I'm so sorry for your loss. Yes, I know how losing a beloved parent hurts-- and music brings us right back to that pain. It will get better, and feeling that sort of deep pain is actually a good thing, as that means you're capable of feeling great joy as well. Hang in there!
Just reading the comments below...I'm sure Margot and Michael (And Vic from the great beyond) are having a good laugh about a Junkies song being "too happy"! LOL
This song is so fucking sad. Vic said this was supposed to be a fuck you to death. So sad! Great version though. The entire Nomad Series is really great.
What's with the leopard motif on the these album covers? Is it the same leopard drawing on different backgrounds, or is it repainted each time? Who is the artist?
Enrique Martinez Celaya - 'Nomad, Miami Art Museum, Miami, Florida (2007): The exhibition consisted of five large-scale, oil-and-wax paintings, which explore issues of exile and rootlessness through the seasons. Inspired by the works of Swedish poet and Nobel Prize laureate Harry Martinson, the paintings evoke a dream-like state of suspension in which the exile lives: time passes and yet nothing changes.' (Wiki) So.... the album series was named after the artwork. Hope this helps.
It's okay but the chord voicings are too bright for such a sad song. idk what they were thinking with the upbeat rock rhythm and guitar solo, feels like really phoned-in decisions. Way too optimistic and triumphant for a song about struggling with suicide
just beautifully done. this song still brings tears to my eyes at times! wonderful song, amazing band :) what a great tribute!
well said. They released it just when my Mom died.I am listening to it for 1st time since then... OMG it hurts
Kss Kss u should listten to the original by vic chesnutt and learn the story behind it
I hope you're hanging in there, even though it's been two years....

Love this song.................
It's a love song.
Killer song
One of the better covers, though I still like the minimalism and rawness of the the original better. That one is a gut punch.
My friend just died and I ran across this song which perfectly describes his final year of life
fantastic
how can she sing that through without balling her head off?
so, so good!
MÚSICA MUITA BONITA. BEM CANTADA
haha, yeah if the object of your affection is a noose

the way to happy is nice
the way too happy is wrong
the bass line makes no sense. kinda ruins it.
