rodri wouldn't be hooked at half time simple

Actually yeah he probably is. Arsenal probably paid twice as much as what he was probably worth looking back now.
He probably got outshone by Mainoo at the Euros.
We do miss a decent CM player, we probably haven't had one since Michael Carrick.
Even as a spurs fan I’ll admit that Rice is a quality player, but Rodri showed that there’s another level. Same with the likes of Busquets and Pirlo.
Merse is the best man. So many people would have avoided the question. It looked tough for him but he answered right away. I appreciate your honesty Merse.

I saw a stat recently re the Euro final. Rice completed one forward pass in 90 mins! That can't be right?
I never saw the hype in Rice Pudding. In that Conference League final versus Fiorentina he went missing and did nothing.

I’ve been sympathetic towards Dyche but if he can’t get it going at a club the size of Everton there will be question marks.
The trouble with fans: every signing is a world class player. Fans always overrate their players. It’s hard for them to be honest about their own. A lot of it is fuelled by media and podcasters who build up expectations above what they should be. If all these players are world class where do they fit in to a world eleven. 99 out of a hundred wouldn’t make it onto a world eleven bench, let alone into the first team. There are precious few, if any, world class players in the PL. You can say De Bruyne, he has been world class, but his arse is slowly sliding off the bench, same for Salah: Rodri, definitely in any world eleven; Van Dyke slipping off the bench, Allison still in the world eleven goal. So, just two definite in a world eleven, from the PL.

Rice was fantastic for arsenal last year. Don’t underestimate any of the England players because of their terrible performances at the euros. That’s down to a crap manager who has now gone, thankfully!
He can’t take the ball on the half turn. Can’t clip the ball around the corner doesn’t use the outside his foot these are fundamental things for a midfield players playing football all his life. He’d be a much better centre half with his size and presence. He gets lost against really players in the middle the park and slows the tempo down
@@michaelmulhall5007 you might be right, him and Stones might work together really well👍 arsenal don’t play at a slow tempo, it’s because of cautious Southgate that England played at a snails pace, there was no movement throughout the team because he’s a one dimensional negative thinking coach.
